Close to main square and easy to walk to main area's and souks.
The owner wanted payment in euros and Stirling.. on second visit had booked superior room when got exactly the same as two weeks earlier only one floor up.
Facilities were poor, no hot water and no staff around to provide any services. Full cash payment must be made upon arrival and no services provided after payment made.
I stayed here for five nights with a friend. Our room was small but it was warm and clean. The owner is super nice and our short conversations with him were always lovely. Breakfast on the terrace each morning was a great way to start the day. The location is also good. Its only about a five minute walk from the nain square. Alrhough te riad is located at the end of an alleyway, the turn from the main street is easy to find and the alley is always lit up at night so we felt safe.
It was cold when we first got there but the owner quickly sorted out the heater in our room and it was fine within minutes. Breakfast was sparse but we werent expecting more inthis price.
The owner was very friendly and helpful - happy to make you some excellent tea. The breakfast was served at the terrace with beautiful views. The Riad is quite and peaceful which is what you need to escape the Medina.
Difficult to find (but this is the case for all Riads located in Medina so best to pay someone to take to there). The breakfast was rather simple. You have to wait for hot water a while. WiFi only available in the lobby downstairs.
- place in the city
- no A/C even if promised and requested
The manager expected to be paid on arrival in Euros despite booking.com instructions to pay in local currency. He was agitated and intimidating when told I hadn't any Euros. He calmed down when I could pay in sterling.
- Situated a few minutes walk from the square. - Clean Riad - Has large bedrooms, so ideal if you are with a large group of people
- I've stayed in 5 riads, this one has to be my least favourite. Very simple and dull. - Maintenance issues - Shower didn't work in one of the rooms. I told the owner about this problem and he gave me an awkward look, as if to say I'm the one who broke it (it was already broken!). He didn't bother to fix it, so we were without a working shower in one of the rooms. - Limited supplies. We were 13 people at the Riad, he was very reluctant in giving toiletries and when he did, it was limited. So we kept having to go down to ask. - Could hear odd noises continuously coming from the ceiling of one of the bathrooms, I'm fairly sure it was woodworms. - owner/manager was friendly at first and helpful at times. However, his attitude changed over time (especially after we paid him) and towards the end, we were looking forward to leaving the Riad. He didn't even bother to say goodbye or see us out. The only reason I booked this Riad, was because we were such a large group, I needed a Riad that could accommodate for all. So if you have a large family, it might be worth booking and it is close to the square. Otherwise, GIVE THIS RIAD A MISS! there are much better Riads in Marrakech.
Close to the Square.
Poor management, Same breakfast menu My door lock broken Poor customer service
Location is good, close to the big square
The owner was in the beginning very friendly ("welcome, my friend") but on the last day he changed dramatically. We asked before if we could let our luggage on our last day in his hotel because we wanted to do an excursion this day. No problem he said, but on the day of this excursion, he did not greet us at all, and to put our bags was suddenly not possible anymore: he wanted 10 euro for it.
Room was nice and clean, the staff member who does breakfast n cleaning she was really nice bur the receptionist was so rude.He didnt bother at all.
There was no heat,no internet in room only in downstairs but there were no proper sitting place just 2 chairs n they called it lounge.i check out at 10 minutes late n the receptionist turned power off .i asked for extra blanket he said no ,there was no facility of getting tea or coffee later than breakfast.
Location was excellent. Riad was clean and authentic
Owner a little aggressive Recommend you take your own towels, we were given only hand towels for a 3 days visit.
We stayed in a few places in Morocco, this was by far our favorite! Gorgeous courtyard and rooms, very clean, spacious shower (with consistent temperature!!!), and friendly, multi-lingual staff. Really great place.
It was very difficult to find at first, because you have to go through some markets and turn a corner into a tunnel-like alley way and follow many twists and turns. We had to get a guide to show us the way, but after that we had no problem getting from the riad to the rest of the city. WARNING: If a guide is showing you the way, agree on a price BEFORE he guides you and don't let him know that you have any more money!
