Loved Rabat and Riad el Maati: Design elements a pleasant alternative to more traditional style, superb hammam, cooking lesson, terrace dining, friendliness of staff and innkeepers, great value

If roosters, calls to prayer, school children, and the noises of life bother you bring ear plugs. We would be delighted to recommend REM and to return there.

The design was stylish and the bed was comfortable. I also enjoyed the spa bath. Breakfast was an excellent selection of breads, jams, warm honey and eggs done however you wanted. The coffee was good, too. Staff were pleasant and attentive.

The staff was great, friendly and always smiling.The premises were clean and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was quite an assortment of pastries, yogurt, coffee and tea. The beds were the most comfortable of all the riads we stay at in Morocco. I felt at home and very comfortable.Even got my laundry done by the staff. I really appreciated all the help and assistance from the staff and owner. Great place to stay at again and again. I highly recommend Riad El Maati.

What a little piece of paradise! This was the most sophisticated, elegant riad we stayed in while in Morocco. The owners and staff were so friendly and helpful, going well above and beyond expectations to organise henna-hands for our children and many other extras. Our family room was beauitful and immaculately clean with crisp, white linen on comfortable beds. Even the complimentary toiletries were lovely. The location of the irad is perfect. Close enough for an easy walk to all attractions within the medina but in a quiet laneway. The attention to detail, both in decor and service was second to none. Divine!

Very difficult to think of anything we didn't like. It was all perfect!

It was a traditional Moroccan house and people who run it take care of every tiny detail. That's include accommodation and accessories . Moreover they were so helpful and friendly

Waking up early due to the call for prayers..

We loved our stay here, and in Rabat in general. The riad has been decorated with an amazing eye for detail and style - minimalist, natural, comfortable, and Moroccan all at once. The location is great too, though do take advantage of their offer to have someone meet you at Bab Chellah (or hire a porter at Bab Chellah to take you to the riad). Once you've walked it once, you won't get lost, but that first time is always helpful. We enjoyed the meal we ate there, and our breakfasts, and slept well on the most comfortable bed we had in Morocco. The room was well heated for winter too. The owners and staff were helpful and lovely; we needed laundry done, and they did it beautifully within one day for a great price. We had trouble getting the internet in our room, and they brought up an extra router for us. I would definitely recommend Riad el Maati, especially if you've stayed in more traditional-style riads in other cities - we'll stay here again when we're next in Rabat, which I hope will be soon.

We liked everything about this riad. The owner, a lovely French lady, made sure everything was taken care of. The room was beautiful, as was the entire riad. Everything was really good. The riad was very clean. The breakfasts were simple but more than enough. If you get the chanced to visit Rabat, this is a lovely riad to stay in.

Fantastic location. Gorgeous decor; beautiful bathroom; loads of space in our room for two adults and two children; fabulous terrace complete with hats for guests! Wonderful breakfast: fresh fruit; juice; coffee; breads; crepes; yoghurt. Delightful owners and kind and attentive staff.

Laurence and Farhid are very friendly, accommodating and helpful in any regards. It feels like staying with family and friends, all employees in the Hotel are very nice. The design, layout and amenities of public and guests rooms are great with an upscale local taste. Great choice and we can only highly recommend Riad El Maati.

The Riad was very nice. Very neutral and simple in decor, not very traditional decor. The owners were lovely and very kind. Fareed was very helpful and his English was very good. They arranged for us to experience the in-house hammam, even though we asked very late and last minute and it was a great experience. We had dinner at the Riad, which was lovely and homemade by the owners wife and served to us on the open roof top terrace. She also gave us some good tips about cooking Moroccan style food. Fareed suggested to us some lovely wine from a local vineyard, which was fantastic! He also offered us a taste of a special drink he had received from his family's vineyard in France from his private collection, which was very generous. Great hosts!

The location is a bit hard to find, as it is in the old town medina and there are lots of little streets in the maze like market. The taxi that took us to the Riad didnt know the area at all and drove us around to random places, but I think this was more because he was dodgy and wanted us to pay more for the taxi fair. But once we were there we were fine to find our way around. The map provided was not very clear as it was a bad photocopy, and I feel a colour copy of the map would really help and isnt that expensive to provide. The dinner was a little pricey for the portion size, but it was very tasty. Overall, we were very happy with this accommodation.

Friendly family run Riad/Hotel. An oasis of tranquility in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Medina/Souk. Simple modern(ish) interior mixed with Moroccan tradition. Clean! Friendly staff. I would come back!

Beautiful oasis in Rabat. The owner was warm, welcoming and extraordinarily helpful. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was a great way to start the day.

My wife and I enjoyed a perfectly delightful weekend at the Riad El Maati. The staff and owners were wonderful to us, spoling us with excellent food and the yummiest cookies and tea. Be sure to order the duck, pears and fig tangine, outstanding. The fact that our room was totally wheelchair accessible was amazing. This is the only riad we have ever visited that actually had an elevator to the roof-top terrance where we ate delicious meals and enjoyed the rooftops of the old city. We especially liked the fact that the riad is in the midst of the old median, but totally convenient and easy to get to. We will be back!!!!!

The owners were wonderful and the staff seemed extremely happy to be working there. Everyone was warm and welcoming. I liked the decor: a combination of simplicity, tradition, comfort, and attention to detail. Lovely scented bath products. I tried the hamman and massage, and they were great. The riad is in a great part of the medina, off the souk street and near rue des Consuls and the Kasbah. The dinner we had on the lovely terrace was delicious: again, lovely amalgam of traditional and innovative.

Hmm. That's a tough one. I don't think there's air conditioning. We didn't check into this as it was cool enough with the fan, but mid- summer could be intense. There's good ventilation, though, and you're near the sea.

We loved this place! It is family owned and the owners live inside the facility. They were extremely helpful, classy and knowledgable. It was clean, so modern yet earthy. Just awesome!

Beautiful place, lovely people in a great location at the heart of the medina. Lovely food provided also, with nice service. The owners were great at providing advice on what to see and where to go. Absolutely recommend!

A bit of soundproofing would be good - although it was lovely hearing the sound of the muezzin and the music during the day through the windows, a gap under the bedroom door made voices within the Riad very audible, notably in the mornings where they woke us up.

apres avoir traversé quelques ruelles de la médina vous arrivez devant la porte du Riad... Derrière tout y est: calme, charme, Deco, accueil, un petit déjeuner sublime, un massage super après un bon gommage Que du ++++ idéalement placé dans la médina et pour mes déplacements professionnels
