Just a 5 minute walk from Jamaâ El Fna Square and Koutoubia Mosque, this stylish riad dates from the 19th century and combines Moroccan and Andalusian architecture.
Score from 65 reviews Excellent
The tranquility, the quirkiness, the attention to detail, the service. A great end to the holiday
breakfast and overall cleanliness. The place is renovated but still rather tired.
rooftop terrace, Hammam
The Wifi could have been better. Our transfer to the Atlas Mountains (1hr 30m) cost 150 euros. We thought this was expensive, and were proved right when our return transfer cost £42!
The Riad staff made us feel welcome. The family room was fantastic, really rustic. Food good too. A 15 minute walk from the souks, out of the hustle and bustle a bit!
Amin and staff charming and helpful - clean and beautiful surroundings nothing too much trouble !
breakfast was good, but not perfect, but you can ask for everything
The building is speechless. The terrace is amazing, very well decorated with a view of the Medina. We had a delicious breakfast on the terrace, I felt like a princess. The rooms are beautiful. We spent some time in the upper "living room", it was like being back in the moroccan history… everything was beautiful.
The area outside of Riad is a bit dodgy (but that's like everywhere in Medina) and it's a bit of a walk to the main square (20-25 minutes). Once you know the route - it's ok. In the evening/night would definitely recommend getting a taxi to/from Riad.
I can't recommend the staff highly enough! They were extremely helpful and dealt with all our requests with a smile! We didn't like the smell in our first room and they've shown us a couple of others and politely waited until we make up our mind. The hammam and the pool on site are divine. Roof terrace is brilliant for watching the sunset and relaxation.
In the poolside room we stayed in the drumbeat of the music was occasionally a little intrusive and noise from the hallway early in the morning(folks on mobiles who didn't realise there was a room on the ground floor-a sign on the door would help with this) was a minor issue.
The wonderful mountain views from the roof terrace, the incredibly helpful staff, the pool area which was a cool place to relax and take a refreshing dip. There was a good range of food for breakfast and a choice of where to take it. It is well worth trying the delicious food at the Riad too.
The stuff was really kind and helpful;When we needed to move to another riad because it was sold out for the second night,the stuff helped us with our luggage and declained our offer to tip him ; Additionally the stuff woke up at 6am to serve our breakfast before leaving to dessert trip and noone else offered that in Morocco;
No downside to this riad. Staff, service, food, facilities, surroundings were a pleasure.
The staff were excellent. The Riad was beautiful and very relaxed.
Friendly, charming and helpful staff as well as all round comfort in the Riad . They always wanted to help in anyway they could.
Bathroom ceiling had quite a significant leak during the heavy rain we experienced. Bottled water could be replaced each day The Riad was full when we stayed, probably because of the strong reviews (which are well deserved). At times this meant the service could be a touch slower than would be ideal. Going outside the Riad, Marrakech not for the faint of heart.....
Great Riad in the heart of the Medina. Service was excellent and not too in your face; the team looked after us well Very good food Our room was very comfortable and the staff were happy to light the fire for us Smooth airport transfers
The shower on the top floor was quite cold
The riad is stunning especially the rooftop. staff is super nice!
The staff were exceptional and the place is stunning. We'll definitely be returning with friends.
The wifi connection could have been better.
Great staff, so helpful and really tried their best to make our vacationn the best. Beautiful roof-top terrace and and courtyard with pool
On arrival we were greeted warmly and made to feel very welcome. The Riad was stunning, we had gone for a special birthday and were made to feel special. The staff were very warm, friendly and very helpful. It was truly a wonderful Moroccan experience!
It is not too difficult to find the Riad but it is not very close to the main square. However, this is not a big deal if you're prepared to walk about 15-20 mins.
This was an amazing place to stay while we were in Marrakech. The food at the Riad was also great as it was the best I had in Morocco. I'm sure there are other Riads that are just as nice but the staff at Riad Edward are amazing. They went above and beyond for us - for example, I had lost my wallet in the Medina and the staff still went out of their way to help me get it back even on their days off! If I return to Marrakech in the future I will definitely stay at this Riad again.
Wobbly toilet seat. Broken plug point but was being worked on.
Friendly, professional staff. Beautiful authenticity!
Wifi in the rooms were not available, price of in house food and drinks are high and one bed of the two was not very comfortable
Staff and beautifull atmosphere were great.
- No hot water in the bathroom ! - Cold swimming pool despite of the information in the website - Poor breakfast not fresh
- Space un the room - Big bed - kind but not reactive staff
The relaxed atmosphere and lovely surrounds
This Riad was beautiful & well located, nothing was too much trouble for the staff (happy to bring us dinner and beers to our room as we were so shattered). The food was incredible also. The room was spacious and beautiful. I would recommend watching the sunset on the rooftop, listening to the call out for prey, it was incredible. The staff made us feel very welcome from the minute we walked in. I don't have a bad word to say about this Riad, do yourself a favour and book!
Staff were great, nothing was too much trouble. Big spacious rooms with separate terraces was a real plus. A bit of a walk to the souks, but through interesting parts of town, and that made it all the more peaceful and relaxing back at the riad. Great place to stay
Wouldn't recommend taking teenager in for the Hammam bath, unless they don't mind stripping down to paper pants with you :). Apart from that embarrassment we loved it though.
Loved everything, from the warm welcome with mint tea and pastries, the massive comfortable bed, the fire in the room, breakfasts by the pool, rose petals everywhere and stepping out of this oasis into the excitement of the Moroccan streets.
