Score from 83 reviews Good
The inside of the riad was beautiful, the pool was clean, everything was amazing.... until you try to walk somewhere, lol. Plenty of hot water, etc. The wifi worked well while it works, but it didn't always work.
Do yourself a favor and take a taxi instead of walking thru the souks. The $5 for a taxi will save you hours of being lost. 15 minutes away from the square only if you walk at top speed, and know exactly where each turn is. A taxi is totally worth the cost.
The location is unsuitable for solo travellers. I am a solo female with masses of experience of travelling to third world countries alone, with no problems however I had three nasty experiences in the alleys leading to the riad, including sexual assault (day 1) attempted robbery(day 2) and (day 4) witnessed a single man being severely harassed and almost assaulted by 4 men. This is not a location that I would recommend to anyone. It is situated down some very dark alleys, is hard to find and there are rarely any other tourists around. Men and children hang around outside the riad and it's very intimidating. There are many other riads, less expensive and in better locations. I couldn't wait to leave and only managed to stay for the duration by going on many excursions out of the city. Do not go there, unless you want hassle and (in my opinion) danger!
Alex was excellent She gave us amazing information the first morning and taught us how to haggle Throughout our stay she constantly helped and gave us information and extended a late check out the day we were leaving all most appreciated She was the perfect host The Riad is beautifully decorated and is the perfect base for the Medina and the Souks
The breakfast staff where not very friendly Not suitable for 2 female travellers on their own - area not safe after 10pm so felt like we had a curfew Recommendation from Alex for Moroccan night at Hotel Tazi to be avoided - awful experience; overpriced at 400 dirhams a head (€80 for 2 for dinner is shocking! We had much better experiences for €10 each! The food was in-eatable (the meat very fatty and we had no idea what the other dishes served as part of the deal) lastly the service was desperate - the waiter basically ignored us for the night - left hungry and had a bad impression of Moroccan food as a result. Hotel Tazi for dinner was not reflective of the amazing food to be found - DO NOT TAKE UP THE HOTEL TAZI OFFER!
we loved our stay at the riad! the staff was so nice and their english was really good (just because some people wrote a negative comment on this) and the furniture and interior design is soo charming! we would love to come back again soon!!
the only thing that was quite tricky was the first try to find it, but i think it would be good the ask the hotel for pick up service and the wifi vonnection could be better
The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a variety of places to relax, sun loungers, terrace, pool. Room was clean and private as was bathroom. Alexandra helped us to arrange trips and helped us to find our way around. Perfect location, close to main square once you got the hang of the twists and turns to get there! Would definitely return on next visit.
Alexandria the hostess is just fabulous. Helps with Everything. Maps, how much to pay taxis, excursions. Super riad with clean and well decorated rooms. A bit far from main square but alex's hospitality would make me return.
The location on Booking.com shows the Riad is much closer to the Medina than it actually is. The way to get there is much difficult than anticipated and we did not feel very safe. Also it was hard to find staff in the Riad when we needed help with anything, such as at one stage my husband and I wanted some tea at night but could not find anyone, despite the fact that the menu on the hotel states that the Bar services are available through the night, to ask for this plus our rooms do not have phones, I had to use my international roaming to contact one of the staff. There is also no safe in the rooms, so we carried our valuables with us.
All the staff were very friendly and accomodating. We were traveling with our 9 month old and staff bent over backwards to make sure we were all happy and comfortable. Beautiful Riad only 15 minute walk from square. Situated on a lovely quiet street-nice retrieve from the hussle bussle of the souqs and square.
owner lady was very friendly and helpful. the location is quite easy once you get used to, but still need someones help for the first time. pay no more than 20MAD to the young ppl to show you the way, don't try to get there by Gps app, it never work in anywhere in morocco.
This was in the heart of the Medina area, Staff where very friendly and gave a good introduction to the area and the sights.
Alex gave helpful advice. Breakfast was good especially with the view of the snow covered Atlas Mountains.
It was very difficult to find even after a couple of days you needed to really be very mindful of where you were and how to get back to the Riad. The local teenage boys certainly felt threatening. We found Marrakech to be a very unfriendly money driven place where scams were happening often.
