friendly and helpfull staff Good service Beautiful rooms in authentic style breakfast is oké Just 5 minutes walking from the big square
It is a bit difficult to find the Riad if you are there for the first time. But there are always people that want to show you the way. Or you can ask an luggage carrier. He brings you there.
Internal descriptions very accurate and the rooms were very clean and snmart
Location per booking.com is not accurate and access is via several seedy back alleys.
The 1001-nights suite was big, beautiful and had heating (unlike most other places where we stayed). Breakfast was extensive and delicious. The room was cleaned every day. The location is very central and close to the main square, just a few streets from a bigger, chaotic moroccan shopping street, but in a more calm and quiet place, which is ideal. The roof terrace is amazing, especially when it's sunny. Most importantly: the staff was really nice and helpfull and took extremely good care of us! They answered all of our questions about Marrakech and some practical things, and they even brought us some pots of traditional best quality amlou (something similar to peanut butter) at a not-touristy price to take home. We really appreciated this!
Very nice riad! I can recommend it to everybody!!! - Perfect location in the city centre(first time maybe a little hard to find, but after the first time you'll remember. It's located in a dark alley, but it's perfectly safe) - Really beautiful, picturesque riad with decorated rooms. - Very friendly and helpful staff. - Really nice, tastful breakfast(tea/coffee, eggs, jam, baking goods(traditional marrocan pancakes+bread+other delicious things). - Beautiful panorama view on the roof terrace.
There are only some small downsides: - Poor lighting in the rooms. - No heathing, so kinda cold in the wintermonths. - The showerdrain has a limited draining capacity( a problem all Medina riads have because of an ancient sewer system!!) - Broken showerhead holder.
The hotel is beautifully decorated and the rooms are very cozy and comfortable. We were welcomed very warmly and out host organised a dessert trip for us, answered all the questions we had about the city and places to visit and catered every one of our needs! Amazing service! Great atmosphere! We were upgraded to the suite for our second night we stayed there, without having to pay extra. I strongly recommend this Riad!
Great location, beautiful terrace. Nice atmosphere, nice staff. Lovely breakfast. Good value for money.
There's no heating, so it can be really cold during winter nights. Toilet is quite damp, too. Bring an additional sweater with you. You will not be provided with the key of the riad and the staff will ask you to come back by midnight.
Quiet central location. Warm welcome. Friendly staff. Clean. Large rooms in the new Riad. 5 mins walk to Jamaa square. Large roof top to take in the sun and the Atlas views. Relaxed breakfast with generous hours.
Lighting bit lacking in that darkish interior but probably standard for Riads. Narrow alley ways but again you get used to it.
Near to the main square but in a quiet area, clean, quiet, good breakfast, the place and the room are beautiful
The fact that it is right in the heart of the Medina and a very old authentic building. Very attractive and quiet.
Rooms a bit dark and my bathroom was not the most spacious - also was a bit smelly.
close to the centre, clean and calm place
cold personal, no help attitude
The staff and owner come across and genuinely friendly. The staff are also very helpful and accommodating. Riad has a peaceful location and very calming interior. Breakfast is pretty good - though if you stay more than a few days it could become repetitive. The tortoises provided a good distraction for the kids Interesting decor in courtyard and common sitting areas. Convenient little shops nearby for buying basics like water and fruit etc. Despite all the negatives I have listed I still like this Riad - but had I paid more I would have been slightly disappointed.
Hard to find. A bit of a distance from the main square. Given that we paid £25 a room I tolerated the following, but if I had paid full price I would have been disappointed with the following: Some of the towels were smelly even when provided with clean ones - a bit off putting to have a nice shower and then dry yourself with a off smelling towel. Lighting a bit dim in bathroom for shaving. Shower head holder broken - yellowed plastic suggest it has been broken for sometime. No hooks for hanging clothes in bathroom or for drying out 2 towels - only one towel rail. Only one toilet roll provided per day - ran out on one occasion. Pillows were shapeless with minimal padding. Asked for additional pillows but told only one per person allowed. Noisy door bolts - sleep got disturbed a few times by other guest arriving late or leaving early.
Staff, Enviroment, Value for money.
I didn't stay long enough
Good location, near to the main square. Lovely staff. Place where you can feel real Morocco.
Lovely Riad, with friendly and helpful staff. The e-mailed a map of how to find the riad from the square, which was so usefull with landmarks to help find the way through the winding streets which all look very similar at first. There are hardly any road name signs so without the landmarks on the map it would've been hard to find, like most Riads I suspect. The tortoises in the courtyard were a nice novelty!
Shower head fixing in the bathroom was broken.
Perfect in every way for a visit to Marrakech.
I could only stay 1 night, had to go to work. 10 times the price but no soul.
We loved this hotel and it was great to stay someone with so much character in the center with two kids. location only 5 minute work to the square friendly staff could not do enough for you and our kids they loved finding where the resident tortoises were hiding and feeding them. amazing building roof terrace was a total sun trap and great views huge family room with curtains to separate the room into two bedrooms.
these are small things and in no way distracted from our great stay at this hotel . bathroom could do with maintenance to make it more usable and tidy for example shower needed a holder above the bath. no lock on our door so we could not let the children sleep in the kids beds as they were next to the door so the kids got the comfy double bed!
Feeding turtles in the courtyard, spacious sahara suite perfect for a family of four
Lack of protein for breakfast, we would grab hard boiled eggs and fruit the night before at Jmaa a fna.
Lovely Riad, very quiet and peaceful
Bit difficult to find, Not willing to provide breakfast before 8.30
10 out 10 in every way notting more to be said.
I love this Riad! The manager is very friendly and helpful. The Riad itself is a treasure, absolutely wonderful and clean. The rooftop is amazing to have a drink or chill a bit. The breakfast was delicious: fresh orange juice, msemen, tea, fresh jam and butter. There is nothing not to love about this Riad. The location is a bit hard to find at the beginning but we got used to it very quickly.
The location is fine, althought dificult to find.
The staff, specially the owner, are not friendly. The breakfast is insufficient and poor.
Location very tricky
The location is very good, walking distance to the main square and other touristic spots. The staff is very friendly, always willing to help you. The breakfast is very good.
The lighting in the bedroom and the bathroom was too low, really poor! It is really demanding that a shower at night. Oh, and still about the shower… The shower drain is clogged or blocked, I don’t know… So it’s impossible to let the water run for more then three minutes, otherwise the whole bathroom is going to get wet (it takes more than 30 minutes to the "stuck water" drains... Listen to the other guests: it is really, really, really difficult to find it. We got lost one night and were aggressively intimidated by locals trying to “help” and then asking for money. It was really annoying and kind of scaring… The road is close (5 to 10 min walk from the main square), it’s not easy to find (and get worst at night...). Bring the map offered by the road or try to drawn your own.
Central location, fantastic host, nice traditional Riad
Everyone says it, but it is very very difficult to find.
Said, the manager, was the most efficient and accommodating manager we encountered on our trip. He arranged tours, helped us with our luggage, called cabs for us and much more. The riad is beautiful and nicely decorated.
The riad is hidden within the labyrinthine streets of the medina. It was difficult to find every time we went out. I suggest signs strategically located from the main square to the door of the riad.
