Great hotel, very charming, an oasis in Taroiudant. Great food. Very friendly owner who will give you a lot of information and usefull tips. I would definetely stay here again and I would recommend it to everybody.

Very wellcoming. Difficult to find on your own, but if you call Yves, he will pick you up and lead you to his beatifully restored house in the center of Taroudant. Very nice place and good food. Great spacious rooms, nice local design. Our stay was too short to enjoy the hotel, place and surroundings.

Yves was a fantastic host - couldn't have been more friendly, welcoming and helpful. The rooms, building and ambience could not be better within minutes of the souk.

If you Head to Touradant, the Riad Dzhara is the place to stop for the night or maybe for the week! This Riad is held by Yves, a french man from Saint Malo Who ended here in 2009 and built This beautiful guest house from scratch. Riad Dzhara is in the Medina just few meters from the main squadre. From here you reach also the suq and the walls of the city. The Riad is a mix between french and moroccan style due to the origins of the owner who built This place on his own using local stones, tiles and wood. Even the furniture and the objects are Made by Yves that took ispiration from the moroccan art. If you ask him to show you the pictures of place Before the construction you will understand how much work and passion are in This Riad. Every room is different from the other and they have a private bathroom with shower. Most of Them have a Common balcony with swimming pool view. On the roof there is a big terrace to relax under the Sun. After the entrance you pass by a little courtyard with a fountain and then you are in the main one with the restaurant and the swimming pool. The restaurant serves typical moroccan dishes as couscous with vegetables and meat, tomatoes and pumpkin soup and orange with cinnamom. Also the breakfast is in moroccan style. The place is clean and the service is very good. Furthermore Yves is available to tell you more about the Riad and Touradant. If you need Tips for shopping argan products, food, objects and so on or for visiting the sorroundings he would be very happy to help you. One of the highlights is an ecofriendly guest house: so don't expect aircon and tv. If you are here in winter just ask for a gas bottle for your room and air dryer! I will be happy to stay here again.

An oasis in the middle of a really oriental and busy surrounding. The Riad is very beautifully equipped, nice and clean rooms, a beautiful garden with pool and places to eat outside. Superb authentic local cuisine prepared by very friendly moroccan staff at a very good price. The frech owner Yves is very helpful with everything and offers some possibilities for excursions and activities at reasonable cost. If passing Taroudant, it is a good choice to take a rest there!

Staying here was the best choice we made. Yves, the owner, helped plan the rest of our trip in Morocco and treated us like family. The Riad itself is beautiful and Yves did a magnificent job of building it using the traditional techniques of Morocco. The man is a modern day Macgiver and a true legend. His friend Habib took us up into the mountains to visit a Berber family which was one of the highlights of our trip. The food at the Riad was to die for. Amina and her cooking staff were so friendly and the food was so good I offered to marry her so she could be our cook! All the staff were brilliant and the rooms were amazing. This was such a brilliant stay and we cant wait to go back in the future!! Taroudant is the perfect place to go to meet friendly people who are not after your money and is great place to go to experiance the REAL Morocco. A true gem.

We were really looking forward to staying at this riad because of all the outstanding reviews that it has received. We were not disappointed - All the excellent reviews we had read about the riad, the location and the owner Yves and his wife are all true. We had already realised that the riad would be difficult to find so we took a caleche ride there. Most local people seem to know of Yves and the riad. The riad is unmistakably Moroccan and the attention to authentic detail that Yves has given it is amazing, it's almost a work of art! Restoring the building has obviously been a labour of love. Yves and his wife were both very helpful and gave us some useful advice and ideas for trips. He also has produced a very useful map of the town, which was incredibly handy. Yves is also a very good chef and the Moroccan evening meal was delicious, served on the terrace by the pool. All in all I was very pleased to have chosen to stay in this riad, it is excellent value for money and I would recommend it to anyone. I would also recommend a caleche ride around the city walls in the evening, they are much more impressive than Marrakech's.

Yves has created a beautiful setting by rennovating & extending the original home all in keeping with Moroccan architecture. The section we slept in was 300+ years old. The rooms were well appointed, spotlessly clean & serviced daily. The swimming pool was perfect given that we had 50+c weather during our stay. Yves staff are great & we ate at the Riad on a number of nights - the food was delicious. When I departed to Marrekech, Yves came with me to organise my spot in a Grand Taxi - he was so helpful.

Air conditioning in the room would have been great, but I actually slept quite well once we left the door open during the night. There are overhead fans which are reasonably effective & we were there at the hottest time of the year with a run of 50+c days.

Yves and his staff were very friendly & helpful. The Riad has been tastefully built by extending an existing building. It has a lovely courtyard & swimming pool. We had the best meal that we had during our one week stay in Morocco. Yves is a mine of information on ancient Agadirs (grain storage banks). The scenery in the area is fabulous and Taroudant a middle size working town with a couple of good souks. We wish that we'd spent longer there.

we had a nice couple of days here, Hotel owner very helpful providing information, Riad is located right in the town. Had a great trip out to an old village in the mountains although best done with a 4 x 4. Children loved the donkey ride in nearby Tioute. Not much to do in Tarroudant but a real taste of Morrocan life and pretty hassle free compared to Marrakech

Een heerlijke riad met een innemende eigenaar die graag zijn tips en adviezen overbrengt op zijn gasten. Fijne locatie, centraal gelegen, voorzien van een lekker zwembad. Eten is erg lekker, net zoals de wijn die zij (als een van de weinigen) schenken!!

J'ai choisi Taroudant et le Riad sur un coup de tête parce que j'avais besoin de repos, de soleil, de chaleur mais aussi du bruissement d'une ville à découvrir et je me suis félicitée de mon choix à chacun des 6 jours passés chez Yves. J'ai tout apprécié et surtout le fait que le Riad soit avant tout une maison dans laquelle on est accueilli, cocooné par un personnel attentionné, des repas à la fois bons et copieux. Les chambres sont vraiment agréables, la déco est soignée. J'ai aussi aimé le calme au coeur de la ville, la piscine après le souk, les échanges avec les autres voyageurs ou les visiteurs de passage, les excursions très personnalisées organisées par notre hôte, le hamman à ne rater sous aucun prétexte...sans oublier de signaler l'excellent rapport qualité prix Bref une maison ou l'hôte est vraiment le roi !

Le propriétaire Yves est un de ces personnages qui donnent à votre voyage un tournant inattendu. Source d'information inépuisable, il vous submerge d’info et de suggestions. Nous avions dix jours, pas assez pour suivre toutes ses indications. Résultat : l’embarras du choix et mille kilomètres plus que prévue. Mercie Yves ! :-) Son Riad Dar Zhara est une des meilleures adresses dans le centre de Taroudant. Tranquillité en plein centre. Vaut un séjour de 2-3 jours et puis … sur la route, sans Routard/Michelin/Guide ..., avec les feuilles d’info signées Yves.
