The roof terrace on a sunny afternoon and pancakes for breakfast!
It is not easy to find, especially when trailing luggage. Best get a taxi from the airport.
An authentic, traditional riad for a great price. The staff were very accommodating and spoke English.
The riad was extremely difficult to find - after getting to specified coordinates and searching the area we needed to phone the riad for the owner to come and find us! We would never have found it otherwise as it is in a back street closer to another car park other than the one identified.
We stayed for two nights. The Riad was spacious and clean and we got to choose the room out of two available. The location was fine, about ten minutes walk from Dzama el Fna. We had a very enjoyable chat over breakfast with the lady who checked us in and we learned a lot from her about life in Marrocco. I definitely recommend the place.
Riad Jakoura is a good option if you want to stay inside the Medina. Do not expect one of those "ali-baba fake" riad's, this a true and simple moroccan house. And after some days I really felt like home. Mr Mohamed is a nice and peacefull person, always around to help you with anything you need, or just chat while having some tea. The place is simple but a great choice if you are looking for a fair place to sleep while traveling to Marrakech. Breakfast, tea, a room with bed, shower and AC. What else do you need? Mr Mohamed and Valerie, thank you very mutch for the "goodbye" dinner that you made to me, you are great!!!
Nothing to complain, but adding some fresh fruits and/or juice to the breakfast may be a cheap and healthy improvement!
The owner and manager where simply incredible. Sooo very helpful, nice and generous. Will recommend at all times to anybody travelling to Marrakech.
Having to leave for home!
I travelled with my parents, aunt, brother and very young son. Valerie and Mohammed where a real help to enjoying our stay we almost forgot we were on a trip till the last day! We travelled in through Casablanca and finding the place wasn't any problem at all. We only got the arranged cruise conductor to call the phone numbers available on their site and thy were there waiting at the agreed stop for us! Having had a night travel, we were in serious need of the bed and I tell you, we woke up into the arms of these very warm people. communicating wasn't a problem as they both speak English. I most mention if not directly that these wonderful people went an extra mile to offer us their not inclusive amenities which isn't a part of the plan at NO EXTRA cost and they did it whole heartedly! They are a real wonderful people that my a lil hard to please father is already looking forward to being there again!!! Valerie, Mohammed, if you guys can read this, I'm using this medium to say a very big THANK U for all and more on behalf of my family. We found not just a host but a family in you both. We pray for God's continous blessings on you both. I sure won't stop elsewhere when next. You are highly recommended. Your warmth speaks for you. My lil boy hasn't stopped asking for his friends, lol.
Everything. Their acceptance, their nicely air conditioned rooms and very warm beds. Hmmmm, breakfast? Mohammed never stopped trying to please us. Whoever wants to be around good people shouldn't miss out on riad Jakoura!
A gorgeous haven of peace and quite but so close to the hustle and bustle of the medina. Great airy rooms, the place is good value, with a nice breakfast and plenty of pleasant spaces to sit. Mohamed the owner is a delight - so helpful and pleasant, he really added to the experience. We did a couple of trips form the Riad too - both well organised and great value. Can't fault this place - it felt like a home-from-home. We WILL be going back.
Nothing really. I guess you could argue that you could get a similar place closer to the square but then the 15 mins walk through the souks to this Riad is a joy and at the end of it you get a good peaceful night's sleep.
We stayed at riad jakoura for nine days. The host is very nice, he made us delicious soup and juice and even gave us a ride to the airport. The rooms are nice and clean and there's a rooftop terrasse which we used a lot.
Lovely and affordable riad in the medina. I loved my stay there.
De host was really nice and helpful Every day clean towels and new toilet paper Choice of available rooms at arrival Easy on payment
There was no shower-curtain so the bathroom gets really wet The bathroom door can't get locked Internet not stable, but this was not the host's fault.
Hard to find. Should have indication from the main street
Amazingly friendly owner and staff, learnt alot from them. Good location once you get your bearings! if you have trouble finding the riad you just need to contact the owner. would stay again and recommend to anyone. missing my mornings relaxing on the terrace.
Nice helpful staff. Quiet location away from the craziness of Marrakech streets, just a few minutes walking to the Medina. Raid usually sends you directions.
Bed to hard for my taste. Access hard to find on some dark alleys and no signs. Be sure to study you're route before.
Friendly staff and only ten minutes walk to the centre of the old city
breakfast was very basic
This was my first stay everin a Riad, Ideal location for visiting the city right in the hub of local life. Plenty of hot water, nothing was ever a problem. I would recommend the airport pick up as may be difficult for the faint hearted to find.
Minor issue was the 3day tour booked via the Riad, unfortunatly we had a driver rather than a guide, would have liked someone that either knew the answers to the questions or was prepared to find out, but places visited and value for money was excellent.
the owner is very nice, the place was very clean, good wifi connection
I was there in January and the room was quite cold, the breakfast was always the same
Wonderful place with very helpful owner.
Take the airport pickup. Local "guides" too stressful and it`s impossible to find (the first time) with maps.
The staff were really lovely. Breakfast is simple but tasty, with plenty of coffee available. Good wi-fi throughout the Riad. We enjoyed peaceful sunny afternoons on the terrace with beers (bought from the Acima supermarket). The rooms are cool and dark - great for summer sleep-ins, but not so good for getting up early! The owner was extremely helpful with even our strangest questions. Excellent location out of the madness of the centre, but still only a short walk away. Highly recommended.
We were there in the winter and our room was a little cool, but there were plenty of blankets.
staff is really nice!
I was looking for somewhere very inexpensive as I didn't plan to be there a lot. It fit the bill perfectly. The people were helpful and so Incoudltn complain. It's quite basic but you have to expect that when considering tv cost. In this case you get what what you pay for and there are no nasty surprises.
Just the bed, which sloped left-to-right.
Very nice people, owner can help you to arrange whatever you want to do (accomodation, activities, ...). Clean and comfortable place. Good breakfast.
Location difficult to find on your own. Help needed by local "guides" (for a small some sum is advisory). Yet this is the case for most of the Riads in Marrakech.
stuff very nice and helpful, it's very quiet place in morocan style, but You have to be careful when You go there first time, it's in the middle of medina and there's a lot of guys wanted to guide You, for price of course ;)
