Yassine, the manager, was very kind! The room was huge!
Yousef & the Riad Jomana is fantastic! The hospitality of Yousef was second to none and is extremely helpful with everything you ask of him. The location is good, 10min walk to the Souks and Square. The staff here keep the place spotless and always greet you with a smile. We enjoyed our time here!
Pleasing room, beautiful terrace, freindly staff.
Excellent place to stay, Yussef the manager will make you feel at home. Much recommended
We were made most welcome and nothing was too much trouble for the staff, particularly Yussef. Spacious room and lovely roof terrace. Outstanding Riad!
Would have liked a greater variety at breakfast and the shower under the stairs was pokey.
The riad is beautiful, situated in a very good location, within 15 minutes walk of the northern souks, and the main Jamaa El Fna square. Breakfast was typical Moroccan, with lovely warm breads and pastries. The room/suite was large, and towels were replaced daily. The central riad courtyard was beautiful, and the roof terrace amazing, with views over the neighbouring rooftops. We could sunbathe daily on the roof terrace. The highlight was our manager Yussef, who took great care of us, and walked us to the main roads towards the main square on our day of arrival to orientate us. He is a great asset to the riad, and our stay here in Marrakech would be different without him. Overall, we would rate this riad as excellent, we would recommend to friends, and we would stay here again.
Nothing - we couldn't fault it.
Lovely place with roof terrace to relax from the bustling life on the streets. Exeptionally helpful and friendly staff.
Very kind staff
Shower not really comfortable
This was my third trip to Morocco in 18 months. My 82 year old mother and my 30 year old daughter came with me this time - each of us absolutely loved Riad Jomana. Our room was on the ground floor which suited my mother perfectly as there are a few flights of stairs to climb to the top. We looked at all the rooms when they were empty (four others) and If I come again with my hubby I would definitely book the larger one again - it was significantly larger than the double rooms, and worth the extra cost. It was Very comfortable, with a huge bed (maybe six foot) and a single. It was spotlessly clean and In a quiet area, though the morning prayer woke us early each morning. The atmosphere was very relaxed, we had two Youseff's looking after us, and both were incredibly helpful and friendly, we also had a lot of laughs with them, including a sing song one morning. The ladies who cleaned the Riad were sweet, and worked very hard but in a gentle paced way. The typical courtyard in the centre of the house was simply designed, it didn't have the "wow" of some other Riad's. But it did feel authentic. The Riad is located in a lovely locality, feeling nicely away from the touristy areas, and in the heart of where locals lived and shopped. If you get a taxi ask for "Bab Doukalla Mosque" and not just "Bab Doukalla" the Riad is a couple of minutes from there. I'm really not sure about the reviews that say it is a ten minute walk to Jemma al Fnna, I never found that route! and in the heat It would surely take a lot longer. I would completely recommend this Riad, great value for money and I felt the staff to be trustworthy and interested in us as people - good value for money. Other than the breakfast (see additional note) I simply could not find anything to fault. Thank you Riad Jomana.
The typical type of breakfast for Morocco on this occasion was made up of the usual bread/pancakes with plenty of butter and jam. vanilla yoghurt, freshly squeezed orange, spiced coffee (delicious) or tea. I have had cheeses, eggs and fruit in other Riad's. Really it felt more of a "filler" not very nutrititious - If they did serve eggs or something else it would make a really big difference to the start of each day.
The location and rooms were brilliant and all very clean. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, and went above and beyond the service you would expect, especially Youseff who makes a delicious Spanish salad. Breakfast was very nice and the view from the roof terrace was great. They also organize excursions if you want them for a very reasonable price. Overall it was fantastic value for money.
Nothing at all, it was great.
The location is really great. It is easy to walk everything from there. The staff was fabulous and very helpful. At night it's calm, no traffic noise because it's in the Medina. Good value for money!
Great Budget Riad, Staff fantastic! The manager was so helpful and friendly.
