We had a fabulous stay at this Riad, from the moment we walk into the door we were greeted by a warm welcome. The smell of roses are abundant everywhere. Karim and her staff are very genuine and make you feel like home every time you walk back into the doors after a day of exploring Marrakech. The riad and rooms are beautiful. Little touches of detail everywhere... Do try there Hamman as it's a wonderful experience and feels awesome after a day walking or touring.. Aloha.....
Everything. This is a jewel in every aspect. Wonderful Reception from KARINE AND STAFF. EVERY COMFORT PROVIDED- Every request serviced with style and a smile. Exceptional.
Not a complaint.
Absolutely everything. Location. Staff. Service. Food. Hammams.
Porridge Soup as a breakfast item!
The building itself is a jewel and was renovated with much taste, in all details. Everything was perfect, the personnel very kind, central location yet very quiet. I loved the place, I highly recommend it and can't wait to go back :)
Not an issue as Oscar accompanied us to/from the taxi, but the place is not accessible by car.
I recommend this RIAD without hesitation. From the moment I made my on line booking to the point of departure, the service was faultless. As soon as the reservation was processed, the RIAD manager Karine emailed me to confirm the reservation, acknowledge my wife’s dietary requirements and offer to arrange an airport transfer. 24 hours before our arrival, I received a re-confirmation of the airport pick up, re-statement of the dietary requirements and a listing of the dinner menu for the night of our arrival. This latter point was actually very important, because it is a frequent occurrence in our experience that hotels forget pre-notified dietary needs, and don’t actually prepare a different menu, they just omit the items of concern. On arrival we were escorted to the comfortable courtyard area and relaxed with mint tea and home-made pastries before being taken to our room. Our room was bright and airy – all the rooms are uniquely decorated – the website gives a true representation. Soft furnishings are to the highest standard and the Egyptian cotton sheets were as fine as silk. Although not part of the B&B package, the RIAD is able to provide pre-booked dinner each day, and this was delightful on the roof top terrace. Every night we had a different 4 course dinner of beautifully cooked and presented local dishes for just €35 each. Breakfast changed daily as well, and was also served on the terrace. Our room was efficiently made up whilst at breakfast and dinner. The RIAD manager, several escorted trips for us including a cooking course at a local hotel – again she was very good at sorting the cooking school menu met our dietary needs. The RIAD has 5-6 rooms and is located in the Medina just off one of the main pedestrian thoroughfares (which are also used by donkey carts and speeding mopeds), just 5 minutes from the Souks and 10 minutes from the main square of Jemaa El Efna.
Having to come home
The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with everything. The Riad is beautiful - an absolute oasis in the middle of marrakech. Food was delicious and we could not recommend this place enough. If you are coming to marrakech, want to stay in the heart of the city yet also be in a 5 star environment, then this is the place to come
It was an oasis for us in the middle of Marrakesh. The hotel is truly beautiful. It mixed old world charm with modern amenities. Location is perfect and breakfast was delicious.
Wifi was a bit weak
The manager Karim who could not gave been more helpful. Her advice on all matters was excellent. She is also very protective warning against scams etc. Pall the staff were so good. Hopefully we will return
-the beautiful design of the hotel -excellent breakfast and dinner -customer service at both the front desk and in the restaurant
-difficult to find - should have better signs indicating where the riad is located
Amazing stay. Nothing short of spectacular. Brilliant staff. It would be a mistake to stay anywhere else.
If you enjoy luxury, sophistication and elegance... This Riad is definitely for you. It is located in the chic Dar el Bacha neighborhood (very chic in comparison to Marrakech's alleys not Belgravia!), this Riad is an oasis of comfort and class with all your needs kindly catered to by the staff. From in-riad dinners to reservations at top notch restaurants to cars and drivers, the hotel manager can do it all. Trust her recommendations, she doesn't miss. Karine, the manager is a jewel. I stay at hotels weekly and the service doesn't get this personalized. There are plenty of big names in Marrakech but if you want the authentic experience then Riad Idra won't disappoint! The smallest of details is thought of. It is impressive!
Nothing I can think of! All was brilliant.
The hospitality at Riad Idra was outstanding. So attentive and welcoming. Our room was beautiful, one of the nicest we've stayed in and Karine and the team made our stay a really memorable one. We'd recommend the hammam and dining at the Riad at least one evening of your stay. Can't speak highly enough of Riad Idra.
