Score from 131 reviews Excellent
This beautiful Riad had a real sense of history, antiquity and mystery to it which was a great start to our trip in Fez. Breakfast at the rooftop was just lovely. The food for dinner at the restaurant was delicious accompanied by live Moroccan music and singing. The friendliness of the staff will be remembered. Location was great.
The steep and narrow stairs up to the room was quite a challenge if you have a knee problem. They can improve their heating in the room (we were there in winter) as well as the brightness in the room and bathroom. There are no modern conveniences in the room but you can always ask for what you need eg. kettle, hairdryer etc.
Friendly staff. Room décor. Size of the room. Location.
Newly renovated country specific location very close to the Medina - Outstanding. With big terrace free to use. Very helpful, english speaking staff members including the guard (Hicham). Extensive breakfast.
Nothing to complain about.
The food at breakfast was wonderful and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Be aware if you have a room booked on the top floors and have a disability or are pregnant as the stairs can be a little steep...but the team will do all to make you comfortable!
The riad is absolutely beautiful, with amazing tile and woodwork throughout both the public spaces and the rooms, carrying on the feeling that the Fes medina gives you of being transported through time. The staff are all pleasant and helpful and the breakfast - though continental - is great. We woke up late and the kitchen staff even waited for us past the posted times. The restaurant owned by the hotel is also incredible and with gigantic portions (one order is enough for two, so don't let the price be daunting). It too has beautiful decor, a great view of the medina and traditional live Moroccan music. It's also well worth a visit.
The rooms were a touch small and not as private as I would have liked, being a young couple - but that's what you pay for authenticity, so it's quite an acceptable exchange. The staff at the beginning were a bit overprotective and pushy about offering a tour of the medina. Indeed, if you're not an experienced traveler in developing countries, it might be a good idea, because the medina can be a shock on your senses, and the main sites can be hard to find - however, that's what I loved about Fes (and other labrynthine cities), trying to find those sites!
Well renovated building, authentic style
Haphazard service - seemed that other property was more important
We couldn't have found a better place to stay with our family of five children. The renovation of the riad was amazing. The hospitality and friendliness was unbeatable. Such a unique place to stay. We wished we could have stayed longer. Would recommend to anyone!
They upgraded our room without extra cost and got us a free delicious lunch upon arrival. Room is beautiful, patio is gorgeous. Very friendly staff, although sometimes a bit pushy.
We stayed for three nights and breakfast was the same every morning (although delicious and very substantial). The 'official' Medina guide the hotel found for us only showed us a small part of the sites and the tour took half the time we agreed upon.
We've passed 3 night in this riad. The place is amazing, an historic building with a wonderful view from the rooftop, with big and nice rooms. Breakfast was rich and very good. Free wi-fi connection. The staff is kind, attentive and always smiling: In case we'll be back in Fez, for sure we'll choose again la Maison Verte.
The staff were great. Hicham was very friendly and accommodating. We had car trouble and the hotel's driver assisted us in getting our car fixed. The riad was beautiful. The other property was beautiful too and the restaurant was delicious.
Staff extremely helpful and genuinely friendly. Breakfast was filling and very good and different each day
There is nothing to dislike
If you ever wanted to try living in the Medina, this is the place. Not too far in so you get lost, yet you still get a feel for the medina hustle and bustle. The staff were lovely, even escorting us to and from the associated restaurant. The decor was amazing! Breakfast is plentiful and held on the beautiful roof top terrace.
Wifiwas a bit wobbly, though the staff were always available to help out.
Helpful Staff Good price Awesome breakfast Powerful shower
Not really all that close to the action in Fes. Very noisy each morning. Stayed for 4 nights and woken up by demonic screams from outside of the riad on 3 nights! Very bizarre, but my wife returned to our room to find two of the staff in our bathroom utilising my wife's hairbrush. When we returned 4-5 hours later, the hairbrush was clean though (!)
The staff were all brilliant, very courteous.
