Lovely room and hotel. Outstanding staff hired by the family that owns this hotel. Location away from the touristy and hectic part of the medina.
Charged an extra 3% for using a credit card to pay our bill. Not acceptable. At this price point, being cheap to your guests is hardly hospitable.
Staff are friendly
Can't pay by credit card, I have been ask at first day but last minute they said no, The telephone always ring at late midnight and early morning. My friends suggest me this Riad, but I won't recommend for another Thai friend.
We had a nice 3-night stay with a few complaints. It was a great value with a good breakfast. The whole place is beautiful. Though the room was small, it comfortable and there is a lot of common space. It is located inside the medina on the edge close to an entry. It was easy to get a cab to other areas, but it is not walking distance to many sites or restaurants. Staff was very kind and helpful.
The room was small and the bathroom lacked ventilation so it got musty. We were given a fan for the room, but it was still very hot given the July temperatures in Fez. It is not walking distance to many sites or restaurants. Only some staff spoke English making communication difficult at times.
Rajae and Fatima are both charming and helpful. The decor in the Riad is pleasing and the position for closeness to the Medina taxis and Souks is good. We spent three lovely days in Fez, thanks to them.
The beds are most uncomfortable and need to be changed.
Tranquil Great food Comfy rooms
Not the easiest place to find
very homey home cooked everything staff like your own sisters & mama
decor a bit old housekeeping not thorough the dinner was too much for one person
Not so friendly after all. Shower did not work and had to wash under tap in bath. Was told to leave our room at 11 even though check out is at 12.
Absolutely delicious breakfast!
The staff rude, accommodation disgusting the rooms smelt of sewerage. The owner lied about restaurant opening times to force us to eat in her riad. Breakfast was served with old bread. Terrible experience.
We were glad we booked this Riad as it ticked all the right boxes. Elegantly designed, comfortable, close to train station and a great base for travelling around Fes. Ideally situated just inside the Medina and close to Riat gate where it's easy to flag down a Petit taxi ( blue with yellow) by far the cheapest. The breakfast is fantastic and varies daily. The extra meals we booked were tasty and convenient after a busy day sightseeing or shopping and it's nice to just relax around the Riad and appreciate the ambience.
Although it's possible to pay for accommodation by credit card there is a 4 per cent surcharge, so ensure you have enough Dirhams in cash to avoid extra expense.
The worse experience in Morocco during my 2 weeks holiday. We arrived late evening and had to fend off touts insisting on being our 'security guards near the riad. If it was that my boyfriend was tall & muscular, we could have been in serious trouble. The alley to the riad was totally pitch dark making the riad impossible to find. They apparently missed out of booking! The only nice thing they did was to find another riad nearby to take us in, but chunked us there without telling us anything. But before that happened, we experience the worse of Morocco ever! Having met touts coming in, we were concerned going out to find dinner. They told us that it is not safe to go out & offered us some soup. We thought it was so kind of them, until after we finished our tiny bowl of moroccan soup. They tried selling a guided tour to us, which we refused, then we were told the 2 small bowls of soup are €20!!! We bargained but had no choice and eventually paid. The night stay was €40 but the soup was 1/2 the price! The riad was just all out trying to find opportunities to rip us, totally underserving of the high ratings that made me make the bookings.
