Tranquil and friendly place in a residential area of the medina - which allowed us to see a not so touristic side of Marrakech, while at the same time being in about 15 minutes walking distance to the main square. Hassan is a lovely, helpful host, and the riad a comfortable refuge from the hustle and bustle in the streets!
Monsieur Hassan is the perfect host, very friendly and hospitable. We were treated with utmost kindness and even got up very very early to make breakfast for us on the day of departure. We highly recommend this beautiful Dar!
Hassan, the manager was fantastic gave us lots of tips and could not do enough to make sure we had a great stay. Riad was very clean, comfortable and quiet.
The location was about a ten minute walk from the main square, make sure you arrange a pick up or you may not find the riad!
Very friendly place, perfect location for discovering the medina and all it has to offer. rthe Riad is very well ap[pointed and quiet and Hassan the manager very professional and helpful
We have been warmly welcomed by Hassan, who offered us peppermint tea and typical Moroccan pastries. He was very kind and glad to help us with our requests. He also provided useful information of the surroundings and showed us how to find the way back in the narrow and overcrowded Medina streets. His great hospitality made our stay unforgettable. Riad Dar Othmane is a peaceful oasis in a chaotic and colourful labyrinth!
We feel like home. Hassan is a great host, tactful and kind. Always ready to help us. I loved the wellcome. Going into this place is like an oasis of tranquility in the middle of the madness of Marrakech. We realy liked this riad. It's quiet; all is clean; very comfortable beds; good hot showers; air-condition; nice roof. First day, I recommend you pick up service to avoid be lost. Next days, you can get to main square fifteen minutes walking.
All is right.
Hassan was extremely friendly and helpful and we became friends very quickly. He was especially good about giving us tips in how to manage life in Marrakesh! Similarly, once we came to understand how the windy streets of the Medina worked, we realised just how accessible to everything the Riad was, which came in very handy for our short layover in Marrakesh.
Hassan's customer service was absolutely outstanding and he always went the extra mile. He greeted us with fresh peppermint tea and Morrocan pastries and the breakfast was beautifully presented and very tasty. He is a lovely host and we have been very well looked after.
I stayed at Riad Dar Othmane for 4 days and it was the best experience with such an accommodation. I felt better than at home. Hassan is the best host in the world. I have travelled a lot and stayed in many different places in the world but never experienced better hospitality than from Hassan. He is a wonderful and charming person. I wish there were more people like him in the world. He is very kind, very helpful and he prepares and serves the best breakfast. The location of riad is fine, not far from the main square and in very quiet street. The rooms are very cosy with lovely decoration and very clean. If you are planning to stay in Marrakech you can not miss the opportunity of staying in riad and meeting Hassan. Enjoy your stay in Marrakech with Hassan and Riad Dar Othmane.
Overall, it is a very pleasant riad and good value for money. We must emphasize the sympathy and kindness of Hassan. He was very helpful before and during our stay and he prepares a great breakfast!
Room very traditional and comfortable. Hassan was very helpful and speaks good English. We were welcomed with refreshments and bags were kindly held for us on the afternoon of departure once we had booked out. The riad itself is very comfortable and safe but the surrounding area is very poor with a very long & confusing walk to the square. The riad is not sign posted and even the taxi drivers have difficulty finding its location. I would suggest this is not a place for elderly people or those with a walking disability. However those who want to experience traditional morocco and are fit might well like its location.
Rampant everywhere which really is hazardous and not safe for everybody but especially for children or elderly. Taxis drop off and pick up quite some distance away from the riad so you will need help to get your bags to and from the hotel. Make sure you book this with the riad.
It is a clean and quiet place to stay not far from jema el fna. Very good brekfast and Hassan is a friendly host and very discreet
The Riad has been good restored. The inside place is a lovely place.
