The friendliness and helpful staff was a great bonus, they went over and above to make our stay a pleasant one. Location is fantastic.
The Satelite television did'nt work.
Nothing to dislike, Excellent location,Excellent staff "Jalil top man", Breakfast, Tranquil inside crazy outside, and everything else the list could go on...........
The staff particularly Jalil and Mohamed are superb. Nothing was too much trouble and have ensured a return visit to this excellent Riad.
Where do I start. Upon arriving in Marrakech (was delayed by the stupid airport customs for not having my carte national on me) the driver had to wait for us bless him however he made no complaints. He took us to a lovely clean people carrier and drove straight to the Jamaa el Fna where we were met by Jalil. He explained that the Riad was not so easy to find unless you knew were you were going. The Riad was in a perfectly quiet location away from the main hustle and bustle of the main square which was most needed! The Riad was beautifully decorated and the room (we had the Oriental Suite) was STUNNING! We had dinner in the Riad on our first night in Marrakech and this was cooked by the girls who worked there.. the meal was delicious as was the service provided. Jalil service and attention to us was impeccable. He was attentive and organised a really good tour for us. The breakfast was delicious and consisted of fresh bread, fruit, juice and homemade yogurt. If you want anything else other than what they served you only have to ask and if they can serve it they will. The room was cleaned daily and the staff offered fresh mint tea every time you come back after a day out... all in all a great place to stay and when i do go back to Marrakech i wouldn't hesitate to stay there and will definitely be recommending to my friends...
Jalil and the team Location Value Roof top terrace
Evening meal was expensive. Better food and value in Medina
The staffs are wonderful and very nice during our stay.
The water pressure and the breakfast is the same on everyday ....
As mentioned in the other reviews, superb service from the staff. Room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. We were lucky to have a morning breakfast on the rooftop terrace (given it was end of January, it can be quite chilly in the mornings). The breakfast was nice and generous but almost the same every morning. If you were to stay there for a few more days it can be a little repetitive (We really enjoyed the homemade yoghurt!). Dinner at the Riad was very good, although a little bit expensive it was still worth it as the staff did put a lot of effort in it. As for the location, it is well located at a quiet street just 5 min from the medina square. Do make use of their pick up service from the square, as it can be difficult to find the way on your own. Tip: If you are visiting the Riad during the winter months, do bring a pair of warm slippers for in the rooms.
Although the Riad is well located, it is really tucked away and a lot of young local kids/youngsters were hanging around the front door. No real danger, but you still have to be careful. Dont try to shower for too long as you will be running out of hot water very quickly. We asked the manager to suggest a hammam place for us. He booked it at a place called Isis. I would give this a miss. Our hammam room was on the topfloor and the steam room/marble stone was just icy cold. You can imagine being pretty much naked lying there is no fun. When we complained its cold, the lady just simply turned on the hot water, so there is a 'bit' of steam in the room. As for the scrubbing part, maybe because we were early customers, the lady was definitely not up for it. If you still decide to give it a go, then I suggest you bring an extra pair underwear. We expected to be offered disposables ones and were not told to bring extras and only realised at the hammam that we had to wear ours during the hammam session. So you can imagine wearing wet undies in the cold weather back to the Riad was not so comfortable. On top of that, their card pay machine was apparently 'broken'. So we had to walk all the way to the ATM to get money.
The courtyard ambience was excellent
The breakfast offered was poor and staff slightly overbearing
Excellent staff and service all around. It's in a great location on a quiet street in the medina within a short walking distance to everything. The lobby area of the riad is very nice place to relax (although the fireplace in the picture is not a functioning fireplace which was a bit of a disappointment given we were there in December and it gets chilly in the evening). The riad itself is a new renovation done in traditional Moroccan style so don't expect a historic grand old riad but rather a tastefully done rendition.
We had problems with hot water and water pressure in our room. We couldn't take a proper shower the entire time we were there which is pretty problematic in a city like Marrakech. The water would completely stop coming out of the spout mid-shower and the temperature would change drastically when the water was flowing. They said there was a problem with hot water in the whole area but to the best of my knowledge hot water comes from a hot water tank in the building and not through the municipal infrastructure. Our room was also not the most tastefully appointed and was situated next to the terrace which could be quite loud. My bet is that there are better values for the price out there.
- Hisham was awesome! - Great hospitality - The Riad is *gorgeous!* - Location is not bad, make sure not to get lost though
- Other guy wasn't very friendly
Assisted us with everything we wanted, we missed our flight due to delayed in buses but the Riad team even came and dropped of our bags in the airport, unheard of the level of service they have! We cherished our time their and recommend it to everyone who sees this post, try it for yourself and experience Marrakesh in its glory with an open mind.
I enjoyed all aspects of my stay, I can imagine if staying bottom level there can be some noise but top level which was the best range where we stayed is well worth it!
Excellent service from all of the staff, very friendly and personal contact - Room was beautiful, nicely decorated, clean, spacious and comfortable. Great rooftop terrace with seats, sunbeds, lounge area etc. - a very nice place to have breakfast in the morning sun.
I can't think of anything that I was disappointed about, we've had a wonderful stay and would certainly recommend to anyone seeking a quiet little hotel right in the middle of the action of Marrakesh
