tadlact work in bathroom, friendly service. The ambience is cold and impersonal, no friendly touches like fresh floweres or candles, things most people appreciate when they go to a guest house
Having had an excelent dinner at dar-ziryab a few years ago i´d always wanted to stay so I could have more of their wonderful food. It was a very disappointing experience. The accommodation was adequate, but the great disappointment was in the meals. Breakfast (included) was poor, The Orange juice was undrinkable, no water or fresh fruit, something I expect from all guest houses. The dinners were the biggest disappointment, nothing of what I expected given my previous experience. The tagine was just a piece of meat with a little clear sauce and nothing else. Not even served in a tagine dish. We were served the same soup both evenings (there was no other choice). At 25-35€ per person per meal, that was highway robbery.
The place was charming, we rented the largest room and loved the decor. We toured the rest of the hotel, since it was empty, and thought the place was really well appointed. Employee Aziza was a gem and did her absolute best to make us comfortable and assisted in a health crisis. She made our stay tolerable and deserves to work in a better establishment.
Poor WiFi in the rooms, bed bugs, and mosquitos made for extremely uncomfortable nights. The restaurant was extremely overpriced at 200 Dirham per person for dinner, and the price was never listed. The owner of the hotel asked that I pay for my stay while we were eating dinner - being rushed to pay was unwelcome. When a member of my party got violently ill five minutes later the owner was nowhere to assist in calling a doctor, translate with the doctor, or even offered to refund the cost of the dinner. He took our money and disappeared! We were warned by our tour guide that the owner had a very bad reputation and should have listened. Will not recommend.
To feel cared for ... in such a lovely building. Much thought had gone into the tasteful decor of main rooms and bed rooms. Food was lovely - and now there is a delightful swimming pool. I was the third person to use it!
Staff were friendly
only one taxi driver knew where the hotel was, other drivers had great difficulty finding it, even with a map. Also it was too far from the medina to walk. And the shower head was unstable. There was also a bit of a musty smell in the room, but to be fair that seems common in Morocco hotels
It was a pleasure to stay here as it was clean and the owner was very helpful evening taking my wife to the local chemist to translate for her so that she could get some antibiotics for a chest infection
The location is a bit far from the Fez attractions but it was no problem getting a small taxi to take us to the medina
Quiet location in a good neighborhood. Very cheap taxi fare (by meter) to get to Medina. Excellent breakfast. Very friendly stuff, although limited English. High quality interior decorations.
Hotel location is a bit hard to find. Poor WIFI signal in rooms. Parking on the street, but free.
The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The rooms were clean. Breakfast was very good.
The pillows were too hard
the owner is a great person and speaks very good german. the food is excellent, breakfast has big, good range. recommend to book a table for dinner in advance. the owner entertains the guests in a very charming way.
bath room was dark and no light in the shower. the location is not ideal, but knowing the story of the house it makes it up again.
Food was amazing - bfast and dinner Staff are well trained and fantastic Comfortable rooms
the staff was very helpful and gave us ideas on the safest, best way to get around Fes. The food was very good for the money and the comp breakfast was delicious. We had a 4 yr old and infant and they were so accommadating and gave us a to-go package of treats.