Inside the hotel sehezade room was good. They arrange the tours very quickly.
The location was very bad. Only one person understand english in the hotel and we met her only once in the hotel during our 3 days staying.Be prepare to justiculate. The hotel is infested with cats. We stayed in two different rooms. The first one was downstair and the shower area was overflowing into the inner court yard. We asked for cab from the airport to pick us up and when we got out at 01.30 AM (mid night) nobody was there for us. We called the hotel and the person was not speaking english.( It was a really a nightmare at that time. Finally the taxi came and he was good person and handed us over to the hotel person and we had to walk almost 300 meter to reach to the hotel. The area (surrounding people is not good at all, you can smell cannabis.) On the last day suddenly they changed us to a different Riad ( which was adjucent). Fortunately that was much better room, so we do not have much complaint about it.
Very friendly and competent staff. They offered to take us to a local food stand in the first night and helped us to get to the main sites and attractions. Always with a big smile on their faces. Only the english speaking level should be better.
Wifi not working on the terrace was the only inconvenience we faced during the 3 nights staying.
The place is fantastic and the atmosphere is familiar and relaxed. The staff is what makes the place so wonderful. I spent 5 days in the riad and i really enjoyed it to the fullest.
Well situated, nice people, good service and good advice about the city. Loved the air conditionning, marrakesh is so hot sometimes...
This country hates plumbers and plumbers hate them....
the terrace on the roof was a nice peaceful space to relax and sunbath. we difinitly recommend getting the trans fare provided by the riad from the airport otherwises you will never find it
we booked this riad coz of the pool when we got there the pool was unusable there was dead insects on the top lots of dirt in the bottom of the pool and leaves, we stayed for 5 days and on the fifth day wen we were leaving they had to drain the pool it was that bad. the breakfast was very basic so we did not eat there after the first morning. i booked this on the other reviews and we were very disappointed. the location is also a problem down a lot of lane ways so we got lost lots of times
The room are beautiful. I love it! We stay 2 times, before and after desert tour. We stay at a room 1st floor was better. It was warmer than ground floor. The staff was very friendly, kind. We missed breakfast before desert tour, he made quick jam sandwich then give us this with some orange.
I wanted to have a bath, but hot water never get full in bath tab. So I had shower...
Attention to detail: a warm welcome on arrival with a full explanation on how to navigate the Madina. Staff warm and friendly, happy to help with any query. Presentation at breakfast and dinner. Well thought out and varied menus.
A tough one, despite their best efforts, it was cold.
We felt so pampered during our five lovely days at the Riad. When we first arrived Alexandra had prepared some mint tea and delicious local pastries for us to enjoy while she gave us a very helpful introduction to the city. Our room (sultan) was decorated with rose petals and had all things needed for a comfortable stay. Every morning we got a delicious breakfast with freshly pressed orange juice, coffee, home made, yogurt, pancakes, bread and fruit. The Riad itself is a gorgeous building with many cosy places to sit outdoors while enjoying the bougainvillea, banana palms and cuddly cats. We'll be back real soon!
A riad with real character and style. Great food
Alex is super good host :) We got welcoming tee with info about Marrakech. Riad is with beautiful patio and roof terrace!
It was a bit cold in room, a bit dark, but cosy...and we had hitter. We had room in first floor, so we heard all people coming in and out, as well all calls to riad, too loud for us. Location was a bit far from live streets so it was not so pleasant walk beck to riad after it got dark, but still ok if you are not alone. Do not try find it yourself with arriving, book taxi from riad.
The ryad was very peaceful and comfortable. Otman was very nice and helpful.
They are not good at answering phone calls.
Staff were very warm and helpful. Food was served whenever it was convenient for us and very cheap. Rooms and the riad were very clean and peaceful. A pretty little riad!
The location is central and very good, but as it was just two girls, walking through souks in Medina every day to get to our riad was a bit of a nightmare. But once through the threshold, it was a little haven amid the madness. The rooms were cleaned every day, but one of the days everything was reorganised, things were moved, even my wallet left inside of the closed suitcase was moved. Nothing appeared to be missing, but still completely unacceptable.
the owner did response e-mail before arriving and gave details direction how to reach the Riad by bus or taxi
very difficult to find it
