In Fès Old Medina, Riad Rcif features traditional Moroccan décor, a hammam and a patio with a fountain. It is just an 8-minute walk from the ancient school, Bou Inania Madrasa.

The famous spice markets and tanneries of Fes are a 15-minute drive from this Villa, as is Fes-Saïss Airport. Villa Agapanthe offers an outdoor pool surrounded by a garden and a sun terrace.

This traditional riad is 50 metres from the Medina’s main street and 600 metres from the Dar El Makhzen Royal Palace.

Great location. Omar and the staff were fantastic. Magnificent Riad.
The staff offered to arrange a licenced guide for 40 euro to take us on a tour of the Medina. We agreed, what a mistake. At the start he was fantastic, showing us many things and giving us a good couple of hours on the history of Fez and the Medina. Then the hard sell started, firstly he made us go to a restaurant of his choosing, no choice for us. Good food but very expensive for Fez. After lunch it was shop after shop, hard sell after hard sell from the shopkeepers. Each time we didn't purchase something he became less and less helpful until towards the end he wouldn't even speak to us, just shop after shop that he no doubt gets commissions for. He was very unhappy when we didn't buy one of the handmade rugs made by the 'divorced/widowed' women from the alleged co-operative. In the end he cut the tour short as we weren't buying much so he wasn't going to receive his commission from the shopkeepers. So he said it was too far to walk back out of the Medina and organised a 'taxi'. Yeah right, it was one of his mates with a small van. After a 3 minute trip he gets out, gruffly tells me to pay the driver 50 dirham and then complains about the size of my tip to him. This was such a shame and dampener on a wonderful place. While I don't blame the Riad wholly for this, they must take some of the responsibility as they arranged the tour and no doubt get some kick-back from the guide. They also told me he was from the tourist commission, but I have since found out that a government guide costs about 150 firhams (20 euro) a day.
Omar was really kind and friendly. The customer service was really good because of him. The Riad is beautiful and very close to the Blue Gate.
The breakfast was really poor, I expected a little bit more. The wifi doesn´t work inside the rooms.
very welcoming owner & staff we felt at home. Beautiful terrace with a magnificent view .Homely atmosphere.
Needs a bit of renovation .Terrace needs maintenance and furniture.
Great location and beautiful lobby area. The manager and staff are very friendly and welcoming.
I don't recommend booking tours/transit through the riad - we didn't feel we got a good value for our money in any of these transactions.
The riad is beautiful, clean and comfortable. The owners of the riad was very helpful and went out of their way to accommodate my requests. All emails were answered in a timely manner. Meals were very delicious. As a solo traveller I was given a small single room with excellent heating and as Fez was cold this was perfect for me. Though the room had no wifi it did have TV and cable with English channels. This room was exactly what I needed. Pick up from train state was free and was greatly appreciated. The taxi arranged to take me to the airport was on time and staff at the Riad will provide a wake up knock on your door if needed. Should I visit Fez again I would definitely stay at this family style Riad. My thanks to the owners and staff for the service provided.
For a two day visit to Fez i needed to be able to get to and from the Riad by myself so i requested a local map. For visitors to Morocco it would be helpful if there was a simple map that identified the location of the Riad. I was given a tourist map of Fez Medina which only help after a verbal orientation.
Position of the riad, close to the Fes medina. Internal typical Maroc style.
- Room dark and cold, without a real heating system (only a climatizer very noisy). - Bathroom not furnished and extremely cold. - Very poor breakfast. - Staff tryed to overcharge at payment with credit card surcharge never agreed nor written in the booking papers (unfortunately, it is a Maroc use to try always to cheat tourists...). At our objections, the riad manager reacted very unpolitely, shouting to us. - No restaurant avaliable, thoiugh indicated in the hotel specs.
beautiful interior, very helpful staff, excellent Moroccan breakfast, good location.
The Riad is fine and quite beautiful but clearly needs some overhaul and some more input from its management. The location is perfect but so little is done to make it cosy.
No adequate light and heating in the common spaces (some heating and a few candles would do wonders).Tea at breakfast instead of coffee is charged additionally! And at the end 5% is added to the bill when you pay by credit card !!!!
