French owner not very friendly or interested. charge for travel to airport too expensive small boring restaurant nearly fell into empty plunge pool in hall way.
Given first aid by manager Youssef
amazing location, superbly decorated hotel, staff were wonderful and so helpful. airport transfers were arranged and helped every step of the way. wonderful evening meal and great breakfast.
Wifi can be dissapointing especially in the evening.
I loved the breakfast! Always amazing
This is a lovely and intimate guest house which is extremely well run and well located. The staff are wonderful and helpful and the breakfast (and roof terrace) and relaxing start to the day. Rooms are extremely quiet and clean and so a fabulous base to recharge within what can be a rather hectic city... Highly recommended and we'll definitely be back!
Very nice staff, helpful and pleasant, excellent breakfast on the rooftop terrace. Five minute walk to the square.
Riad is very tastefully decorated. Easy to find after their staff orients you and is in a very convenient location! Breakfast was good! Youssef and his team are excellent!
Loved it all.
Food excellent, don't bother to eat out. Staff are superb and the setting is perfect.
You might get short of water if you decide to take a long shower.
Good location. Excellent homemade traditional food. Friendly and kind staff.
Not their fault but the approach through the vegetable market can be a bit daunting
The ability and flexibility of the staff to help us feel comfortable and go that extra mile was very much appreciated. The location is good interms of distance from everywhere.
As you enter the quiet calm that is the riad you meet Youssef, a calm, Gentle and extremely helpful man. Nothing is too much trouble for him and his smile Tells you it is genuine...
The riad was a great find: with tasteful ethnic décor, and was well maintained. It is in a surprisingly quiet area near to the Saadian tombs, and once you enter the riad the hubbub of the medina seems a world away! It is only a short walk to the main square and the souks when you want to venture out. The staff, and especially Youssef, couldn't have been more helpful during our stay, offering to make restaurant reservations and arranging a trip into the mountains for us. We had our evening meal at the riad on our first night, and the food was delicious, probably some of the best we ate during our stay in Marrakech. I would definitely recommend a stay in Riad Dar Massai.
Dinner is a bit expensive, especially if you take alcoholic drinks. The way back at late hours could be quite frightening although it is absolutely safe
Location, staff service and hospitality, cleanliness, decoration, BREAKFAST... a really good choice to enjoy the real Marrakech
I stayed in Riad Massai with my boyfriend for two nights in October 2014. I really cannot fault the service at this Riad. We arrived back to Marrakesh from Agadir and had arranged collection with the Riad. The car was waiting for us and when it dropped us off we were met by the Riad's owner who took our luggage and lead us the rest of the way. He then sat us down and bought us tea and biscuits while he copied our passports etc. He gave us a really great induction to the location we were in and how to find everything and throughout our entire stay he went out of his way to help us and make us comfortable, for example, he let us use his printer to print our boarding passes. The room was nice and clean and the Riad is calm and peaceful. The rook terrace was smaller than I anticipated but having said that the weather was so hot you really couldn't spend much time lying up there anyway. The location is perfect and is very easy to find your way to and from. We had stayed at a previous Riad on the other side of Marrakesh and got totally lost trying to find it. Its only a 5 to 10 minute walk from the main square and from the tin market. We always felt very safe in this area. We had dinner here on our first night. We were in Morocco for 10 nights in total and I honestly think this may have been the best meal we had. Definitely worth the 18 euros and they also provided us with a lovely bottle of red wine. Breakfast was traditional Moroccan and served when ever we were ready for it. We always had this up on the roof terrace. Really can't recommend this place enough. It isn't a massive Riad and the terrace isn't that big, but if like us you plan to be out and about and exploring a lot that really doesn't matter. You really couldn't find greater staff and customer service. Thank you Riad Massai
This riad really is well situated and I walking distance of everything. The manager Yousef was very welcoming and spent time with us explaining the best the city had to offer. Our room was spacious with a great bathroom and large comfortable bed. (lovely linen) I would stay here again and happily recommend to others.
difficult to find - but this applies for every Riad.
Location : It's quite a walk to the main square. You also have to go through a small market to get there and this isn't so nice as you're pestered by traders. For 4 days I've been suffering from a stomach bug that is likely to have occurred from having the final meal at the Dar Massai. Key suspect, the meat samosas.
Well decorated RIAD with good WiFi.
The location was not great. It was a good 10mins walk to Djema el Fena. Ad if you were not careful it is really easy to get lost!
The staff were all brilliant. We ate in the Riad on our first night and the meal was very good. The general state and cleanliness of the Riad was very good.
traveling past the food market into the souks
Had a wonderful meal at the restaurant, best in Marrakesh. We were met at the airport by the Riad, and taxied to the center of town where we were met again by Youseff to take us to the hotel. The hotel itself was beautifully maintained and we also had access to a taxi to take us around at a very reasonable cost. Everything about the Riad was excellent.
In close proximity to the riad is a market which although interestingly foreign is a bit smelly, a minor annoyance on the walk to/from the riad.
Staff arranged travel for us, capable of offering dinner, friendly and talkative. Being picked up at the airport and taken to is always a great perk. Would recommend to people on budgets.
Beautiful interior, great location and wonderful hosts. I would definitely stay here again.
Nothing that u don't like except for the lightings in the room probably that's how it shud be like in most of the Moroccan rooms or riad
The location of the Riad is just 10mins away from Jemaa Al-Fina and a walk away from other interesting places. The Riad is tranquil, away from the hustle n bustle of the square or the heat outside.
Ok staff, rebooked at a much inferior riad for 2 nights due to overbooking on their part. And for the same price.
Gorgeous riad, excellent decor, Amazing chef, amazing roof terrasse
Staff were really friendly and helpful. Food was delicious.
Can't rate Riad Dar Massai highly enough, the rooms were beautiful, spacious and comfortable, the continental breakfast every morning was great and the location was superb, just a 5 minute walk from the main square. Also, the owner of the Riad could not have been more accommodating and helpful, constantly ordering taxis (and walking us to and from them as 2 girls travelling alone), organising private excursions to the atlas mountains and making recommendations. I'm an extremely fussy traveller when it comes to luxury and cleanliness and I really can't fault Riad Dar Massai, excellent value for money!
The beds were a little hard for one of our group, but we all slept well overall. The rooms are located off of a main courtyard area and so noise could carry easily, not that we found we were disturbed by this.
Friendly staff who were attentive and ready to help wherever they could, recommending places to visit and dine in. The Riad is situated in a small neighbourhood and is lovely and quiet compared to the chaotic streets of Marrakech, which are but minutes away. Close to all the attractions, and petit taxis stands if you want to explore the wide city. Great breakfasts to start off the day and wonderful mint tea to greet you upon your return.