We booked Verte but on arrival were upgraded to Palais de Fes, the sister hotel, a grand Palace at the entrance to the Medina. With breathtaking views out onto the Medina and genuinely great service from arrival to departure this was one of the finest hotels we stayed in Morocco. A special mention to Ghita the hotel manager who greeted us and gave us loads of good tips on how to get the most from the local area. The room was stunning with lots of intricate details in the finish, the food superb with live local music over dinner and the waitress even joined in singing which was great!
Everything was brilliant! The staff were helpful, polite, warm and kind. They genuinely wanted to make us feel welcome and they absolutely succeeded. This was the best riad we stayed in in Morocco. The rooms were amazingly decorated. We felt like we were in a palace! Complimentary mint tea was available on request on the gorgeous terrace which overlooked the medina. A brilliant place for just relaxing and escaping the hustle and bustle of Fes. The breakfast was out of this world. The waitresses would bring out dish after dish of delicious jams, honey, bread, eggs and cakes. All washed down with gorgeous orange juice and mint tea. I absolutely couldn't fault this place and would recommend it 100%.
I could not fault this place at all.
This place was amazing! Absolutely stunningly beautiful! We were unsure what to expect going in, but it was lovely. They also own another property with a restaurant nearby with great food and great ambience. The staff were so nice, even though none of us really spoke each other's language. French, Spanish and Arabic are helpful. English is not. We were able to communicate enough to get whatever we needed, though, and they were so accomodating. We would go back.
It IS right next to a mosque, so you get the call to prayer at 5am, but if you can live through that, this place is fantastic. The wifi was a little sketchy, but I'm sure that would be an easy fix for them.
- Beautiful traditional Riad. - very Clean
We asked information in relation to eating out and our reply was that it was dangerous, difficult to navigate and of poor food quality by staff and were thoroughly discouraged from going. Despite reassuring staff that we would still like to go, they escorted us everywhere we went. They refused to provide information about the towns cuisine, despite a welcoming part of the medina being very accessible by taxi only a short trip away (we found this out later in our trip). Instead they insisted on us eating in their riad restaurant (with prices quadruple the price of street restaurants). They even offered us a free meal to stop us from heading to the medina. Towards the end of our stay we also noted the same behaviors towards another female travelers, so this doesn't appear to be a one-off. On a whole, the Riad is lovely and appears quite traditional. The location is suboptimal, as is the English of the staff. The restaurant is beautiful, with traditional food and a magnificent view of the city. A luxury you will pay for. Similar views can be sourced from far cheaper restaurants In the medina.
The riad Eden offers a very quiet and cozy atmosphere. The staff is very kind and make you feel at home after a day in the dusty streets of the medina. The Rooms are spacious and, more important, very clean and well decorated
the location is not easy to find and the narrow alleys of the Medina are very dark at night
Staff were AMAZING!! So helpful, friendly, warm, kind and competent. Breakfast was fantastic and the view of the Fes medina from the rooftop restaurant was awesome. The décor of the rooms was absolutely beautiful and authentically Moroccan. Highly recommend to other travelers.
wifi not great
everything about the riad. Morocco is the place if you want to travel back in time. Culture, People, Art, Food and smell everything in one place. If you like anything, hagging is a must. Try to cut the price almost 50% from the offered price.
It's a bit noisy in the middle of the night as the Fez residence like to hang out at the garden nearby late at night. Same like all the city in Morocco, they all eyeing for your cash don't trust anybody even if they seem friendly and help you.
The hotel was one of the most pleasent stay in Morroco. The location was excellent with easy access to the old town and great view from the roof terrace. The room was very clean and comfortable, we reallt liked the great taste of the owner that all little details on the interior were carefully set and with nice Morroco touch. The staff were very friendly and helpful which made our stay even more pleasant. Highly recommended.
Everythink was Excellent, very friendly, helpfull and welcoming staff they take care of our stay in all details and in a very professional way. Rooms were of a realy good standard we enjoyed our stay difinitly we will come back.
It felt like being at home, the staff are so nice, service was brilliant I wish hi could longer, Food was good,I have stayed in a few places in morocco. This has to be the best. Money well spent,I think softie hotel in Marrakech should there staff here to learn a few things.
