A great place, tucked away just outside the main touristy areas, but close to everything. Extremely attentive and friendly staff that was always available and gave great sightseeing tips. The cool plunge pool was great on a hot summers day!

This was the most amazing first holiday my boyfriend and I could have hoped for. And it was mostly down to this amazing Riad and how incredible the staff were. Julien was lovely, but the star of the show was Saiid, who was just the warmest and most helpful person ever. He was a complete gem! The Riad itself was beautiful. We spent our breakfasts on the lovely solarium, and our evenings dipping our feet into the refreshing plunge pool. Our room was beautifully and traditionally Moroccan, and the air conditioning provided a great relief from the scorching conditions of marrakech. Our room was cleaned every day, which was lovely to come back to. Lovely breakfasts, and our every need was attended to. The Riad itself was quite difficult to find, and we did manage to get lost a number of times. As simple as it sounds, we learnt to follow the blue signs pointing to Jamaa el Fna (the professional ones, not the handwritten ones). Pay attention, and you will find the square. To find your way back, you have to backtrack and follow the signs for Bab Debbagh (this is what it says on the back side of the signs pointing towards Jma El Fna) and this will take you the majority of the way home. You will then need to work out your own technique for finding the Riad itself. My boyfriend and I looked for specific doors or things that stood out to remind us when to take a turning. Once you work out a route, it will only take 15 minutes each way to the square. We spent every night in the square, which was just magical! The atmosphere in marrakech is indescribable! This was the holiday of a lifetime, and we would 100% go back, and we would definitely stay in Riad Bab Lakhmiss again.

All of the staff were excellent, and the riad exceeded all expectations. It was a very homely place and very easy to settle in.

It was difficult to get used to navigating around the medina, sometimes quite stressful!

Loved the ambiance, very hospital. Said & Julien made sure we had a great time in the Riad.

Would have liked a bit more options on breakfast, but that's a very small point of criticism on the otherwise great service.

Rooms are clean and with A/C. the staff and owner are lovely and helpful. Beautiful courtyard and terrace. very good breakfast

just a little bit difficult to find, if you arrive straight from the airport I would suggest to use the Riad taxi service.

Fantastic Riad in a fantastic city! Great value for money. Espacialy the staff is great (Julien, Senna and our friend Said!). They will help you with everything (excursions, the prices, find your way into the medina, etc). They also make a great breakfast every morning. The rooms are very nice and it's really a romantic Riad with a nice terrace on the roof. The location is perfect. When you know the medina and the souks it's a 5 min walk to the souks and 15 min walk to Djema al Fna. If you don't know the way the staff will help you very good. When you arrive at the airport, make use of the airport shuttle Julien offers, because the Riad is hard to find the first time. You will get lost in the medina! The Wifi connection is also good. When we go back to Marrakech we come back to this riad for sure! For anyone who is looking for a riad, don't look further and book this one!

The riad is in the medina and is not easy to find it aqt the first time. Once arrived at the riad, Julien or Said gave us all the intructions for can move for the medina and find the typical places to visit. We arrived at night and were totally lost in the street and the manager of the riad -Julien- joined us and showed a place to take a dinner. This guy is a really lovely person, very nice and helpful, like Said, the man who works in the night. The riad had a beautiful terrace for take a very good brekafast in the mornings. The room was clean and have air conditioned. As the riad had empty rooms, they offered us to choose what we wanted. A big pleasure to meet such a very nice persons. Tottaly recommendable.

In this day, wifi doesn´t work, but the problem was of the telephone company.

Very difficult to find the riad. A more detailed map of the area would be helpful. Other than that a very enjoyable stay

Riad is located in a quiet part of the old medina of Marrakech, yet close (5 min. walk) to the souks and Jamma El Fna. Julien (owner of Riad) is just great. Heleped us to navigate through the narrow and many, many streets, proposed us some great shops and sites to visit. Rooms are clean, lovely decorated, comfortable, aircon works perfectly, also the wifi. Great roof terrace where the breakfast is served. For the hot summer days there is a small swimming pool in the lobby. Everything was great! Thank you Julien and your team!

