The staff were all brilliant, very courteous.
We booked Verte but on arrival were upgraded to Palais de Fes, the sister hotel, a grand Palace at the entrance to the Medina. With breathtaking views out onto the Medina and genuinely great service from arrival to departure this was one of the finest hotels we stayed in Morocco. A special mention to Ghita the hotel manager who greeted us and gave us loads of good tips on how to get the most from the local area. The room was stunning with lots of intricate details in the finish, the food superb with live local music over dinner and the waitress even joined in singing which was great!
Everything was brilliant! The staff were helpful, polite, warm and kind. They genuinely wanted to make us feel welcome and they absolutely succeeded. This was the best riad we stayed in in Morocco. The rooms were amazingly decorated. We felt like we were in a palace! Complimentary mint tea was available on request on the gorgeous terrace which overlooked the medina. A brilliant place for just relaxing and escaping the hustle and bustle of Fes. The breakfast was out of this world. The waitresses would bring out dish after dish of delicious jams, honey, bread, eggs and cakes. All washed down with gorgeous orange juice and mint tea. I absolutely couldn't fault this place and would recommend it 100%.
I could not fault this place at all.
This place was amazing! Absolutely stunningly beautiful! We were unsure what to expect going in, but it was lovely. They also own another property with a restaurant nearby with great food and great ambience. The staff were so nice, even though none of us really spoke each other's language. French, Spanish and Arabic are helpful. English is not. We were able to communicate enough to get whatever we needed, though, and they were so accomodating. We would go back.
It IS right next to a mosque, so you get the call to prayer at 5am, but if you can live through that, this place is fantastic. The wifi was a little sketchy, but I'm sure that would be an easy fix for them.
- Beautiful traditional Riad. - very Clean
We asked information in relation to eating out and our reply was that it was dangerous, difficult to navigate and of poor food quality by staff and were thoroughly discouraged from going. Despite reassuring staff that we would still like to go, they escorted us everywhere we went. They refused to provide information about the towns cuisine, despite a welcoming part of the medina being very accessible by taxi only a short trip away (we found this out later in our trip). Instead they insisted on us eating in their riad restaurant (with prices quadruple the price of street restaurants). They even offered us a free meal to stop us from heading to the medina. Towards the end of our stay we also noted the same behaviors towards another female travelers, so this doesn't appear to be a one-off. On a whole, the Riad is lovely and appears quite traditional. The location is suboptimal, as is the English of the staff. The restaurant is beautiful, with traditional food and a magnificent view of the city. A luxury you will pay for. Similar views can be sourced from far cheaper restaurants In the medina.
The riad Eden offers a very quiet and cozy atmosphere. The staff is very kind and make you feel at home after a day in the dusty streets of the medina. The Rooms are spacious and, more important, very clean and well decorated
the location is not easy to find and the narrow alleys of the Medina are very dark at night
Staff were AMAZING!! So helpful, friendly, warm, kind and competent. Breakfast was fantastic and the view of the Fes medina from the rooftop restaurant was awesome. The décor of the rooms was absolutely beautiful and authentically Moroccan. Highly recommend to other travelers.
wifi not great
everything about the riad. Morocco is the place if you want to travel back in time. Culture, People, Art, Food and smell everything in one place. If you like anything, hagging is a must. Try to cut the price almost 50% from the offered price.
It's a bit noisy in the middle of the night as the Fez residence like to hang out at the garden nearby late at night. Same like all the city in Morocco, they all eyeing for your cash don't trust anybody even if they seem friendly and help you.
The hotel was one of the most pleasent stay in Morroco. The location was excellent with easy access to the old town and great view from the roof terrace. The room was very clean and comfortable, we reallt liked the great taste of the owner that all little details on the interior were carefully set and with nice Morroco touch. The staff were very friendly and helpful which made our stay even more pleasant. Highly recommended.
Everythink was Excellent, very friendly, helpfull and welcoming staff they take care of our stay in all details and in a very professional way. Rooms were of a realy good standard we enjoyed our stay difinitly we will come back.
It felt like being at home, the staff are so nice, service was brilliant I wish hi could longer, Food was good,I have stayed in a few places in morocco. This has to be the best. Money well spent,I think softie hotel in Marrakech should there staff here to learn a few things. Fez people are nice people I can say that with my hand my heart, I most definitely will be going back with the family ;)))))))))))
It was a little cold when I went,ah well! ;)
The riad is very well located at walking distance from the old Medina. The staff was very helpful and breakfast was really good.
There wasn't a hairdryer in the room. It can be a bit loud in the early morning and they advertise on booking.com they have a fitness centre, but there isn't one.
