Lovely helpful staff. Relaxing rooftop terrace. Good location

The wifi was not great, and only really available within the inner courtyard or near the router; however, poor wifi quality was something we experienced in many places in Marrakech.
We stayed at the Riad l'Etoile du Sud et Spa for our first two nights in Marrakech, and could not have been made more welcome. We arrived already late in the evening, but were greeted with a very warm welcome, shown to our room, made feel at home immediately, and were served traditional mint tea and baklava. This Riad was so peaceful and serene that we spent much of our first day relaxing on the rooftop terrace, where we could soak up the sun and hear the birds within the courtyard. The rooftop hot tub was made available to us at all times, and was particularly enjoyable upon returning to the Riad in the evening, when we could enjoy the cool evening breeze and watch the stars. Breakfast was beautiful, with a superb selection of omelette, pancakes and bread, two different types of jam, freshly squeezed orange juice, and enough tea and coffee to enjoy throughout and the meal and after. This was also served on the rooftop terrace, and we found it hard to pull ourselves away from this comfortable setting to leave for the day. The location is very central to the sights and amenities of the Medina. We travelled by bus from the airport and were able to walk here from the bus stop; however, finding the Riad without the help of a local was tricky, as it is secluded at the end of a small alley without any signage to guide you here. The service was perfect and the cleanliness faultless at Riad l'Etoile du Sud et Spa. We did not try the spa or hammam while we stayed here, but it is nice to have the option where we were staying. We stayed in the “rouge” double room, which was very clean, comfortable and spacious for two. We were provided with clogs, slippers and bathrobes each, as well as a complimentary bottle of water on arrival. These are the small details that made Riad l'Etoile du Sud et Spa an absolute winner for us, and make it, genuinely, a highly recommendable place to stay in Marrakech.

Busy roads to get to main square. Was cold in the rooms (this was February).
Beautiful rooms and decor. Delicious breakfast. Friendly welcome. Quiet. Lovely roof terrace. Great central location to tourist attractions. Would stay again.

The Wi-Fi was not strong throughout the Riad but then again it wasn't available in many places in Marrakesh. That's Africa.
The Riad Etoile du Sud was very well located, beautiful & authentic in Moroccan style. It was very peaceful and all the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Mohamed, the manager went out of his way to provide a superb service and organise a fabulous day trip out for us which exceeded our expectations. The Moroccan breakfast was very nice & filling & the room was cleaned everyday. Towels were changed everyday which we thought was not necessary.

The paint was peeling in a small section of our room probably due to water in the wall. The towels were air dried making them stiff. The children felt their beds were too firm. There is no spa in the American interpretation but there is a jacuzzi on the roof. These were all minor issues.
This riad is tastefully decorated by the French owners. It is in an extremely quiet location, without any traffic noise. Mohammed and his brother were excellent managers. The housekeeper/cook was lovely. The safety was good. We left items in our room without incident. From the roof top, the Saadian Tomb storks could be seen nesting. The breakfast was more than enough. The proximity to sites was good.

Really beautiful Riad in an excellent location. Close to everything but far enough away to enable us to explore and also enjoy piece and quiet away from all the madness of the city.

The breakfast needs to have more variation from day to another. May be to add some cheese or boiled eggs to the same daily good breakfast they offer.
once you are in you feel comfortable. Mohammed and his brother were lovely to deal with and they can be your guide for many activities and excursions that you will never regret you participate in. The Riad is close enough to all the main attractions that you want to see. It is clean and the helper's ladies are so kind. We totally enjoyed our stay. I advice who plans to visit the old city in Marakesh to stay at Riad Étoile du Sud et Spa. It is really a lovely place.
