Everything. The Facilities , The location: a few steps from Medina. The food and specially the people Karen, Ahmed, Mustafa and the ladies that work there make you really feel at home in Marrakech

Staff were so helpful and friendly. Karen even drove us to majorelle gardens to save us the taxi money. They were willing to lend us cash when we didn't have time to go to an ATM. The breakfasts are lovely and there was always plenty to eat. We ate an evening meal at the riad once which was gorgeous but there are cheaper alternatives nearby. The room was always clean and cool - perfect for relaxing. The jacuzzi was refreshing and there are always spare beds to sunbathe. The excursions offered through the riad are reasonably priced and we greatly enjoyed the ourika valley trip, the staff sort out the transport for you. Overall the riad succeeds in maintaining a quiet and peaceful atmosphere which is a perfect escape from the hectic streets of the medina. We would reccomend Riad la Porte Rouge to anyone. It is the perfect place to stay in Marrakech.

We're just returned from a weeks stay at La Porte Rouge and cannot praise Ahmed and his team enough, everyone was so friendly and helpful. On arrival we were warmly welcomed with mint tea and a tour around the riad, Ahmed gave us a map and some great tips for getting around and what to see and do during our stay. We were extremely happy with the riad , its beautifully decorated , very clean ,well maintained and very comfortable , it's peaceful with plenty of space to find a quiet corner to relax in after a busy day exploring. . Breakfast was really good , freshly made and very tasty, the menu looked very good too although we only ate once at the riad in the evening, it was delicious but far too much for just the two of us. We would highly recommend this riad and look forward to returning very soon.

There is nothing to dislike, we were very happy staying here and would recommend it to all.

Lovely Riad. Had an great experience in Marrakech. I highly recommend a stay here.

If I had to give a negative point it would be that if noisey guests are sharing the riad then the rooms are not completely quiet.

A Riad which Akers you feel you just stepped in from 1001 Arabian nights. Staff very accommodating, dinners in house were well prepared and filling and arranged a tour more reasonably than I could on my own. A little hike to the town square but the 15-20 walk was no problem with the map and directions given at the Riad. Arranged airport transfers and even picked up 3 in our groups who arrived at 230 am due to flight delays.

A bit away from town center but a little less hectic than closer to the souk.

Ahmed and his team were amazing.. Nothing was too much trouble and we always felt really relaxed and at ease - the place just has a wonderful atmosphere. The little touches were great too ... A bouquet of fresh roses waiting for us as it was my husband's birthday - really thoughtful! The rooms are beautiful and comfortable and the breakfasts are amazing! Would highly recommend Riad La Porte Rouge!!!!

    Nothing... It's a wonderful place-we loved it!!

An exceptional place to stay. Beautiful decor with plush rich fabrics carefully chosen and attention to detail throughout. Great courtyard area with splash pool and quirky 'Alice in Wonderland' type teapot centre piece, and a good terrace with sun loungers and even a Jacuzzi. Lounge was comfortable and well designed. The owner Karen, was wonderful, so helpful and friendly. She even lent us money for food as we arrived late at night, and organised the taxi transfers for us. The location is adjacent to the Kasbah but near the Bab Hmat gate, which maybe a little far from the main square, but it is walkable in say 25 mins, or a £2 taxi ride. But its brilliant for Kozi Bar, Sadam Tombs, Bahia and Badi Palaces, along the way, and a brilliant main shopping street heads straight to the square. It's very easy to find, set back from a main road but really quiet once inside. You really feel you are in a lap of luxury and the Riad is superb. Our double room was a little small but very appealing with rose petals scattered on very comfortable beds, and fruit in the room. The ensuite was a good size and has a great ceramic sink and shower . I would definitely stay here again. Exceptional value for money and very high standards. Stay here and you will not be disappointed.

Riad was decorated very nicely and felt quite luxurious.

The Riad was very noisy late at night with both guests and staff talking loudly and moving furniture around. The Jacuzzi was not in use for our entire stay and as there was work being done on it, we could not use the sun loungers on the roof after a long day sight seeing.

Very kind and helpful staff, they gave us lots of useful information and made our stay very comfortable. Great place to chill out after a day out in busy Marrakech.

Wifi reception wasn't great from our top floor room.

From the warm welcome onwards our short was wonderful. They even helped us find another riad close by for our return journey as they we're full (be advised the other place is lovely but twice the price) The room was beautiful, the food was excellent and we would definitely choose to stay here again.

The location isn't great as there's nothing much in the immediate vicinity. However, you are not too far away to walk to the centre & so I would stay here again despite that.

The staff was friendly and accommodating and arranged both guides and massages for us. The meals we had there were excellent. It was an easy walk to the square and souks, but also easy accessibility by car so that it wasn't a long walk from taxi to riad.

Beautiful decor, amazing staff and wonderful room. Roof terrace was beautiful and the added bonus of the hot tub - couldn't have asked for more...

It is in the very south of the Medina - not a problem for us and we loved the walk in - but could be an issue for people with less mobility

A great find! Can't remember the name of the room but it was on the roof terrace. Really nice! The luxury of the hot tub was lovely and very private. We didn't see anyone else on the terrace so it felt like an extension of the room. Saeed was a very attentive host making everything perfect for us and our baby. Would definitly recommend!

With a buggy the location wasn't good. It was dicing with death on those roads. Plus navigating to the Jemma El fna wasn't great. It's relatively simple, but not all pedestrianised and about 15 minuites. We got a bit lost on the first day and asking for directions wasn't easy because it's away from the tourist areas. Don't let this put you off! But if you have a baby it's worth considering.

The staff were so welcoming at Riad, and accomodated our every need. The jacuzzi was a nice touch.

Our room wasn't as private as we might have liked as it was off the main courtyard, however it was a lovely lovely room.

Quite the nicest riad we have stayed at in Marrakesk with lovely meals and warm additional heating on cold nights. Lying in the hot tub and watching the sunset on the roof terrace was something I shall not forget in a hurry.

We loved the traditional feel of the Riad and the exquisite design of the furniture and fittings. Staff were very accommodating and had some great suggestions for us to make the most of our limited time. A real oasis (cliche? I hope not) in a bustling city. HIghly recommend it.

The Riad exceeded our expectations. The location is south of the centre of Marrakech and involved a walk there and back which is our preferred way of experiencing a city. Plenty of other forms of transport to and from the main sites but we loved walking through local neighbourhoods. Not for everyone but great for us.

We liked it all. A winter break of superb quality at a time when it was very much needed. Watching the sunset from the heated Jacuzzi was really beautiful. The meals were delightful and except that there is so much to do and see in Marakech there would be almost no need to go out.