Riad La Maison Verte is a heaven on earth, My wife and I have spent the best holidays since many years, The Riad has a perfect central location, few steps away from the major attractions of the old city (Medina), Excellent service provided by the staff from the driver who picked us up from the airport, Waiters, bellmans, to the guest relation officers who were always fulfilling our requests in a prompt time,Excellent value for money though. Plus, Rita the young passionate owner who is an asset for the property please her hosts in all the ways and make their dreams become true. I must recommend this place to anyone who want to experience an unforgettable"GET AWAY" in Fez and be on the best spot ever. Thank you very much again "La Maison Verte Team". We will be back very soon. J&M
The employes are very very nice and helpful. The building is very beautiful and correspond to the pictures. Excelent service. I would come back.
Two minor details, the TV had no channels and we could feel a strong sewer smell from the toilet.
Fantastic staff, amenities, price in an absolutely beautiful riad. I would recommend this riad one hundred times over! My friend and I speak Arabic and French so I'm not sure if the staff is well versed in English but regardless, I know they would treat every guest with the same level of service that they did us. Our first night we arrived late and one of the staff members walked us to a taxi and waited up for us to come back from dinner at 1am. He said he wanted to make sure we were okay, that we had a nice time and to check if we needed anything. The roof top terrace for breakfast is absolutely fabulous. There is a lovely view of the medina, it is a greenery with flowers and vines over a hand crafted arch. The breakfast staff is wonderful, they will serve you at anytime you request, early or late. Such a wonderful experience! Wifi is accessible everywhere, there is aircon and heat in each room, very clean, and all around a great deal for the price.
The only issue with this riad is the location. For travelers not used to medinas in northern africa it can be very intimidating. However there is a member of staff that will guide you in and out of the medina if you ask, there is always someone available just by a phone call. I think that the service of the staff and the beauty of the riad balances out the location.
We stayed in a suite of rooms on the third floor which were really exquisitely decorated and furnished. The kids loved them too! The rooms were very clean and the staff were at all times attentive and helpful, but not intrusive. Noise can be a problem in a riad, but we were not bothered. The breakfast was excellent and the roof terrace is lovely. The riad is close to the Place Rcif in a quieter part of town slightly off the tourist track. It is easy to find from the bus stop on the Boulevard Ahmed Ben Mohammed Alaoui if you ask there. It does not take long to find your way to the Atterine and beyond.
My ipod didn't like the wifi (my daughter's new kindle did though). The booking.com map showed the riad to the west of Place Rcif, when it is in fact to the south east.
This is a very beautiful Riad that has a nice rooftop terrace with great views over the old city. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ample. They will arrange taxis, and will meet you on arrival to guide you to the Riad. It is in a good location. I would recommend this Riad and its great staff to all travelers to Fes. Michael, Pisa Italy.
To sum up, this place is just amazing and the stuff makes it fabulous. We booked a double room, on arrival they upgraded us a suite for free. The breakfast is the best I had in my life in all hotels or Riads. It is just crazy!!! Too much to eat of the flavors of Morocco. I am Moroccan and I know :). The stuff are very very helpful. I suggest you to have lunch / or dinner with the Riad because it is well prepared, clean and above all it is tasty. I paid 40 EUR for dinner there (2ppl), and my first impression was that it was a bit expensive, but after eating in other places in Fes or even in Marrakech, I really consider 40 EUR I spent as very very cheap considering the variety of food and the taste. I would definitely go back again. Thank you Riad la Maison Verte
Loved the personalized service provided by the hotel. Everytime our tour guide dropped us off at the meeting point, our hotel staff was always there waiting to escort us back to the Riad safe and sound.
- staff did arrange a guide who brought to several commercial stores - staff couldn't give us the right directions
The hotel is really in the heart of the Medina and the design is Amazing.
Everyone at this Riad was wonderful. Many did not speak English but they smiled every day and greeted us with warmth. I was very ill when I arrived and the staff went out of their way, amazingly above and beyond to help me. Rita made haste to bring an exceptional physician to my room who diagnosed and helped me. He spoke no English but was highly educated and very professional. He did not charge me for the visit just for the medication I needed which is very difficult to get IinMMorocco. I found out later he is a well known brain surgeon who went to school in Europe. The food in their resturant was exceptional better than any other meal we had during our entire trip and we were all over the country.
The breakfast was ok but not great. We did an excursion through the Riad to Meknes etc. And it was 1000 dh just for the ride there and back which was 2 hours one way. There was no guide included. That was very overpriced as we thought the driver was also our guide. He was not. We took a taxi from merzouga to Fez for 1000 dh and that is an 8 hour ride. On the other hand we had a guide in Fez they set up for us, his name was Ahmed. He was excellent. We enjoyed him very much.
Very nice place, good value for money. We were with our 1 year old son and they provided a cot as well. Floor did get cold for him though. We were there in November.
We only stayed one night. Would have been nice to have stayed a few more nights.
This is an amazing riad which offers exceptional services. I felt like I was treated exclusively. We got free upgrade to a deluxe room as it was the low season. Staff there are extremely friendly and respectful. Not to mention the best part -- the rooftop terrace, which offers a splendid view of the entire medina of fes. I would strongly recommend people to choose this riad if you wanna feel the true fes. And I will definitely go back again!!
