Score from 116 reviews Very good
Lovely relaxing riad in great part of old medina. Great pool and fantastic dinner on the wonderful terrace. Our family room was huge. Excellent staff and service. Would highly recommend!
The Riad is very homely, and the staff are great, very helpful and friendly. Good rooftop dinner and chill-out space with good views of the Atlas mountains. Nice to have a pool too.
A couch rather than a separate single bed would have been great in the suite
+ Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, they offered us a better room that was freed in the meantime, any issues had we were offered a solution immediately + Rooms clean and tidy, spacious and bright, AC worked flawlessly + Nice swimming pool + Overall good value for money, only food could be a little bit cheaper (but it's served really well) Special greetings for Simo for his assistance and hospitality :)
- Internet connection was bit flawed, the only place that I was able to connect was from the reception area and swimming pool. No connection was had in rooms or roof terrace. - The place may not be easy to find initially, especially during the night time. The "local guides" will get you back to the Riad but expect a stressful argues about their compensations. In such case call Riad first and ask them to send their staff to pick you up.
The senior suite had a sewer smell - the wifi did NOT work even after several complaints by many guests - don't be fooled by the pictures - there are other Riads cheaper and better. The staff were nice and helpful especially Simone - completely the opposite of the owner who was rude/totally unhelpful and refused to deal with the problem even though his own staff pointed out the problem of the stench of sewage in the room and the fact that the wifi did not work.
Beautiful hotel, nice welcome, beautiful room, delicious breakfast.
Extremely friendly staff.... until something strange happened at the last moment. On my departure day I was supposed to be picked up by a taxi of another hotel. Taxi could not come all the way to the door and the driver called the people from the hotel. They kept him waiting telling I wasn't ready yet, and instead had some taxi driver they knew come over to pick me up and expected me or the other hotel to pay for the costs. Meanwhile I waited for half an hour while they kept telling me that the taxi driver wasn't able to find their hotel and that they were giving him elaborate instructions on how to get there. Not so nice!! Location. It is very difficult to get to the center if you don't know your way around yet.
Couldnt went there on time because a flood blocked the roads from merzouga to marrakesch. The staff made it possible to postbone the stay without any extra charge, great food, very nice people, great view on the roof
An oasis in the mayhem of Marrakech !
We had a great stay in Riad Edward with the nicest staff. They showed a big hospitality and were very kind and helpful. This Riad is excellent to calm down after a busy day in the Medina of Marrakech. We went home with great memories of our stay in this Riad. Thank you for everything! Maarten & Stefrey (Belgium)
Amazing pool and wonderfully helpful staff. Multitude of terraces and quiet spots if wanted but other guests were great fun if you felt like a chat. Great restaurant, lemoni just 5 mins walk toward the souk - highly recommend. Dar moha a huge disappointment - the main was overcooked and bland and dessert ineatible - for a dinner with serious pricing very underwelming
Plumbing - smell from bathroom
very nice riad very clean specialy the staff rooms veery good .i loved the service. .food..
very bad location. very dangerous
I throughly enjoyed my stay at riad Edward. It is an excellent place, absolutely beautiful! Its in a great location. The staff are extremely helpful, friendly, kind and went out of their ways to make sure me and my friend felt safe and enjoyed our holiday to the fullest. The manager Simo took his time in helping show us how to get around the Madina, recommending great places to go to eat and see and made us feel very comfortable. I would go back and stay there again with out a though. 10 out of 10. I was very happy with my stay at Riad Edward.
The riad is lovely and ideal for relaxing after the mayhem of the streets of Marrakech. There's so many spots to chill out its hard to choose. The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. They helped us book various things while we stayed there. I would recommend it to anyone!
Occasionally we ordered an alcoholic drink which took ages to come due to lack of stock... But this wasn't such a big deal.
we had a very great stay in riad edward.staff were very freindly.food and drinks upon arrival.clean quiet rooms.peaceful place to stay after exploring busy city.breakfast was excellent.great tradiona lmoroccan experience.
difficult to find first time
everything was fantastic .
It's a great place with super-friendly staff and decent food. Give it a try!
Nothing really! Bit scruffy round the edges but hey!
