Score from 24 reviews Excellent
The staff could not have been more helpful and really made us feel welcome and safe. The Riad is very well maintained and clean and in a good location. They organised the airport pickup which was excellant, as we were not only met but dropped off at the door by a porter, a reflief in a very busy city. It was very quite and calm and a great place to relax and re-charge. Would definately recommend to fellow travellers.
They dont take credit cards, even though bookings.com refers to a credit card commission of 4% on the web page for the Riad.
Beautiful decor with large rooms, bathroom and comfortable bed. Huge bath! Entire hotel is well presented, clean, and very peaceful. Fatima and her son were very friendly and helpful. Location is hard to find at first, but in a good location - we could walk everywhere! Taxi to from airport was arranged and well priced.
Checking out was painful!! Not only did we have to pay 4% extra to pay by credit card, but we also had to process our own receipt!! Can't believe that we were the 1st guests ever to request a computer generated itemised receipt (not a hand written scribble in French!!), or that we should be required to pay in cash (unsafe and impractical) to avoid extra fees. Breakfast was limited and with no variety or choice. Case of eat what is given or eat nothing! We requested maybe some fresh fruit salad, and the following day were given a couple of very sad, bad tasting apples, tiny oranges and over ripe bananas. Security was an issue...unable to lock rooms during the day. Although hotel is unaccessable for outsiders, management cannot guarantee the honesty of other guests! Please note that 1 old stationary bike, a treadmill and 1 weight machine (in a tiny little room) does not really qualify as a gym fitness facility. We were recommended a guide for the day to take us to the mountains/waterfall...we expected a guide but he was basically just a driver who spoke little English, provided no knowldege, had no ideas or suggestions on what to see, and could not in fact take us to the falls (we had to then pay another local guide to accompany us). We were also told we had him for the whole day "until 6pm if that is what you want"...but at 3pm he told us if we wanted to go anywhere else or have him for longer we would need to pay more...all up we paid him alot for nothing!
Fatima and Baddah who manage the Riad made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them. I really loved that it was so peaceful, a perfect place if you just want to get away from it all and just chill.
Fatima the owner of the Riad made every effort to make sure we had a great stay, from arranging airport collections and trips to advice on Spas etc
The doors of the rooms have not bolts. (Even it is very safety, but who knows)
Fatima and Bodum (Fatima's son) couldn't have been nicer or more helpful if they tried!! I will highly recommend Riad First as the staff are extremely helpful and always willing to cater to your needs. The hotel was also beautiful and close to all the souls and all other amenities. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. Thank you and can't wait to return back later in the year!! Happy New Year to all the staff at Riad First, but an extra special one to Fatima and Bodum :D! From Sade and Anita
Friendly atmosphere and good facilities.
The Riad is difficult to get to with luggage having to be portered some distance. Also the narrow streets we had to negotiate were dirty, noisy, busy, smelly, and at times intimidating.