We cannot agree with the good comments to that Riad! We were very, very angry and disappointed about the support of the owner, because he knows exactly all the problems to find a Parking and to find the Riad itself. Before I wrote an E-Mail to the owner "How can we find the Riad, we are coming by car". He sent us his mobile number and the Name of the parking outside the medina. When we arrived we asked several persons for the Parking. Finally a man with a motobike accompanied us to a parking. But it was not the right parking (but we didn't recognize that). We gave this moto-man money and he phoned to the owner, how we could come to the Riad. The owner himself said he had no time to come and help us, but it would be easy to find him. It seemed clear-but, it wasn't. Then the Parkplace Guardian came to demand a huge amount "parking fee" for one day. I would not pay this huge amount and asked the "Guardian" to accompany us to our booked Riad. The man with the moto also accomponied us. We walked with all our luggage almost one hour up and down through the medina -obviously nobody knew the right way to that Riad. When we arrived our host said he would not be responsable for this disaster and it would be our problem to find the Riad. All our "helping friends" would have a lot of money and a discussion over minutes began for that. The rooms in the Riad are very small and outside in the breakfast-room you will hear everything-every little pups on the toilet. To walk inside the Medina of Marrakech is a "horror walk". The roads a narrow and in opposite to Fes or Meknes, people are allowed to drive with the moto-bike. You can't imagine how the air pollution, the smell of benzin the mass of people, and the attentivenest to crazy moto bikers are stripping your nerves. So we'll never come back to that place.
The staff were very helpfull
Hassan is lovely and very helpful. The Riad is an oasis out of the business in the medina.
It is hard to find on your own - recommend the airport transfer or you will have to pay a local to help you find it.
Hassan does a very good job in making your stay as comfortable as possible. He is also responsible for the fact that this was by far the quietest of any riads I stayed at during my trip through Morocco.
We loved Riad Othmane. Hassan is a wonderful guy and the breakfast is amazing. Very quiet, chill out and good located. Huge hug ** Jorge
Hassan was a particularly kind, friendly and helpful host who speaks good English. His Riad is located about 15 minutes walk away from the main central tourist area through narrow streets busy with local people, traders and tiny shops - this is a fascinating experience and far removed from what North Europeans are used to. The Riad is a lovely, peaceful haven from all the hustle and bustle of busy city life but is within easy walking distance of most of the usual tourist sights. We had a big ensuite room with settee; breakfasts were excellent; and the roof terrace was very pleasant. Via email I had prearranged with Hassan for a taxi to meet us at the airport and take us to the Riad. This arrangement is highly recommended because without it, plus a prearranged barrowboy, it would have been virtually impossible to find the Riad. We had a great few days here and would have no hesitation in returning. Thanks Hassan. John - Sheffield
Nothing of any significance.
Very peaceful riad but also handy for city centre. Enjoyed the rooftop relaxation space. Hassan very welcoming and attentive. Great breakfasts
"the best is also the worst being in a medina as a tourist is something to get used at"
aprox. 30 min. walk to Djem el Fna the main square
Hassan is really remarkable and every single one of the booking.com reviews is true, but I am going to repeat them: Do not miss this Riad if you ever plan a trip to Marrakech, you will definitely enjoy the full experience due to Hassan's help.
The opportunity to stay within the heart if the medina. You certainly get to experience the craziness that is the winding alleys filled with everything and everybody.
Trying to find it for the first time! That said, finding most riads if it's your first time in Marrakech and within the medina is a tricky task. There are little to no street signs and if you don't speak French you really are going to have a challenge on your hands. This riad doesn't have any signage so even if you gps is good on your phone you still don't know if you're in the right place. Someone helped us ( for a fee of course) but without that there was no way we would have ever found it.
we had a very pleasant stay and enjoyed the good location of the riad and the nice rooftop terrace!
Hassan is a very kind person. He took care of us in every moment even he gave us a small present at our departure. Very variated breakfast and abundant.
Perhaps the worst is that the main square (Djmaa el Fna) is a bit far away (10 minutes walk) but the path is very interesting. Room lack of light, a bit dark.
Fantastic riad with a super kind and friendly host who showed us directions towards every place and provided us with an amazing breakfast each morning. Could not recommend enough
Place is a bit hard to find so definitely take up the offer of arranging transport to the riad with Hassan
