Riad Rocco is located in the cent-re of Fes, within 5 minutes’ walk of the Medersa Bou Inania and the Dar Batha Museum. The riad offers free Wi-Fi, a patio and a terrace with a view of the city.
Score from 110 reviews Wonderful
Set in the heart of the medina (historic quarter), this typical Moroccan-style Riad is decorated with mosaics and wooden furniture.
Score from 139 reviews Good
- very nice interior with orange trees and traditional rooms - terrace as nice place to hang out - good price / value ratio - sweet BF included
- a bit tough to find (easiest is to ask a local for few MAD) - as in Medina you need to leave your car somewhere else
The staff was very friendly. The dinner was great. Over all it's a good cheap place to stay for budgeted travelers in Fes.
Wifi was poor. The position of the toilet was a bit awkward because there's not enough space for the legs. The room was pretty small. In the medina when you go out at night it's a bit dangerous...the foreigners need to be careful.
helpfull and friendly staff/owner very beautiful and old building (typical moroccan) food was okay but expensive
hard en small bed sometimes bad smell in shower
Location is excellent, bang on in the middle of the old medina, but quiet and not noisy. As soon as you walk through the Bab Bojloud (the main gate), there are actually signs directing you to the Riad. When you pass through Bab Boujloud into the old medina, turn into Rue Talaa Saghira, which is the major street on your right that has lots of food stalls and cafes. Keep following this winding street past the Bou Inania Medersa and about 5 minutes later you will see a sign overhead for Riad Les Chrifis pointing to a narrow side street. The Riad is on the right at the end of this street. Staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. Bedroom were great in size and cleanliness. Well decorated and designed Riad. Room had an AC. Breakfast was also great, sufficient and more than enough.
Bathroom, sitting on the toilet was a bit arkward, was a bit small in my room.
We really liked the inner garden and the terrace. The staff was really friendly and we felt that we were really welcome in the riad.
Maybe the curtains were a bit see-through.
The shared space is so wonderful! And Jaman, the key staff member, was incredibly welcoming and helpful. The rooms were very spacious and good decor however the beds are a little uncomfortable but all in all the rooms were great value for money.
The doors are provided with standard Mortis locks and I believe some of the keys for rooms are alike as we had another guest mistake their room for ours and came into our room mid sleep! The owner should consider installing some dead bolt locks on door as security of individual rooms is very low but we still felt safe and belonging secure as all guests and staff were friendly.
After the busy streets of the Medina, arriving to the Riad was an oasis. Beautiful, very confortable, with friendly staff.
We had a wonderful experience at Riad Les Chrifis. I read some people had a hard time finding the place. It was very easy for us. Right after you pass the blue gate, keep walking straight and veer right (otherwise you will step inside a store) and keep walking straight. You'll pass a lot of stores. Walk about 100m, you'll pass a gate with a fountain on your right and you can start looking up to search for the Riad signs. It was very easy for us. And staying in the Medina made the trip very special. The place is very well taken care. Bedrooms were basic and clean. AC worked just fine, but not super cool. Breakfast was very nice, sweet, more on the French side, with bread, pancakes, jams, coffee and milk. Everything delicious, but they only provide breakfast from 8:30am, which can be late if you are traveling the next day. The staff was excellent. One of the ladies even took me to a local hamman and the ladies over there took care of me. Wonderful experience.
Wi-fi didn't work very well. Not so bad, you are on vacation after all.
The staff were extremely friendly and even showed us around the medina when we got lost. Don't eat dinner anywhere else as the cook at the riad makes the most fantastic food!!! Would stay here any time!!!!
Beautifull riad, good location
Beds were to hard, unconfortable and the worst breakfast up till now, only Some Bread and marmelade. We asked for Some eggs and offered to pay for them, but it was not possible.
Quiet and nice riad, with a great location. The staff is very nice even when I misunderstood him and doubted his intention when we arrived in the first time.
As a change of plan, we needed to cancel the second night but this is not possible and we cannot have some discount. So we have to pay the full price even not staying there.
Good value for money; nothing too exquisite, but considering the low price, fair conditions. Great location, on one of the main lanes of the Fes madina, easily reachable through Bab Boujloud. The owner, an amiable and well educated mid-aged gentleman, speaking perfect French, Fusha and good English, was very hospitable and friendly.
the room had a damp smell, result of the eternal problems of the drainage system in any madina in Morocco, and lack of proper ventilation of ryads. the water pressure fluctuates, but nothing too serious.
