Meha, the lady who welcomed my Son and I on our first night was wonderful and welcoming an we arrived c.7pm local time. We then left the hotel for dinner and not to return until c.11.30pm, Meha was equally as pleasant at this hour and helpful. A scecond lady who looked after us and advised me before venturing back into the busy souks of Marrakech was equally as pleasant - if not, more so and all the staff made both myself, Husband and 7 year old feel very comfortable. Fresh coffee was really good and the overall fantastic service made for a really good stay. I would definitely return here.
I stayed on two separate nights, I would have preferred if possible, to have been given the same hotel room on the last night I stayed as the room I was given before I departed Marrakech was a lot smaller. Breakfast could improve with perhaps an egg. Otherwise, no complaints at all.
the staff is very helpful
Having stayed in a few riads in Marrakech, I can say this one really stood out. Hannah and her staff were excellent with a good command if English. The staff were attentive throughout our stay in this quiet, spacious and well presented riad. Despite other reviews, I have to say that the route to the riad was safe, it was easy to find and the local residents were friendly. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here and congratulate Hannah and her team for doing such a great job.
We received a lovely welcome with snacks and mint tea. The riad is gorgeous and our room as beautiful. Huge bed and spotlessly clean the room wasn't massive but that was fine with us. We had a lovely breakfast on the terrace of tea, coffee some breads and fresh orange juice. Wifi was super. Location was good 5 min walk from the square.
Our hosts English wasn't great but not a huge problem for our stay. We need to improve our french....
The staff were extremely helpful, the riad was spotless clean. A quiet sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the busy square that is only minutes away.
The riad is tucked away down some alleyways so the first time walking down is a little daunting (especially at night) but once you get your bearings its a simple walk from the square.
The Riad was beautifully decorated and it was a real pleasure to stay there for 6 nights. It felt like a little oasis of calm in the extremely busy city. Hannah was a wonderful host and was very helpful with any questions we had. A really great place to stay, for a very reasonable price!
There was a rather sorry looking sun lounger by the pool which could do with updating but apart from that - no real complaints!
Anna and the other girls working in the riad were always available, giving us useful informations and making us feel like being in a family. We really enjoyed our stay in the Riad and would definitly come back. We warmly recommend it, not only for the wonderful hospitality of the staff, but also for the perfect position, only a few minutes from the main square and the tranquillity of the rooms. On our departure day, they prepared our breakfast at 6 o'clock, even if normally breakfast was from 7 o'clock. We really appreciated that. Wonderful staff, very sweet, gentle and helpful! We can only be thankful for their smiles and encourage you to choose this riad, it is special :-).
Helpful and friendly staff. Riad looks like a small palace. The room was comfortable and nice. The location couldn't be better:)
had to pay cash as the credit card machine wasn't working. Bit of a communication problem between staff. We were not expected and our 'confirmed booking ' was not known. However the staff remedied the situation and we eventually got a good room.Despite this would definitely stay again. Happy brit
I liked everything. The staff was fantastic, very sweet girls and they gave us a lot of useful information for the area.Dont hesitate to ask them for everything!!
Sometimes there was a bad smell from the bathroom but i think it is normal everywhere in Medina as the buildings are old.
service, location, food and enviroment
very hard to find with little signage to the riad.
The location was fantastic, right next to the square. We ended up getting a gigantic room for the 2 of us that could have slept a family of 10!
The furniture and decorations are quite outdated, which is to be expected.
Staff is not professional. Room was not prepared and cleaned by 19h when we arrived. The location is difficult to find and neighbours are very agressive and menace us when we refused to pay money for showing the direction to Riad. There is no bill for us when we ask to pay cash and it is quite risky because we booked with credit card
Hanna and her assistants are simply wonderful. So attentive and sweet, my friends and I truly enjoyed our time staying at Riad Lila. Breakfast was delicious, my sister and I particularly enjoyed the Moroccan pancakes and home-made butter (to our dismay we polished these off every morning!) Several times, we also had excellent room service and Hanna even kindly made phone calls for us when we were arranging to meet our Moroccan friends. The cleanliness is perfection, not a speck of dust and the room is serviced every day. We were given an iron for the duration of our stay, an ipod and blackberry charger which was so lovely and unexpected! We felt very welcome and very well looked after and it was great to be met with smiles and giggles by all who work in the Riad.
Riad Lili was extremely clean, well situated for all the main attractions and the staff very friendly. Having breakfast on the roof top terrace was a brilliant way to start the day, the WIFI allowed us to look up and research places of interest. The atmosphere at the Riad was extremely relaxed and very welcoming.
Having seen previous comments about the Debit/Credit card machine not working we were aware of this situation. However we were expecting that the machine would be fixed and functioning. In fact when leaving and walking past said machine it appeared to be working and functioning. Despite this, we were not permitted to even try making a payment with the machine and had to withdraw further money (including incurring international withdraw costs) from an ATM and pay in cash! This was extremely annoying , that said this is the only complaint we had.
Beautiful atmosphere, a little oasis from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech, well located and close to all museums and souks, the Riad itself was perfect, a good sized bedroom and ensuite, always cleaned to perfection everyday, starting the day with breakfast on the rooftop terrace was magic. But it was also a great discovery to find out their dinners were great too. The traditional open courtyard design was just beautiful too. The staff very warm and lovely and always helpful, they made it a home away from home, and a stay we wont forget. We will stay with them the next time again.
The girls who work at the riad are amazing, taking care of all details and doing their best to make us feel at home. The room is extremely comfotable and the building is beautiful, an oasis in the middle of the busy Medina. The riad is located close to the main square (Djema el Fna), in a very safe area. I'm in love with both the riad and with Morocco, an amazing country with beautiful and loving people! Hope to be back soon!
