Quaint, quiet accommodation for the authentic traditional Marrakech living experience. The room was very cosy with a good layout. It was very cost effect compared with staying in a hotel. Staff were extremely helpful.
I wish we could've got a room at Karmela next door as it was even lovelier! Unfortunately, it was booked up. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my stay and would happily book there again.
While we were booked into the Petit Karmela, we actually stayed in the main Riad as the other one was empty. I guess this made life easier for the staff. Still - no complaints, Riad Karmela is a lovely place to stay and the staff were exemplary.
Limited privacy in our room (Rachid) which was on the ground floor with a loose fitting door and curtains.
Staff are brilliant
The riad karmella is absolutely beautiful and the staff fantastic. We could not have asked for more. We would not hesitate to return and I would definitely recommend to others.
The staff were great at looking after our group and that included two friends staying at a different riad. The breakfast was great.
Riad is beautifull. Because breakfast (which is very good) is served in riad Karmela across the street it s very quiet aswell. Staff is very friendly. Nice mint tea. Location good, 10 min from main square.Would go back to this riad next time
The welcome and hospitality was excellent.
This was our first time in Marakech and to find this was like finding a pearl in an oyster. The facilities were first rate, food when we eat there was really good and inexpensive. Breakfast which was included in the price was very good. But the most of all the staff without exception were first rate
Bouchra was very helpful in providing a map upon our arrival and explained the easiest route to and fro the riad. She brought us mint tea and a little tray of assorted cookies. We love the courtyards and roof terrace and especially the fresh orange juice.
It rained the day we arrived and the floor was wet from water spilling from the roof drain.
Unless you are familiar with the medina you will never find this hotel on your own. We had the services of one of the hotel staff but there are plenty of willing helpers, who of course will expect payment (20 dirham or mad per case will do it) The hotel is in a reasonably central location and once you know your way around you can get to the Jemaa El Fna square in 10 minutes. This hotel is effectively split into 2 sections the Karmela is the better known but you share the same facilities and breakfast is taken in the Karmela. The El Nour is quieter with 5 rooms, each room has ensuite facilities and either twin or double beds. There was an air con unit and water supplied on a daily basis. Breakfast was good - with what we now know as standard for Morocco - made up of yogurt, cereals, fresh bread, meat (well sort off) and fruit. We were welcomed with mint tea and biscuits and a chat with a member of staff about the location and the sights to see and with the help of markings on a map the location of the hotel.