The Riad was beautiful and the staff and owner were delightful
The Riad was in the perfect location, just on the main street of medina. very safe and lovely, the rooms are very traditional moroccan, have a lovely terrace and the breakfast was very nice.
It is a little bit tricky to find but not impossible, straight walk from Bab Boujloud until you see the Les Chrifi sign pointing to the street where it is located. The staff was super friendly and helpful, the welcome tea was the best. The Riad is very beautiful, rooms are simple but very comfortable for 4 people, 2 single beds and a king bed. Only one bar of soap is provided so you need to walk with other toiletteries. Great A/C and fluffy blankets. TV room for everyone. The view from the top floor is very nice. Breakfast was delicious (sweet as is custom in Morocco).
The shower drain wasn't propperly located so we ended up in a pool of soapy water making the shower floor slippery and disgusting. I hope they fix this, otherwise it is a wonderful place to stay!
The first impression of this riad says it all. The patio is magnificient! I could hardly take my eyes off of it! The terrace also has nice views over the rooftops, the mountains and the Merinid tombs. The owner is usually around, is very friendly and is always aiming to please. His staff is also kind and helpful.
Tip - You do not need to pay for a street guide to take you there! When you pass through Bab Boujloud into the old medina, turn into Rue Talaa Sghira, which is the major street on your right that has lots of food stalls and cafes. Keep following this winding street past the Bou Inania Medersa and about 5 minutes later you will see a sign overhead for Riad Les Chrifis pointing to a narrow side street. The Riad is on the right at the end of this street.
Good location, pretty easy to find in the Medina in Fes. Very nice courtyeard
The room was kind of grotty didn't look like it had been mopped recently. A small amount of wildlife in the room and somewhere in the bed. The shower didn't drain very well and the bathroom was quite cramped. The wifi only worked at all right by the door. There was no-one about when I left on the first morning, and when I got back around lunch the guy who worked there Tijanni was waiting with a total stranger who gave out to me for leaving without breakfast. The total stranger spent ten minutes trying to convince me that I needed a guide to bring me around the medina, and also to buy a carpet and ship it home by DHL. Would not take no for an answer, but at least didn't follow me up to my room. I'd be inclined to give this place a miss.
The Riad looks like a palace. Very good location in the Medina.
The location was really good. The place is hard to find, but when you are there is it easy to get arround.
No specific thing.
Location was perfect, in the heart of the medina, between the two main streets, but in a really quiet and silent alley. The central hall is astonishing, superbly decorated and with a small garden. The owner is a really nice person, even came to meet us in the medina entrance and guide us to the riad.
The shower's temperature was impossible to regulate properly, either burning hot, or freezing cold. Not possible to pay with card. Our mattress was deformed, with a couple of bumps.
This is a beautiful riad located in a very centre of Fes medina. We loved the beautiful interiors, lovely inner patio with citrus trees and comfy rooms. We were looked after very well by friendly staff. They helped us with everything we needed and cooked delicious dinners for us each evening. I would recommend this riad to families with children - it's a family-friendly and very safe place.
The only (and very small) thing - we did not like the juice we were getting for breakfast, which was a mixture of orange, carrot juice, sugar and water.
This riad was excellent value for money. In a good location based in the Medina about a 5 minute walk from the wall gates. The owner Alaoui was very helpful and accommodating and sociable. The centre of the Riad is beautiful decor. The rooms basic and only criticism that it took a long while for shower water to disperse. Else, would have no hesitation to recommend this riad as a short stay im Fez.
Great location, good breakfast, beautiful riad/courtyard and terrace, very friendly staff, overall a very good stay!
Difficult to find (that's any medina really), shower didn't drain
The hotel building was quite beautiful and the roof top sitting area was great to use. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were always helpful.
The bathroom was very damp smelling and it was hard to get a hot shower. Wifi was intermittent.
The riad is very historic and beautiful with a nice garden and a big terrace. The staff was very kind and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay very much!!
The bed was very hard. We are not the type of couple that usually comments about the comfort of beds, but this bed was notable hard.
