Staff were helpful, went out of their way to find a Riad for us that did a morrocan cooking course that we could visit for a day. We left quite early in the morning and they prepared breakfast early for us!
There was nothing I disliked about our stay!
Ahmed was good and friendly making sure my stay was comfortable and happy. Gave a good map of where to visit. Ready to accommodate request at any time. Went beyond as well. Very commendable guy. Thanks Ahmed.
The breakfast. Not too much of a variety and not given a choice. Did not like the bread. Told them but they still served it even though I asked for more of pancakes instead. Got only 2. Awkward bless them. It was only after the owner came that I knew I could ask for eggs. It's not a hotel anyway I tell myself. Air conditioning was too noisy. Lonely path to the door even though it's well lit. Had a feeling I was not being told the true cost of transport. Was told it's about 40 to 50. Decided to go to the taxi park myself and I got the same for 20. It was too late for me to book airport can but I could have gotten it for much much less. Felt they wanted their cab people to also make some extra money.
Very accommodating hosts, excellent breakfast, good location for the medina, comfortable room - amazing views from the terrace!
Wifi a little slow
Loved the breakfast, the well designed rooms, helpful staff and superb location. Plus the roof terrace is excellent, if a little cold in February.
I can't think of anything, it suited us perfectly for a long winter weekend
Service provided by the staff was fantastic. They will tell you were to go, how much a taxi should cost, make reservations for you or bring you a cuppa tea. The accomodation was clean and quiet and looks extremely nice inside. One can not do without the airport pickup since the Riad is impossible to find for first-time visitors to the Medina. Breakfast was nice enough but there could be some cheese or eggs added besides all the sweets.
It could get a bit chilli in January, it would be a good idea to turn on the terrace-heaters in the courtyard.
The breakfast was great and served on the outside terrace by such a nice staff. Tours arranged by the managers were excellent - local guides and a desert tour both. Rooms were cozy, clean and beautifully decorated.
It is a bit more expensive than other riads possibly.
We felt like at home and Bashir was very helpful all the time (it's not easy in a group of 6!). Location inside medina is fine but do check if you have any kind of mobility problem as cars, bikes, dunkeys and stairs are everywhere! Perfect for people that want to do lots of shopping.
Although decoration was nice and very Martian style I think at least the bathroom should have more light. Difficult for women to do make up for example. While we stayed there was some problems with hot water, not sure if something ongoing or just one off.
The staff were amazing and went out of there way to help , the food was fresh every morning, room was clean, fresh Budd linen every day all in all if you want to be not very far from the sokes and the main market square then you can't get better, for the price
the room was on the small side ,and there was no tv if the weather was to bad to go out , or you just wanted to rest for a day .
Charming ambience. Bedrooms comfortable and sizeable. Clean bathrooms. Location within the medina but an easy walking distance to the taxi stands. Staff warm and hospitable.
smoking was allowed in central courtyard and the smoke spread to adjoining bedrooms. Americans don't like facilities where smoking is allowed. Stairs to upstairs rooms were steep and tall. If elderly or not in good shape, don't stay in upstairs room
This place was such a welcome after the shock of arriving in Marrakech. I was so overwhelmed with the area - when I walked into this riad it was such a welcomed surprise. So clean and quiet compared to the craziness outside. The location is odd but then again I found Marrakech to be very weird. This is in the medina just around the corner from all the markets. This place made my time in Marrakech so enjoyable. Having a clean, quiet and comfortable place to stay made all the difference. The breakfast in the morning was nice. There is bread, fresh fruit, jams, tea, coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, yogurt, cake and these pancake-like things that were so good. The staff was very friendly and honest. I left 1 dirham on my bed when getting ready for the day when I came back it was placed back on my bed after they had made it. I suggest asking for a driver to pick you up from the airport and drop you off after. This was a €13 charge for each way which was well worth it. Marrakech is a shocking place but this riad really made me feel more comfortable. They also have free wifi!!!
At night there was no warm water but there was plenty in the morning.
Tranquility, beautiful decor, relaxing roof terrace, excellent staff - helpful, knowledgeable and charming. Comfortable and luxurious rooms.
I can't find a single fault with Le Coq Berbere
First off, great location in the heart of the Medina, yet easy enough to find your way in and out of. Once you find your way, only about 10-12 minutes by foot to Djemaa el-Fna. Like many other riads, it's a quiet escape from the bustle of the medina. Second, the staff was incredibly helpful, with the manager Bashir offering to help our friends purchase their bus tickets and them preparing a pot of coffee for our early (6am) departure. Lastly, it was a great value as a lovely, cozy, quaint riad, with a relaxing rooftop terrace. There's certainly fancier riads out there, but le coq Berbere was more than comfortable for us for two nights.
While they say breakfast is available between 8 and 10, we experienced a bit of a wait (say 30-45 minutes) before the cook arrived to prepare a simple buffet of Moroccan pancakes, jam, coffee, yogurt, fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice, and cake.
- perfection location in the heart of the medina - super friendly staff - lovely rooftop and lots of cosy sitting areas - great breakfast
the map that they draw for u at the arrival means that u are in a genuine country
I can recommend the riad to everyone whos seeks some time off from the noisy and crowded streets of the Medina - it really is an oasis of peace within the Medina. The staff is awesome, always helpful and smiling, especially Bashir is one of the finest people I have ever met. 5 stars for the riad and its staff!!!
Nice looking Riad. Lots of seating area. Friendly female staff.
It was noisy, you can hear everything from outside on the streets. The air-conditioning needs cleaning as there was a strange smell when we turned it on. The rudeness from a particular member of staff. When asked by the owner where I would like to sit for breakfast I chose to sit downstairs and this was fine. When the guy came to serve my breakfast and asked where I would like to sit I said here is good. (I was even told by him it was ok to sit anywhere the night before!) He then said something about upstairs, I said the owner said it was ok to sit here. The guy then just stormed off, came back with my breakfast with an angry face. I felt like I had to apologies for causing him trouble. I think his behaviour is disgusting, one of the worst service I've had. This was a shame because the Riad was nice. I chose to stay here because of the high ratings. But the poor service ruined it.
Riad perfect in terms of decoration and amenities, but supreme by the staff who work there and the willingness to help at all times. Very good option if you want to enjoy the madness of the Medina. Thank you very much for all!
Lovely Riad with a beautiful roof terrace and helpful local staff.
The door to our room didn't lock properly, which made us uncomfortable.
Very very loud - Italian lady runs the place, and there was constant commotion (many Italians coming in and out throughout the day, talking loudly, etc). Hard to sleep as a result.
roof terrace was beautiful. Our room was clean. Personnel were relatively friendly
the decoration of our room.
Centrally located and close to all the main sights, shopping, restaurants. Once inside the riad was an oasis of quiet and calm - very welcome after a long day haggling in the souks! The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Very clean and tasteful decor, with a quirky touch that gave it real character and charm.
We had the best stay in Marrakech thanks to this wonderful Riad, the staff was so helpful and nice, we felt like at home. Nothing went wrong. Its incredible how it has such a good quality/price, the design of the riad is so beautiful. Relaxing and functional, very close to a luxury hotel. We surely recomend this place, to all ages couples.
Very nice place with friendly atmosphere. Great base for exploration of the Medina. Everything was just perfect!
I can't find anything
Great location in the medina and nice and easy to get to the square and the souks etc. Helpful staff who gave us tips on Marrakech and were generally very friendly!
