Room was lovely, clean, and breakfast was delicious.
Overall pretty much everything was perfect except the intermittent hot water in the shower. Still the best shower I had in morocco though!
Sadly, the place closed the day after i went: the olive tree in the middle of the riad attracted birds while breakfasting in the morning. The bathroom was clean and simple, the bedroom large enough fot two, the staff efficient and self-effacing. The overall decoration was authentic, yet discreet. A riad with no pretence and quiet taste, with good value for money. Shame it can't bebooked any more!
The fact that it's now closed.
This is just a magic place, a piece of heaven with a great atmosphere !!! A memorable experience thanks to a great place, location and amazing staff !!! Simply above my expectations my morning breakfast and wonderful dinner !!! The best
That we had to leave !!!
Spacious, beautiful Riad with wonderful food.
Great Riad, clean, simple but nice breakfast. Only short walk to the main square. Quiet location. Beautifully decorated.
We weren't really 'welcomed' to the hotel but merely pointed to our room upon arrival. When we were leaving again we had to pay for our room with the kitchen staff. No sign of a manager or receptionist in our 24 hour stay. The walk to the Riad was slightly worrying as it is located at the very end of an alley - we weren't very confident walking back there in the evening.
Location, traditional house well decorated
room in the ground floor noisy (close to the kitchen)
It is one of the best hostels you can find for that money.
Staff were not available most of the time.
Beautifully decorated and attentive staff. Staff prepared excellent meals. Definitely on the pricy side, but well worth it!
Location is a little hard to find, but then again so are most places in the medina.
It has an immediate and extremely relaxing atmosphere. It makes you feel at home.
The team was very helpful and friendly! They serve a very good orange juice.
It was very hard to get a nice temperature from the shower.
Riad was very charming with Moroccan style of decoration and staff were very friendly and helpful. I love their breakfast with fresh orange juice. Place was close to market and quiet , enchanting.
Our room was first floor next to the kitchen so in the morning you can here every noisy out there, bathroom was nice and clean but it was very hard to control the water temperature. And room was very dark, no privacy
Absolutely gorgeous room, decor and roof terrace...of all the places I stayed in Morocco, this was my favourite. Friendly and hospitable staff. I arrived very late and may have even woken the young man up, but he was very friendly and welcoming anyway, taking the time to show me everything about my room. The women didn't seem to speak much English (and unfortunately I don't have any French) but they were always ready with a smile. They were even happy for me to sit on the roof terrace for a while after I checked out. The location is a great taste of the "local neighbourhood" scene, fair walking distance from the square but a much more authentic experience. Would be my first choice to stay on a return trip.
It would have been really handy if they'd had maps of Marrakesh available for guests - I would have been happy to pay for one! - instead of being waved vaguely outside and left to venture forth into the unknown on my first morning to try to find somewhere that sells them. Also, they wouldn't take my card and insisted on cash payment, which I had to go out and get before leaving because I hadn't planned on it. Luckily I wasn't in a hurry! No taxi access to the door, so as usual, beware of men in the street who will try to "show you to your hotel" and then demand money.
Value for money, spacious room
Hard to find, invisible staff
Large Room, Great Location, Friendly Staff. Had no Problems.
Staff, ryad, cleanless, atmosphere were all perfect yet location is intimidating. D
The staff is very kind and friendly. They hold my iPad that I forgot on the room. Emphasize the cleanliness that is excellent as is the silence and well-being that can be felt. Is adjacent to one of the houses of the king which makes it very safe place. Return to Marrakech riad is returning to this Riad.
The Riad should care more for the cleanning of the entrance but is a Marrakech street so...
The layout of the building is beautiful and room N3 had a lovely view of the courtyard. We also had dinner there and tried the lemon chicken which was absolutely delicious and definitely the best food we had while we travelled in Morocco. The staff was very friendly and everything was spotless. We would recommend Riad El Az to family and friends as it was a wonderful experience.
Its very good value for money, didn't expect the suit is so big, kids had lots of space to run around with our own living room. It feel very homely and although the location is a the edge of the town, it still within walking distance. Staff are very friendly.
We were a bit confused as we don't speak French, it's good to have some translation tools maybe?
staff is helpful and kind, it was amazing experince
It is always with enjoyement that I return to the riad. This now my fourth time and I am now desnding my friends there! The staff is really discret, efficient and the place is well located and really nice. Thanks again to the El Az' team! C'est avec beaucoup de plaisir que je reviens au riad. cela fait deja 4 fois et mes amis y vont aussi. Le personnel est tres discret, efficace et le riad est tres joli ( a mon gout) et tres bien situe. Merci encore a toute l'equipe :)
Verey nice riyad.clean and silence. Room was so clean .shtaf were so nice and helpful.nothing to say
Location is little hard to fınd it Mike other Riyads.but No problem.shtaf helps yolu verey.
Lovely, relaxed and quite Riad in walking distance of the highlights of Marrakech. Very clean, good and quite air conditioner in the room. Excellent breakfast with every morning fresh baked pancakes (ok I missed the Morroccan Tea, but I didn't asked for it neither). The owner is very friendly and beside French he speaks also English, German and some Spanish. The beds and pillows are very good (ok if you are like me around 2 meter a little bit short but in a double bed no problem). At the roof there is a nice terrace to enjoy sunset. The location on the map at Booking.com is wrong it is at 31°37'8.73"N, 7°59'42.49"W. If you arrive by taxi, ask the driver to drop you at Rue Sidi Mimoun near the Royal Palace (in the street next to it, towards Hospital Ibn Zohr). Almost at the end of this street, ± 50 meter before the gate of the hospital there is a small alley on the right (In the dark it looks maybe a little bit scary but don't worry the people are very friendly and are always willing to help you). Follow the alley all the way to the end (don't turn right, just straight on). In the right corner you find the Riad. For me this Riad is absloute a place to come again.
If I have to think about something that was not so good, then I would say maybe the shower. It was hard to adjust the right tempareture and when it was right it became cold within a minute. But after a full day in the heat I just wanted a nice cold shower, so for me it was not an issue.
Highlights: location, excellent welcome dinner and breakfast! Located in a calm area of Marrakesh and at 7-10 min walk from Jemaa El-Fna. Nice atmosphere, cool terrace, beautiful views and the staff was always available to help.
The shower was a little bit temperamental, nothing that you can not expect from Morocco's plumbing.
The location is very bad (very ugly area) and the treatment of the staff was so bad... The man who recived us didn't care at all about making us feel comfortable... Actually he was talking to us in a very rude way all the time... Any kind word in any moment... Horrible! Not worth it at all!
Lovely atmospheric riad, calm, tranquil, cool with exceptionally helpful and gracious staff.
