Staff was very helpful Very good location
Room was cold. The bathroom is not completely separated from the room and it has no door. So it is uncomfortable and humid as well. Breakfast was good but quite small.
Fabulous decor and the roof terrace was a dream.Staff were very helpful.
The mattress could have been better!
The staff are great. Friendly and very helpful. Great location. A few minutes walk to the square and not too complicated to find if you venture outside of the walls. Breakfast was great. The rooms are comfortable and clean.
Very close to market stalls and the Big Square. The location was tucked away and amazingly quiet considering how close this is to the action. Great roof terrace and indoor courtyard. The owner and staff were excellent. Food also very good.
I have no reason to complain about anything.
Staff were great...very friendly and polite, nothing was too much...a calm and relaxing oasis in the hustle and bustle of the city..made us feel very welcome....would definitely recommend this riad to anyone...
Well there are so many things i can say but i will keep it brief. 1.breakfast was nice - if i was critical there is too much bread. 2.staff! absolutely amazing and very caring. 3.location - 7-10 minutes comfortable safe walk to the square. 4.the riad is beautiful
Very quiet Beautifully appointed salon Good food Excellent helpful staff
Riad difficult to find especially on arrival in the dark. Instructions not clear when not arriving direct from the airport.
Location: Great, in southern part of the Medina, close to the Jewish area. Just two small streets away from one of the 'main' streets (Riad Zitoun Lakdim) that leads to the Fna-square. We thought that main street was rather big, with cars and busses, but it's not. It's just a small street with some shops, donkeys and scooters. You walk to the Fna-square in less than 10 minutes. Once you know how to get there, it's very easy. But the first time it's impossible to find, whether you arrive by daylight or at night. We arrived at night and eventually had to use one of the local boys (who jump at you once you step out of the taxi...) to find the riad. Taxi can't stop in front of the riad. Closest/Easiest point is 'Place des Ferblantiers', from there you walk into the street Riad Zitoun Lakdim. Taxi from airport to Place des Ferblantiers: don't pay more than 80 to 100 Dirhams. Riad: Great decoration in Maroccan style (livingroom, bedroom Attarine) and nice roofterrace. Everything is clean, very good shower (non stop hot water). Bed was rather small (160x180 cm). You can hear other guests in the evening, since it's very quiet in the riad. You don't hear anything from the noisy streets, which is perfect. First night we heard the prayers of the mosques, but not loud. Rest of the nights we didn't wake up, because the mosques are not close to the riad. Staff is extremely helpful. You can have breakfast wherever you want (your own room, livingroom, roofterrace) and they bring it to you. Nice variation: minttea or black tea, orange juice, bread, cake, boiled egg, some fruit and a pancake. Staff also took the time to explain the map of the city, and can also give you an idea of what the average taxi-price should be for certain distances. The city: The traditional clothing, the donkeys, the horsecarriages... they make you feel as though you are walking in 1950.
dinner was delicious. our best meal in morocco.
dinner was expensive.
We had a wunderful vaccation! Exelent food, nice pool, good weather, beaturful hotel and garden. Just perfect!
Great location Staff were awesome! - Awaffi & Abdul could not have done more to make stay enjoyable. Laundry service wonderful Breakfast was nice
Beds were not very comfortable Our bathroom towels were threadbare and needed replacing Shower sprayed in face Cleaning of floors could have been better - always felt dusty?
A lovely roof terrace to relax on, delicious breakfasts and a very good dinner on our first night. Trips can be arranged on arrival at short notice and the staff were all very friendly. Easy walk to the main square.
The riad is situated perfectly for spending time in the old medina. The staff were all amazing, friendly, helpful and hard working. The rooms were all individually decorated and had their own seating areas. The breakfasts were all served either on the seating areas or on the roof terrace and were cooked and served when we wanted it. The food in the evening was excellent but expensive. The medina is about 5 minutes walk away through a covered market walkway. The staff were so helpful and made so much effort looking after us, Abdul and his staff were totally amazing.
We felt that as tap water wasn't drinkable, for the price we paid, a bottle of water should have been provided in the room without being charged for it. As it was so hot and sunny sun umbrellas should have been provided on the roof terrace to provide some shade. With the build style of the riad fellow guests should have more respect for other residents and keep their children a bit quieter and keep noise to a minimum after midnight.
Location was excellent, very near to Badi and Bahia palaces as well as the main square. Very peaceful and beautifully decorated in traditional moroccan style. The thing that made the biggest difference though, was the staff who made us feel so at home and gave us great tips on places to see and restaurants.
Nothing. Would definitely stay here again.
Location Design Authenticity Service Comfort
Price of the bottled water rediculisly expensive and we were not even told it is chargeable. After mentioning it on check out it was taken out if the bill.
Very friendly staff who were very happy to help. Great plunge pool too.
The riad was wonderful, the staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. They provided us with loads of great recommendations and were happy to assist with any bookings or travel arrangements. The location was great, only a 5-10 minute work from the main square and the souks. There was a taxi rank near by to help get us out to the new city too. Our room was clean and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was a highlight. I would definitely recommend.
wonderful staff, great communications through email, wonderful homemade style traditional food, unbeatable rooftop and terraces and patio
A friendly and peaceful safe haven in the middle of a beautiful city. The riad is beautiful and so welcoming, the staff are great and fantastic guides with fluent English! I would highly recommend and will definitely be returning again!
The staff were all extremely personable and accommodating. The reccommended sights were spot on. The many areas to relax in the Riad made it a cool and comfortable oasis of calm in the busy medina. No- one seems to mind if you stick your legs in the chilly plunge pool/ fountain after a hot days walking either!
Dar El Souk was incredible and made my trip to Marrakech that much better. I would highly recommend the riad to anyone- the location, facilities, ambiance, staff- Abdul and Yassine and all the ladies were amazing. The rooftop terrace is lovely, dipping pool, meals, recommendations for Marrakech, room, location and extras were all superb!
NOTHING!- Wouldn't change a thing, it was great all around.
Lovely roof terrace, enjoyed eating breakfast there. Nice to have private seating outside the room. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Good location for the palaces and the square. We enjoyed dinner on our first night. Overall we had a great stay.
Only criticism would be that the bathroom got very hot and humid. Would benefit from a/c or dehumidifier. (not a big deal as bedroom had a/c)
The Riad is beatiful, the staff amazing.
Very welcoming reception. Comfortable beds, nice breakfast.
Building repairs, but not too intrusive.
The staff were amazing. With our plan delayed, we arrive at 2h am. We had a fantastic couscous prepared for us. They are doing everything to make your stay the best it could me. The riad is extremely quiet which is much appreciated after a noisy day in Marrakech. This is a little hidden paradise!
