Big rooms Very Clean Amazing Wifi Lovely breakfast Great location safe area walking distance from market but also personal
staff didn't speak English no soap/shampoo for shower hair dryer and iron upon request the last few days of our stay staff kept hassling us to pay (we obviously weren't going to leave and run away!!) no converters for the electricity plugs (we couldn't charge our phones)
Great riad, highly recomended!!
Staff were very friendly
Everything! Very good location, clean, spacious and tastefully decorated. And, first of all, placed in the medina, close to everything (the souks, Place Jemaa el Fnaa, Bahia Palace etc.) The manager, Jean Christophe, beyond the warm hospitality, gave us a lot of information that have been very helpful. Terraces - splendid! I recommend this riad to all the travelers to Marrakech, and I'm sure I will again choose Riad Jade Or for my next trip. I regret only one thing: that we refused the transfer from the airport provided by Jean Christophe, thinking that we could do better ourselves - I strongly recommend to all to accept and follow all the advice from Jean Christophe - proved to be the best! Excelent holiday, thank you, Jade Or!
- you can hear noises from other rooms of the riad, and also creak doors - that can be annoying in the quiet mornings. - if you chose to reach the riad by yourself (at the arrival in Marrakech), you are expose to a bad and stressful experience. You can avoid this by accepting the transfer provided by Jean Christophe.
Breakfast, ambiance, friendly helpful staff, nice decoration. The Riad felt like a safe haven within the chaotic city. We felt quite home there. It was safe for our child.
A bit noisy, you hear every breath of the other guests. It was difficult to lock the doors. Location (difficult to find). One thing was a bit misleading. We had an agreement about getting picked up at the airport to bring us at the Riad. The guy dropped us off at a square and then another guy walked with us (putting our bags in a carrier). Arriving at the Riad, the guy wanted money.. and one euro was not enough, he wanted at least five. Of course, this was a nice warning for how almost everybody will treat you during your stay in Marrakech. I think, the Riad should arrange something.. so that everybody gets their part of the 20 euros (which is a lot.. you can take a taxi to the airport for 3 euros).
When we first made our way to the Riad through the back roads and alleys we thought "what have we gotten ourselves into." The alleys are a bit sketchy the first time around - but then you arrive in this quaint, pretty, peaceful Riad with everything you need and none of the extra bells and whistles. For the price you get excellent staff (Abdel was great), unlimited Tea (which you need to have while in Marrakech), free breakfast, and an EXCELLENT location. Abdel was watching the Riad while Jean-Christoph (owner) was away for that week. He was extremely nice and accommodating. Abdel was always there when needed and did his best to help my friend and I when our plans suddenly changed. The Riad only has five rooms so sometimes you feel like you have it all to yourself - an oasis within the chaotic city. You can't get a better Riad for the money in my opinion. And with its location down narrow alleys, you really get the great experience of what it would be like to live in Medina. Jemaa El Fna get extremely loud at night so it was nice to be tucked away from all that noise in the Riad but still only be a 5 min walk to the souks and 7min to the square. You should stay here for the experience!
No Soundproofing in rooms - so you will hear everything going on at the Riad from your room (maybe bring earbuds so you can sleep). The alley that leads to the main square and souks may scare some people away (but you soon realize it's not scary at all but more of an adventure). It can get cold at night (especially on the ground floor) - so bring layers. Wifi was choppy and I kept loosing connection when I was online even when sitting within feet of the router. The seating on the upper patio was not the cleanest and always seemed damp - so I stayed away.
The staff was understanding.
The room we have booked initially was inhabitable - mildew, sewage smell and humidity. The manager said that is why it was cheap!!! stayed the night in upstairs room - too small, cold and ran out of hot water after 1 person shower. I asked to cancel reservation but not possible so manager moved us to downstairs room which was ok but bathroom was worse for few nights then would have to move to next door Riad107 for the rest of vacation. Riad107 is much better than this.
Traditional riad and very reasonably priced. Good location and staff gave guide to souks, square, etc.
Beds hard or too soft. Riad not staffed 24/7.
