Riad Oumaima is a palace-style guesthouse, a 10-minute walk through the souks (markets) to Jeema-El-Fna square. It offers an interior patio with a heated plunge pool and a rooftop sun terrace.
Score from 155 reviews Very good
the room was nice and tidy, the staff was extremely welcoming and could answer all our questions. The riad has a central location in the medina and is beautifully decorated. It instantly felt like home! It was a bit cold in the evening/night, but was compensated by a cosy fire in the common area.
The Riad is really well located (in the middle of the Medina, the typical area of Marrakesh. The staff is friendly, and available all the time. A special thank you go to Isha (not sure about the spelling sorry!), he was amazing with us and a really good dama player. We had dinner there two times and, even though it was really difficult to finish due to the portion's size :) , we had a fantastic time (the terrace is great!) I firmly suggest Riad Kenzo to everybody.
Lovely authentic atmosphere
wonderful staff. Could not do enough for us. Delicious meal prepared on arrival. Very central so we could pop back throughout the day to rest or drop off shopping. Great breakfast
The staff at the riad were amazing, very helpful with airport lost luaggage issues, always available to give help and advice. Great breakfast and spoilt my daughter with hot chocolate. the Riad is perfect location if you want to step out into the souks but a calm oasis inside the Riad with no noise from the madness around. Thanks for giving us a memorable stay and all your help.
We were welcomed with mint tea and cake - nothing was too much trouble. They even arranged for a hat left on a tour bus to be located and returned to us. Birthday cake made for my husband's birthday; tours arranged - this was a truly wonderful service. The Riad is in the middle of the Medina - but so calm and peaceful.
Nice People, at least one in speaking english Breakfast was good. Booked the desert trip, definitely best thing to do. Room was great!
Just let them pick you up somewhere, not really easy to find
Great location in the medina, friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, nice riad with roof terrace with a view of the old medina
Somewhat small (but nice) rooms, noises from other rooms and common areas are easily heard in rooms
The staff were very helpful in all matters and definately contributed to our enjoyable stay in Marrakesh. Riad Kenzo is easy to orietate yourself to within the medina. Rooftop area for meals is pleasant and the meal the first night which we requested as an option was delicious and large!
Better pillows would have contributed to a more comfortable sleep. I would recommend to book a room on the first floor not the ground floor as you will have more privacy and be less disturbed from people coming and going through the night.
First of all I liked the staff they are so helpful and kind I really felt like I'm home , my sincere thanks and appreciation to Demian , mohamed , Mustafa , Nadia , Aziza and Hesham .second of all they have an amazing breakfast with a wonderful view. I'm gonna miss you all.
Exceptional help and friendliness of Damian (the owner) and Mohammed (his right hand man). The room, hamman and massage, food, décor and atmosphere.
Having to leave!!!
Location was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. A beautiful riad with a great rooftop area for breakfast or to kick back at the end of the day.
No negatives I can think of.
The riad is really nice and all the staff is extremely gentle and helpful, especially Musthafa. We really appreciated our welcome the first day, when Damien, the french owner of the riad, offered us an amazing mint tea, giving a free map of the city (if you buy it at the airport they charge you 1 euro) with all the useful informations. He also suggested a characteristic restaurant, Souk Kafè, where we ate typical moroccan food, in a clean and atmospheric terrace. The riad is a peaceful and familiar place where to find rest from the chaotic medina. And the magic atmosphere you breathe in the riad is mainly given by the people who work there, they really want to help you and make your trip as easy as possible. Damien arranged for the day of our departure an early breakfast at 5.30 am (even if the breakfast time in the riad starts at 8 o'clock) and the day before he checked for us the train timetable in order to make our journey to Fez more organized. In the riad we did the hammam and a 45 minutes body massage (50 euros for both the treatments); all in all the treatments were really good and cheaper in comparison with other prices. All was perfect, with the only exception that we went to Marrakesh during the Eid Kebir holiday, a traditional holiday period for Muslims, and the vast majority of tourist attractions were closed. So, if you are thinking about a trip in Marrakesh you should check when that celebration happens before booking, since the dates vary from year to year!
The hammam room was probably too small and there was no hair-dryer in the room. We found Marrakesh more expensive than Fez, and when you walk in the medina a big percentage of moroccans ask you money for informations, so in order to avoid any problems and annoying extra charges (even 10 euros for a street indication!!) it is probably better for you to pay an official tourist guide to do the complete tour of the city, as we did in Fez.
The location, close to the main square and old town. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Very easy to get lost and a struggle to find your way through the streets especially at night.
The Riad was right in the middle of Medina, 10 min walking from Djema el Fnaa. There is a familiar atmosphere in the riad and the landlord gave us all the possible tips. Breakfast was good, the room as well, pretty comfortable. Wifi worked perfectly.
The riad is so close to a mosque that we have been wake up at 5 am from the muazzin.
The staff were wonderfully friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable.
A great place to stay on our first two nights in Morocco. Very welcoming. Great Food. Thank you
The approach to the Riad starts off through the hustling and bustling streets of the Marrakech Old Town. Once you step into the Riad you are in a new world! Nothing beats the staff at this Riad. They were very very helpful, pleasant and personable. If I ever visit Marrakech again I will certainly go back. Mhamed is the all knowing man and Moustapha is the one stop shop. Well done Damien for having this brilliant place with amazing people :)
I enjoyed the beautiful style of the riad, great breakfast in the mornings and Mohammed was especially friendly and helpful. I would recommend staying here to anybody travelling to marrakesh
the wifi was non existant the location is terrible, much better to stay in the modern part of the city (Gueliz), the Medina is very smelly and dirty, you get harrassed constantly to buy stuff or give money. You cannot look at your map or ask for directions without being asked for money to be shown where to go (20 eur!), noone helps you to be kind, it is all about getting money.
Rooftop patio, really helpful staff
Need to get used to smelly streets including walk to riad
We loved the rooms and the pretty Moroccan bathrooms! The beds are super comfy and breakfast on the roof terrace was perfect! All the staff are super friendly and helpful in getting 'chariots' to get the bags to the taxis.
Be careful of the hangers-on who gather around the 'chariots' - ours demanded 50 euro for a 250 metre journey! Just refer them to the French owner of Kenzo - he will sort them out!
Friendly staff and good service Gorgeous interior good breakfast cool, air-conditioned rooms
The staff were amazing. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. We had a trip out to the Sahara and was due to leave at 7, so someone woke up earlier than usual to make us breakfast (which is included in the price!) The location is pretty central, with the main plaza within a 10 minute walk. The place itself would be impossible to find though because you have to turn off the main alley, with no signage (we hired an airport transfer).
The airport transfer was 20 euros when a cab would've been between 5-10 (if we were to bargain). The hammam was 25 euros, where it would have been cheaper elsewhere.
Breakfast waited 45mins-1hr and it was stale and cold. Only 4 out of 10 light bulbs worked, very dark, room as dirty, bin in bathroom overflowing with previous occupants hair and tissues. Sun beds not as in picture, plastic dirty with torn covers.