One of the best Hotels I have ever stayed in. This Riad has wonderful decor and Host Julien is exceptional in his commitment and attitude. His staff as well were 10/10 and very attentive. We counted 5 or 6 bedroom Riad (so get in quick!) with a roof garden and atrium that opens out to the inside courtyard on ground floor. Breakfast was traditional Moroccan food with plenty of bread and sweet spreads which were good and plentiful! Julien also offers a dinner which is reasonably priced and very good. We didnt feel safe going out into the souks at night so this was a good option for us. Room and bathroom was great although it was hot in the room (usual for Marakech!) so Julien may be able to provide a fan at night. We did not request so unsure. The Riad is in the Medina so very close to main square and the winding souk roads and tannery are only 5mins walk, although pack a map as it is like a labyrinth! Great experience gettin lost in the markets! Great stay and highly recommend.

Julien offered a taxi service from airport/train station which we did not accept - this was a mistake! We got a taxi from the airport who dropped us in the middle of nowhere. You should take up this service as Juliens driver brings you straight to the door and much cheaper than other taxi drivers who hustle tourists. Not a negative for hotel, just a warning regarding arrival. The only improvement I would suggest is if the hotel provided information on the many day trips etc away from Marakech into desert, as we found it hard to find info and some agents were quite unreliable. I am being very picky though.

The staff were very kind at the Riad and very accomodating. Breakfast was a nice personal spread and served up on the terrace in the sun. Loved that just behind the Riad was a street which was only frequented by the locals and sold all sorts of kebabs and sweets for less than 5 dirhams!

When we were there the plunge pool was drained as it was being refurbished, which was disappointing as that had been one of the main attractions to the Riad. Also, for anyone who has never stayed in a Riad, it is probably worth knowing that the bathroom doesn't have a door and there is no key to the bedroom!

I stayed on the Raid one whole week and the experience was amazing. The Staff and the owner are very helpfull and gentle. The Breakfast is very good and the the relation between quality and price is excelent. The dorms don't have key but you can fell completely secure.

The riad is a bit dificult to find and the confusing streets mainly in the night but with the help of julien (the owner) we learn a easy way to go from riad to the souks and jemaa el fna

Julian was a terrific host - always asking how we were and if there was anything that he could do to make our stay better. Be prepared to get lost a few times - while maps are provided it's easy to get turned around while getting to/from the Riad. Julian was able to arrange all of our transportation thankfully - while it is much cheaper to arrange transportation yourself, the convenience is well worth the additional expenses in my opinion. Breakfast was great - simple Moroccan breads, but the coffee was terrific. The Riad is a huge value for the expense.

There are no doors to the in-room restroom - be prepared. While the Riad was lovely, we wished that we would have stayed closer to the Square to avoid stress while on vacation.

Lovely Riad with excellent service! The owner Julien is without a doubt one of the most service-minded people I've met. He helped us with everything from booking tables at restaurants to recommending us things to do and what to see. Our room was clean, big and fully equipped. Breakfasts and afternoons on the sunny terrace were lovely!

I've been this Riad 3/11-3/13. It was simply great. Relaxing atmosphere, comfortable clean room, delicious meal. Not only continental breakfast, but dinner is great. Staff are really attentive and friendly. Though it's difficult to find the Riad, Julien shows us good way. Enjoy entertaining mint tea.

Julien and his staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating to us during our stay. He made every effort to ensure we got the most from our trip and that we were well informed and well looked after. The Riad is located within a short distance of all the main sights within the old town and offers an excellent base for exploring the area. The building is furnished in the traditional style and was incredibly comfortable. The breakfast that was provided each morning was lovely and made even more enjoyable by the experience of eating on the roof terrace. Unfortunately, we didn't get to try the evening menu ourselves but spoke with another couple who said it was amongst the best meals they had during their stay. Overall, our time at Riad Bab Lakhmiss was fantastic and we would highly recommend this to other travellers.

This riad was a great place to stay! Everything we could need was organised for us and the service was fantastic. I highly recommend the food provided in the riad, it wad the best that we had our whole trip.

The riad was a little bit difficult to locate as the steets of the old city were like a labyrinth! However I think this would be the same in any riad with such a central location! Make sure you get directions!

The staff was amazing. I have traveled extensively and I have never had hotel staff care more about my needs then the staff here. The owner himself made a point of making sure I was comfortable and gave me his cell phone number in case I got lost or needed anything. This Riad is a 10++++++++

Great location, excellent manager - very welcoming and helpful. The rooms were basic but all that you needed for a fantastic weekend away and the meals were delicious!

It was a shame that the plunge pool was not in working order.

The location is great, near the big square and in the middle of Marrakech life. The owner helps you with everything, has good advice. The rooftop terrace is great for breakfast. Good prize for what you get.

The bed was a bit small.