The best thing about this place is its staff - well-mannered, friendly, kind, competent, open-minded and always available. They speak many foreign languages, including: French, English, Spanish and will accommodate you to the best of their ability. The communal area and its setting combines the traditional Riad with the needs of a modern traveller, including a fabulous swimming pool right in the centre. Lovely place just to shelter against the heat of the medina. Wi-Fi is excellent. So is breakfast. As far as food is concerned, I really enjoyed the selection of traditional Moroccan cuisine. Remember it takes time to prepare so make sure you order your food in advance. The place is kept clean 24/7. The cleaning ladies are excellent and will help you with whatever issues you may have: my wife asked one of them for a sewing set to mend her trousers and instead the lady took them and did it for her. Maybe the place is not designed as such for small children - we were travelling with a 4.5 year old - but children are welcome, absolutely adored by the staff and well looked after. Overall, during our 2 week's stay in Morocco (we stayed at 5 different locations) we had not come across such treatment and care as at the riad. Also, through our entire stay, we did not lock the door to the room, we left the room wide open. We felt we were no guests and we felt so much at home. There is a great sense of safety about this house. Overall, the stay at Riad Edward is an amazing experience. Ps: Please remember, when you choose your accommodation, do your research and find out what a riad is. We did and we found Riad Edward.
Lack of facilities for children - apart from the swimming pool. The riad is located close to the souks but a good 40 min walk to the historic part of the medina. Car parking is not really an option in the vicinity.
Staff, breakfasts, pool, comfortable rooms, loads of terraces, good internet
A few power outages, bit of a hike to the square and hopeless map
Friendly young staff, absolute care in everything from drinks and pastries on arrival to an amazingly good breakfast, sumptuous supper, beautiful tastefully decorated large rooms with high ceilings so felt spacious and cool.
We liked everything
The bed was very comfortable which was a welcome bonus after travelling around Morocco. The riad is very stylish and the communal area looks particularly beautiful at night. The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast is generous and served wherever you want it.
We like peace and quiet and often, by the poolside, there was quite loud music playing which we found intrusive. The riad is a bit of a walk from the main souks and square (lots of potential for getting very lost in the medina!) but it's easy to get a taxi.
Riad Edward is great. The swimmingpool, quiet athmosphere, friendly people and big, goodlooking and comfortable rooms maked our stay wonderful. We definetly want to come back here!
I stayed one blissful night. It is a beautiful Riad and felt magical. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The food is very good and with huge amounts! Lots of really nice little touches..for example rose petals scattered all over the bed!
nothing I didn't like
It was our first time we went to Morocco.our first stop would be Marrakech. A very colorfull, exciting city, magical city but also very crowdy...so ti was a very Nice surprise that behind the door of the Riad you find a little paradise and tranquility!!! We also want to thank the entire team of Riad Edward. A young but very helpfull team!!! Fam. Bonte
The airconditioning is very noisy
building, cats, turtle, and birds. excellent staff, Very generous. very special excperience not to be missed.
Staff are so welcoming and get out of their way to make you feel at home and get you anything you need. The riad is beautifully decorated in traditional Moroccan style. At night the whole place is lit by candle light and lanters. Just gorgeous. It'd be very romantic for a couple. Having the pool was just amazing for the hours of the afternoon. Even having a dip just before bed, so refreshing.
We had dinner at the riad once and the food was excellent, but also a little overpriced. Great for your first arrival meal though.
Absolute bliss. We really enjoyed our 2 nights/3 days here at Riad Edward. This place is truely incredible. It was quite a struggle for us to find the place but once we got through the doors and out into the courtyard we were completely blown away. We enjoyed watching the sunset up on the Terrace. But our favorite was the pool area was a dream. Loved the all tall trees, and plants. It was a very calming and relaxed atmosphere. Afternoon tea and biscuits were a nice treat and we were satisfied with the Breakfast provided each morning. The staff were great! A fantastic team run by Simone. Friendly, helpful and comfortable to be around. A special mention to Haleem! He was outstanding from the moment we arrived right up to the point where he ran with us and hailed down a taxi to the airport for us on the main street. Never without a smile on his face, and always keen for a chat, we really enjoyed his hospitality and loved his attitude. Overall, we had a wonderful time at Riad Edward and will definitely be our first choice for accommodation if/when we go back to Marrakech!
Our bed wasn't the most comfortable... And there were a couple of power outages over the three days.