The evening meal wasn't that great. Lovely starter, Main course, dry, over cooked and cold. Dessert, not as requested.
Best staff ever. Youseff, the manager, is great! He was really nice and helpful. The room was really great, very large and beautiful. Breakfast was also very good. We have never been that satisfied with a hotel before!
It is 10 minutes away from the main square, but still worthy. Use the pick up service from the airport, it is impossible to find it by yourself the first time (just like every hotel in Marrakesh, the streets are a maze)
Youseff has been really friendly and informative. Always smiling cleaning ladies, very comfortable environment.
Location was good. Roof terrace lovely
Room was lovely (we had 3 bed suite) but it opened up on to the main patio where guests have breakfast so it wasn't very private as you can hear everything.
Very friendly welcomed, nice location and beautiful riad. Reasonable priced.
The best riad .yossof is the best gay.the place save clean and i feel like home.
Very nice and clean place to stay. The manager, Yussef, is very useful and reliable source of information and is able to organize various day trips outside Marrakesh. You can't go wrong with staying in riad Jomana.
As it is with most riads in medina, also riad Jomana is difficult to find, especially when it is your first day in Marrakech. The easiest way how to avoid getting lost is to let riad to organize airport pick up (if you are not on tight budget). Otherwise, find the Route Sidi Abdelaziz and in the middle of this street, there is a narrow lane with directions to many riads (except of riad Jomana) follow this narrow lane to the end where there is an entrance to the mosque. turn right and continue until you see sign Riad 72. The brown door with number 62 is the Riad Jomana. If you are reading this Yussef, put up some signs, mate.
The hallway (reception) of the riad is amazing. It is big and has practically no ceiling, at the top in third floor there is a dome-like top, which can be opened to let in sun or stars. The furnishing is in Arab style, very tasteful and attractive. The room was special, and in native style with big bed with canopy, and all knick-knack which gave additional momentum to the style. It was a real morocco experience.
It can be a bit tricky to find the Raid without help, but the host was so friendly to pick us up at the settled location, so that it wasn't a real problem:)
Yussef is a wonderful guy, helpful and kind all the time, making you feel at home. The Riad is well located, and the rooms are huge and nice. I would totally recommend this riad, and maybe we'll come back one day!
Prayer from the close mosque are loud. Although I doubt that in the medina you can find any riad which don't have this problem unfortunately, and after the second night you forget about it :-)
Easy enough to find and still close by to main city and main square. The idea of souk without the throuble of it. Recommend this aspect to others. Good rooms for descent price Relaxed and helpfull staff Nice bonus: The roomview on top is awesome
At the start a bit unclear difference of the rooms no fixed separation between room and bad room area, the curtain that was used was sufficient.
We loved staying at Riad Jomana. Location is central, the riad is spotless. Staff were very friendly, especially Youssef. He made us feel at home, got plenty useful advice from him. We d definitely stay there again! Thanks Youssef!! :)
Great place, great rooms, great view, good vibes and atmosphere!
This was our first stop in a Morocco trip with 5 guys we stayed all in one room quite comfortably. The riad is very well kept and clean. Yussef the manager was very hospitable, friendly and helpful. The location is perfect close enough to the central souk in the old city.
The room was clean and nice, with a high ceiling, and traditional furniture. The staff was very friendly, we were welcomed with tea and cookies. We had to leave early in the morning, and our host was kind to fix us a nice proper breakfast with warm coffee and tea. The location is good. Coming from the big square, after you pass Henna Cafe, take the first alley. Then, take the second (or maybe third) alley to the right. We did the reservation one day before, and for 20 euros (w/o tax) it's a good deal.
The rooms at the ground floor are very high and with no heating. During winter nights the room is a bit too cold, so ask for extra blankets. However, during hot summer nights I guess that's an advantage. Also, the hot water was only warm. Pay attention that it is very close to a mosque, thus the calls for prayer are quite loud. The ones in the middle of the night (two hours before dawn) can easily substitute the alarm clock. Apart from that, it's very quiet.
