In Marrakech’s Medina (historic center), a 3-minute walk from Jamaâ El Fna Square, this Riad is housed in a restored house with traditional architecture.
Score from 477 reviews Excellent
Staff very helpful and very good location. Had an amazing stay.
Loved the renovated building in itself, decor and landscaping. Pleasant, pleasing staff. Great rooftop dining experience. Wonderful overall experience.
Breakfast was only breads, griddle cakes, jams, and fruit juice; all grain and sugar carbs, no protein at all. From earlier postings, I thought we'd be offered more nutritious yogurt as well. I was looking forward to swimming until I noticed the pool bottom was algae filled.
I wanted to stay in a traditional Moroccan riad that was clean and peaceful. Not an ideal walk to jamaa fna square, but away from all the noise, hustle and bustle of Marrakesh's entertainment square. A beautiful place to stay with friendly staff and delicious breakfast.
Really friendly staff, great peaceful location, comfortable rooms, great roof toop terrace
The room was spacious and perfectly clean. The breakfast was correct and the staff nice and helpful.
Terrible location if you want to go to the square walking, you will probably get lost.
Food, ambience, friendliness of the staff, massage, breakfast on the roof terrace, helpfulness of the staff, scent within the Riad was beautiful .... I am a very fussy guest at hotels - this place is a gem!
Riad Le Jardin d'Abdou exceeded our expectations and we'd recommend to anyone wanting to experience Marrakesh. The short walk to the Souks and main square allows you to experience more than just the tourist areas. 5 star hospitality from the hotel staff, great food and very relaxing atmosphere.
No real negatives apart from weak wifi signal. But leave your ipads at home and enjoy some time off.
The location was fantastic, the food in their restaurant was lovely, staff were friendly.
A little noisy at night time from noise on the street
The riad is a beautiful and very clean hotel and the staff was very kind.
The breakfast is very disappointing. No fruits at all, no protein apart from milk. They serve only bread, jelly and milk/tea. Every day, was pretty much the same. The prices are appointed in euros, but when checking out, we had to pay with dirhams (which was not a problem). Although, is the manager who stablishes the value of the currency for the day, which was higher than other places... With their currency, the value of the riad increased and we were charged much more than we expected. It's a quite tricky thing that we didn't appreciate at all.
Great Staff! Spoke: English, Spanish, French, Arabic and many dialects thereof. The hotel was immaculately clean and well-kept! Never imagined such a great hotel for such a low-price. Never been happier with a last-minute hotel! Breakfast AND dinner was included in the price which always help to defer cost. Will definitely return and will stay for longer next time!
The hotel was located outside of the established "interior" of the city. Although we walked to the hotel from the city centre we soon came to prefer the 5-minute cab ride. However, despite the location being a little further away from the city centre the price and overall experience of the hotel far outweigh this one factor.
The staff are wonderfully helpful, efficient and attentive. The hotel itself is beautiful with a wonderful pool in the courtyard to enjoy. It is also on the edge of the Medina, with easy access to all the main attractions but also accessible by car so no need to worry about finding your way home at night! The decor is delicate and clean with great furnishings and all the necessary amenities.
The only thing I could fault would be the breakfast which was limited to yoghurt and various types of pancakes and bread. Would have loved some eggs or even some fruit to start the day off with a healthier breakfast.
I liked everything about this lovely riad - the peace and quiet away from the hustle & bustle, sweet and helpful staff and the wonderful room. The riad is not located in the centre of the Medina, but that suited us well and it's not far to walk. I will try to stay here again when I go back!
No wi-fi in the room, but the common areas are lovely to sit in so really doesn't matter.
A beautiful, traditional riad, which is everything you think it will be and a little bit more. The central courtyard is so pretty and the overall experience is enhanced by the warm and welcoming staff. We dined on the evening we stayed and the food was a perfect end to a perfect day.
It is not the easiest place to find!
it's very clean, NO noise whatsoever, and friendly staff.
the hotel offered us a pick-up from the airport (20 euro) which we gladly accepted. However, they had forgotten to arrange it and no taxi driver showed up. We didn't really mind though, since there were plenty of taxi's available at the airport of course - and cheaper than the hotel had offered us.
Beautiful Riad. Comfortable bed and nice room and ensuite. Very clean. Helpful and friendly staff.
The Riad was extremely clean! It was very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and are always available to assist with anything. I would definitely reccomend it.
There is nowhere around the riad to eat. We had to take a taxi or walk very far if we wanted food that was not from the riad. The Riad sells food but it is really expensive compared to the price of food in Marrakech. The breakfast was good but there was no fruits or meat. It was only breaded items with juice, tea, and coffee.
Le Jardin d'Abdou is a stunning riad with a magnificent courtyard and roof-top terrace. The staff is friendly and helpful.
The hotel is situated in a forgotten corner of the medina and getting to the major attractions by foot is a bit of a hike. The area felt safe but on our walk back from the souks, a local did tell us we were going the wrong way. When we corrected him he seemed surprised. The hotel is accessible by taxi, however, and is close to a gate (Bab Ayled) which makes navigating to it relatively simple even if you don't speak Arabic or French.
the staff were excellent
Breakfast could have had some more variety
Beatiful facilities with a friendly staff ideal for couples, explorers, as well as chilled vacations
Breakfast was delicious but limited and the neighbourhood around the riad was not very tourist friendly
Location, staff attituted
Generally, breakfast in any hotel/Riad in country is a bit belowEuropean expectations for given price
With respect to comfort, housekeeping, service and atmosphere, this was the best hotel I've ever been. If you wish to experience arabian flair and hospitality, you have to stay in the Riad Le Jardin d'Abdou. Its amazing what is hidden behind the inconspicious entrance door.
Peace and tranquility a short walk away from the bustle of the central square. Beautiful guesthouse. Fantastic staff. Comfortable and welcoming. Food was also gorgeous.
The staff is very friendly and helpfull. The location is good and safe. We didnt encouter any problems the three nights we stayed there. Breakfast is very good.
The staff doubled the price of massage when we paid the bill and had a very bad attitude. They did not fell responsible for the Riad which is really not good.
We really liked the character of the building. It is a quiet and cool place in the middle of a busy and hectic old town. The staff was very helpful, caring and polite.
We booked an excursion through reception, for an evening meal and spectacle. The evening was very poor even though they had told us that it was very good and they didn't explain how we had to pay and that the driver was going to stay with us all night and rush us around and made a detour on the way there to pick up his friend and took 45 min to get there instead of 15 min. I would not trust their recommendations on trips.
