From the minute I booked on booking.com my experience was above board with this Riad. Contacted by email from the proprietor to organize a taxi to specifically bring me to the location. After arriving at the location it was no more than 350 m from the center Medina. The staff was overly helpful including Bruno the owner who was filled with advise on places to eat and see during my visit. My Trip to Marrakech would've been very different if I didn't go to this Riad ; I advise everybody to check this place out.
The riad looks beautiful, having the nice breakfast on these beautiful couches by the pool was great, staff was helpful, location is conveniently close to the main square (about a 10 min walk) but far enough to not be in the middle of the craziness, and easy to access for your taxi driver.
There was a bit of an unpleasant smell on the bathroom, but we have noticed that in many places in morocco so it might be sewerage problem beyond their control. All in all, the bathroom looks really nice, and it's excellent value for money for sure!
Authentic feel. Quiet place.
The pool was very useful when battling the forty four degree heat. Very clean, cleaned every day by a lovely, helpful woman. Staff very helpful, booked us taxis to and from airport (from is included). We were allowed to use pool, shower etc after we checked out in the morning. Very good location, away from the noise of the city. Breakfast was good every day with daily variations in the fruit, bread and jam.
Only thing to moan about was the very hard mattresses.
The location was central but very quiet and the staff always nice as well as the owner who made sure we enjoyed the vacation.
My husband and I loved our stay at the Riad Les Cigognes. They set up a taxi to pick us up at the airport and bring us directly to the Riad. The Riad was kept very clean and the staff was attentive. The room was large and quite beautiful. We were located close enough to everything to be within walking distance, but not so close that the noise would bother us. Breakfast every morning was wonderful, especially the fresh orange juice. I have recommended this riad to all of our friends and if we are ever able to return to Marrakesh, we will definitely be staying here again.
A bit difficult to find at first. The taxi cannot take you all the way to the Riad and you must find your way down the alley, and through a couple of turns, on your own. Locals are ready and willing to show you the way, although they do expect a small payment. We were happy to pay them for their assistance.
It was in the medina close to the hustle and bustle. Close to some palaces and saadian tombs. Relaxed and friendly, the breakfast was simple and nice.
The staff only speak french or arabic. The towels or bed sheets were not changed in the week we stayed. The area of the riad seems a little dangerous at night
The room was frozen. The heater didn't work. These things were relevant because this night rained "cats and dogs" and otside was around 5-10 degrees. The room wasn't cool as the average
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this hotel. It represents good value for money. The Riad is located about 10 minutes walk from the central Place Jemaa and the souks . It is a quiet hotel in a back street. It is tastefully furnished and the room was clean, the bed comfortable and the toilet and shower were on good working order. The owner, Bruno, appeared at breakfast time and was helpful. The Riad is in a traditional style around a central court yard and has a roof terrace where one can enjoy the sunshine in December! And enjoy the sight of storks building their nest and preparing for Spring. Incidentally the courtyard has some beautiful flowering plants and many different finches, sparrows and tits.....
The only very minor problem with the room was the absence of a second bedside light, making it difficult for both of us to read in bed!
The storks on the roof! The breakfast on the terrace (although it was a bit too sweet for our taste). Nice staff.
Hard to find the place. Very cold in our room (the room in the back). Wifi only worked around the pool area. The pool was ice cold (probably good in the summer though).
Fabulous spacious room great breakfast Quiet Lovely outdoors
Loved it all
Don't expect variety for Breakfast. It is very basic. There are bread, tea, and jams.