Just as Marrakech would rank near the top of any list of exotic places in terms of history, culture, and romance, so does the Riad Idra rank at the top of any list of Marrakech hotels and guesthouses in terms of service, creature comforts, and cuisine. In the 20th century a local official, his two wives and a large flock of children inhabited the Idra. The 3-story walled structure is modest on the outside in accordance with the local custom not to flaunt material wealth. But when we walked through that non-descript door with the “105” on it, we entered a world of cultured luxury not often seen for the last hundred years. Our arrival at the Idra was met with a friendly enthusiasm that was nothing short of surprising. Our luggage magically disappeared into our room while we were ushered into the inner courtyard bedecked with exotic flora, sweet breezes, and songbirds bathing in the marble fountain. Relaxing on cushioned chairs, we were treated with cool towels soaked in real rose water. Cups of Moroccan mint tea and cookies were served by the world class Maître de (who’s honed his skills serving the likes of Sir Sean Connery and President Bill Clinton) whiles the manager, Kareen, introduced us to the history and geography of Marrakech. That was all in the first 5 minutes, and it got better from there. To get the most from Marrakech you need to plan your days. The Idra staff put some great tours together for us. We ended up staying there 7 days with lots of 1-day excursions and an overnight in Casablanca. Moroccan delicacies were prepared daily in the hotel kitchen. And we were provided with anything we asked for literally anytime day or night. I don’t generally like spas, but I don’t advise you to leave Marrakech without trying the Moroccan Hammam (spa) in the hotel. It was amazing. My wife and I travel over 100,000 miles per year and we both agree the Idra matched any place we’ve stayed anywhere.
The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The decor in the rooms is very classy. The Riad is really an oasis.
Best service even experienced in Morocco, friendly staff. Reasonable price.
Friendly staff, excellent facility with charm. I enjoyed the stay very much and would recommend to others.
Very well designed, quiet, delicious breakfast and most of all the staff was extremely helpful and friendly.
The staff were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble, We were very pleased with our choice.
What to say and where to start… The experience in Riad IDRA has been amazing. Everything was perfect for me and my girlfriend. The location first: very close to the souk but also very calm and quiet once in the Riad – we could only hear the birds singing. The food : breakfast was very good – especially the yoghurt which was out of this world – We had dinner twice and it was excellent – I can’t forget the couscous Royal!! My girlfriend had the massage with Hanane and she came back fully relaxed and smelling good orange blossoms. The setting, the staff, the food – everything was so peaceful and romantic that I planned to propose to my girlfriend at the RIAD. Karine and the staff were very helpful and carried out the plan with absolute professionalism and discretion. On the day of the proposal and after a wonderful evening at La Pause nested into the Agafay hills in the Marrakesh desert where we had wonderful tagines in a very romantic setting where we could admire an exceptional sunset, we headed back to the RIAD. When my girlfriend opened the door of her suite, she could see rose petals on the bed forming the letters “Will you marry me?” and on top of that 2 criss-cross hearts. There were candles and bunch of red roses everywhere. My girlfriend was first shocked and surprised as she didn’t expect it at all – We were still wearing our swimsuit under our jeans when we came back from La Pause… But the lights from the candles, the perfume from the flower and the rose petals worked all together as a perfect combination for a romantic proposal- She was deeply moved and had tears of joy in her eyes when she said YES!! I could not thank enough all staff members from RIAD IDRA for this unforgettable moment – it was pure magic! Thank you Karine, Omar, Redouane, Hanane, Salah and Hicham for making this whole journey a privileged moment.
Not a thing!!
Wow. This was a really great hotel in Marrakech. We came many times but the hospitality of the employees of this Riad were really fantastic. I want to say a big thanks to Karine who organised many things. Beginning with a very warm welcome email where she asked for the time of arrival for being sure to be at the front desk until simple transport organisation. Everything went well and all the people were very courteous. Very enjoyable was the fact that we could get a late breakfast. Thanks a lot for the pleasant stay.
Beautiful Riad, extremely comfortable in a great location. Beautiful roof terrace. Excellent, excellent staff.
Absolutely everything. Karine and her staff for their help and advice. Breakfast on the terrace - a truly Moroccan experience. Dinner unbelievably delicious. The décor of our room and throughout the Riad was beautiful. Equal to any 5 star hotel. Easy access to the excitement and atmosphere of the medina, yet itself a relaxing, homely oasis to return to each day. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Marrakech.
Not a thing!!
This Riad is the perfect place to hide away and relax in the Medina of Marrakech. The complete staff picks you up as a family member from the first to the last minute. After exiting hours in the crowed Souks and Plazas it's like coming home going through the entrance door! The owner and his staff have made this place to an excitement within the city. Perfect styled Ambience in all details and people who are proud to comfort you in their Riad.
The manager and her staff are both professional and personal at the same time as you find in most leading hotels of the world, a true home away from home. The attention to detail and quality of the Riad is that of a 5 star hotel. I stayed at the Mamounia the weekend befor, but for in the Medina I can recomend you stay here and feel at home. Thank you for your attention to my guests and me. M.
That I didnt book the whole Riad. Next time I will.
Excellent, very well-managed hotel. Great room, great breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff.
