Julien the Host is a nice guy. He's available 24/7 in case you need him. The Riad has a nice atmosphere and nakes you feel like home and always welcome
The whole experience. Friendliness, knowledge, and personal helpfulness of Julien. Superb facilities at the Riad which included our booked meal on our first night. Great location right on the edge of the souks, no more than 5 minutes walk from the square. Felt very safe area to be in. Spent 5 nights there in all and would not hesitate to recommend to others. A very enjoyable experience.
Nothing at all.
Everything is very good at El Youssufi: great staff (thank you Julien), clean, beautiful, comfortable, good breakfast, free wifi working everywhere. Just a bit difficult to be found, but it's inside the Medina, so "it's part of the game".
This Riad was very comfortable, warm and cosy, a home away from home, we loved it! Julien, the host, was wonderful, as was his staff. Excellent location, couldn't be better, an easy walking distance to just about everywhere. So glad we picked just this one from so many others available in the Medina at the time of booking. We realised our luck once there, absolutely wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else, and wouldn't hesitate a moment to go back again! I advise to ask Julien for anything you feel you may want/need, he'll do his best to oblige. Dinners were delicious and breakfast plentiful. Our breakfast highlights were their daily freshly squeezed orange juice and homemade yoghurt, not to forget plenty of coffee.
The communal large dining table wasn't to our liking, we would have preferred to be able to sit and breakfast in private at a smaller table. Fortunately (for us) guests tended to breakfast at different times, so finding a quieter time slot was mostly successful. Others of course might have an opposite view on this.
From the pre-arranged airport pick up which due to luggage mix up made us arrive at almost midnight to an awake and helpful owner Julian, to an elegant almost magical setting and delicious elegant breakfast- this may be the best place to stay in Marrakech! Julian the owner is so warm, present, attentive and helpful I told him he may be the best HOST EVER, in the history of hosts. There- I said it, Stay here !
This was a real hidden gem in a bustling city. Despite all the noise and chaos in the city, there is just pure tranquility once you are in the riad. The style was a mixture of Arab and European tastes and it was absolutely beautiful.
Very friendly and hospitable staff that made us feel like home, Julien was very friendly, ready to answer all our questions and give suggestions. Beautiful Riad, very nice ambience, one of our best stays in Morocco. Good location
Perfect location in Medinan. The rooms are very cozy and it feels that one is in a Moroccan home
The breakfast was a bit boring with a lot of jam.
Very friendly owner and staff always happy go help. Quiet, cool, luxury spacd to relax from the busy city. Great food!
This is an exceptionally clean riad and well-designed. I loved the attention to detail. All meals were fantastic. Julien is extremely helpful and can arrange day trips and transfers for you. Everything was wonderful!
Everything about this Riad was perfect,I cannot recommend it enough. A beautiful building with 5 individual and unique rooms - we stayed in the 'Amarillo Room'. The was a roof terrace and courtyard garden where breakfast was served - breakfast was great and they also offer dinner which we tried on the first night and was amount the best meals we ate during out trip. The staff were brilliant, the owner Julien very friendly and could not do enough for you We hope to be back in the future
Incredibly friendly and multi lingual host and staff. Very clean, neat and tidy well presented rooms and courtyard. Great location in the medina and with a divine restaurant! Top marks - great value - not 1 fault. Wish we could have stayed longer
The staff are so attentive. The Riad is very tranquil and very traditional. I would not hesitate to recommend this place as the quality is excellent.
Very nice personnel, good location, clean and charming.
The riad was beautiful, the room was stunning. Loved the roof terrace. Julian and the rest of the staff went out of their way to help you with anything you needed.
We've stayed at Riad for 8 nights and it was amazing! It is the most coziest and loveliest place in all Marrakesh, perfect hide-out from the heat, busy Souks and nagging sellers. The place itself is perfect and furbished in real Moroccan style with tiny details, that makes it so authentic and cozy. The rooms are very comfortable and nice each in it's own style and all are en-suite. All rooms face inner courtyard, which has a small pool - ideal during hot days as the terrace upstairs for some tanning. The breakfast was fabulous with fresh OJ, coffee, cakes, yoghurt and freshly baked pancakes served directly to you, not some boring buffet breakfast. The room we've stayed was downstairs and it didn't disturb as at all, if you need some privacy, just close the doors and curtains. Usually Riad is very quiet and feels very homely. The location - very good: 10 minutes to the main square and 10 minutes to the new city and you will want to visit both parts! One of the biggest assets that Riad has is Julien. He is a wonderful host and takes care of everything, whether it is the booking of the excursion, suggestion for a restaurant or other questions. He feels responsible for every guest and thanks to him, we felt like it was our home, not just any hotel...Also, we would really recommend having at least nce a dinner at the Riad. It was really delicious and the price is so much better than in some obscure restaurants in Medina. To sum all up, we would really recommend this place as in the city like Marrakesh - the accommodation makes a big difference, as you need a place to relax from all the bustle. Our big thanks goes to Julien and his team, you are truly wonderful guys and we will visit you again!!!
We loved everything!
Julien is a wealth of knowledge and he runs an excellent Riad not your standard tourist Riad.
Nothing to dislike
Manager was friendly and accommodating
Doors didn't lock but security was never a worry
Julien was more than accommodating for any of my needs! He set up multiple excursions and rides for me with no trouble at all and was always making sure that my stay at the riad was nothing less than perfect. As a young, solo female traveler I felt very safe at the riad.
The shower was a bit small and water leaked out into the bathroom, but it wasn't much of an issue.
Everything! The location was perfect, right in the heart of the old town but so quiet you could hear a pin drop. The staff were amazing and so very, very helpful. Julien recommended some amazing restaurants around the new and old town, and was so helpful with what to do and where to visit. We didn't want to leave.
Good position to reach the place and the centre of medina. Room Chocolate not very big, but very typical and comfortable. If you want a characteristic Riad for a few days, this is a good choice.
Breakfast served starting from 8.30 a.m. and if you have to leave before (excursions, airport,..) is quite poor.
This is a lovely Riad and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
This was a really lovely Riad to stay. Julien was such a helpful and welcoming host, answering all our questions and helping with booking restaurants etc.
Great hospitality. Lovelt room (fresh roses). Attention to details. Good breakfast. Safe to walk to the square at night.
This completely renovated original Marrakesh home is a wonderful place to get a full Morrocan experience. It's location on the edge of the Medina, the crowded old city, satisfied my desire to wander in the narrow allyways of this famous area, with little chance of actually getting lost. Once within the heavy studded door the sounds and bustle of the city fell away, replaced by quiet light jazz and the splash of a fountain. The courtyard, open to the sky, lets in light and air, while the thick stone walls hold out the noise and heat. The interior is beautifully and tastefully decorated in an authentic Morrocan fashion, simple and elegant. Julien, proprietor of the house, is the consummate host. He always welcomed us in his perfect English when we entered, asking about our day, constantly ready with advice and suggestions for places to go and things to see. Relaxed and informal, he was concerned with our wealfare and worked to make our stay satisfying. I find it hard to imagine another lodging that could have been anywhere near as satisying.
By design, all the rooms open onto the central courtyard. Noise carries well across the house, requiring some cooperation among guests.
