Everything at all. This is not the first time we've been in this riad. Last year we've been there for a week and the experience was so possitive that we've repeated. The best: the owners, they're very kind and they are always trying to make you feel at home (and they get it!). The girls who work in the riad are very helpful too and the breakfasts in the terrace with Essaouira in your eye are unforgettable. We'll come back next year, Inshallah!!

Location is great. In old medina, near bus station and port. Hard to find without a map or help. Staff speak only french, except the owner. Wi-Fi is poor, and not in the room, but this is everywhere in Moroc riads, because of the stone walls. Room little cold and wet, because of the climate. Medina is nice and colourful.

Little cold water in the evening, shower/bath smells when open, little noice from the street.

Amazing view from the terrace, the riad is fairly easy to find. The owner is welcoming. Breakfast served in the terrace was good.

No-one spoke English, which is not a must but could have made our stay in the riad easier. The room has no ventilation and therefore it was rather damp after a whole day with the door closed. The bathroom in the room is not closed up (the top of the wall is open), so there is a lack of privacy that people might want to take into consideration when booking here.

Good location in the centre of the Medina but not the easiest to find, so use a porter. Great breakfasts, which varied each day, served on the roof terrace with a view over the rooftops, and on to the sea. Frendly staff.

Great location, lovely staff, amazing breakfast... and a beautiful rooftop terrace.

Language barrier, but that was more our fault than theirs... looking for a language school!

The best breakfast that we had during our 9 days stay in Morocco. We went to essaouria and book this Riad for only 2 nights and in we ended up staying 4 nights. We had the Egypcian room very clean big and cozy again the breakfast was awesome served in the terrace with views to the ocean. Great place and hopefully we will be back again.

I stayed there for 11 nights and I didn't regret a single one. The staff is charming, the breakfast does always have a twist for something different each day and the place is cleaned up so thoroughly everyday... . Its in a great position in the medina and I felt completely good - I'd return anytime

It certainly helps a lot if you have some command of French (or Arabic...).

The view from the terasse is amazing. So the is the buildings atrium.

A rather large smell of gas fills the building at certain times.

The Riad is lovely and the staff very kind and helpful. The roof terrace, where the delicious breakfast is served, is one of the highest in Essaouira and the view is amazing! I totally reccommend the riad!

The room was dark, dank and smelt mouldy, the shower sprayed water directly onto the floor flooding the bathroom, I was attacked by a mob of bees on the terrace at breakfast, but my main complaint is that when I returned to the hotel before check out time to pack my things to leave I found several staff members in my room and all my belongings gone. They had entered my locked room, and also a locked cupboard in my room, and removed belongings such as my passport, money, laptop, clothing and personal items and had packed it in my suitcase which was downstairs. I was furious and have never been treated in such a way in any other hotel anywhere. No apology was given.

Clean, good location, wonderful breakfast. Went in Oct. so no info. re AC

Compared with the 2 other ryads we stayed in, this one was just fair. The rooms are on 4 stories and a 5th to get to the roof breakfast area. Owner smokes inside, not particularly helpful with information and there is no one there who speaks English. Only French. Toilet seat off its hinges WiFy not working, although repairman came next day..

We loved everything about Riad Lyon-Mogador. The hotel is beautifully decorated in traditional Moroccan style, every room has a different theme. The best time of the day was when we had breakfast on the rooftop with a breathtaking view on the city and the Atlantic ocean. Staff is incredibly nice and helpful and we really felt at home. Can't wait to visit Essaouira and our favourite riad again!

Friendly and welcoming owners, excellent breakfast on highest roof top terrace in the area, excellent location off a main shopping street but close to the sea and city wall. Lovely interior decor. We upgraded the room as the standard double was a very small room at the top which felt damp.

Sheets on bed felt slight damp but this is common by the sea. NB.No a/c but it wasn't needed.

The best stay so far in Morocco. Very friendly and helpful staff. We got a very warm welcome when we arrived and were treated with the best moroccan hospitality along with the very informal info session. the rooms and bathrooms were very clean. The breakfast in the morning was the finest I've ever had in any hotel anywhere in the world so far as it had a very personal touch. You have to experience it to know it. The excellent rooftop terrace combined with the sound of the sea at night added to the experience. I would definately come back again and for future travellers, please choose this without any hesitation.
