Staff on reception were friendly and helpful. Restaurant staff, not so much. Room was clean and comfortable. However, if you want something slightly different or authentic then stay elsewhere. This riad is more of a hotel than a riad. It has more of a business feel than a funky or shabby chic riad. The location was great, smack bang in the middle of things and a stones throw to the main square. However, this can mean the streets are packed..all the time.
I was disappointed with the deluxe room. It wasn't the room advertised on the website. It was dark, very dark, so dark I couldn't get ready in the evenings. The restaurant where breakfast was was cold and lifeless. The roof terrace was a bit plain and had old bits of furniture broken and strewn about. It would help if they spruced it up and offered a small menu of tea and snacks up there.
The Riad is very beautiful and is well-located in the Medina. All the staff were very polite and very helpful. They swiftly attended to all our requests and made our stay really special.
Some rooms could be noisy due to their proximity to the square.
Very central, very clean, lovely architecture The receptionist that greeted us was exceptionally charming and helpful
Restaurant was *** freezing *** on New Years Eve and meal overpriced really
Very cold in the restaurant, staff in the restaurant were rude...poor attitude
We stayed at Mabrouk for 4 nights late December. Everything was perfect, receptionists Mouna and Henna are lovely and gave us a very warm welcome and were delightful throughout our stay. We could not have wished for a nicer bedroom suite, just what I wished for. Mabrouk is very close to the square and walking distance to most of the 'must see' places within the Medina. Can't wait to return... And the weather was perfect too, but very chilly at night. We wouldn't hesitate to choose Mabrouk again. :-)
Three things stood out. The first was the Riad's location. It was a short walk away from the central square, but far enough not to be affected by the noise coming from it. The roof terrace offered a wonderful view and a place to escape from the crowds and noise. The second was the ambiance. The interior decor is tastefully done, making this one of the most memorable hotels where I have stayed. The last is the staff's attentive attitude. The place is impeccably clean and the staff at the reception are very attentive to the needs of the guests. My wife and I really appreciated their going out of their way to make sure that we had a comfortable and memorable stay.
Please note that the riad does not have a fitness center, and there really aren't places nearby where you can exercise outside.
The reception staff and the Manager were very helpful. We had a leak in the room, due to torrential rain, but were upgraded and treated very fairly. Also, the rooms have a lovely Moroccan ambience.
The bar/restaurant staff were miserable. They were not very friendly and were not very helpful, unlike the hotel staff. Also the restaurant would not accept cards, only cash, so we ate at another hotel, who would accept cards.
I didn't like it is a very noisy area, I didn't like the fake spa, I didn't like it was not clean.
location, no need for transport
staff like to bill unnecessarily, also breakfast was poor
Location, helpfulness and friendliness of staff, decor, cleanliness.
Noisy, dirty, bad service, rude reception. Cucarachas in the toilet and room.
Hotel is in great location, 2 min walk from main square. Room was clean and comfortable. Good value for money and would stay again.
No fan or window in the bathroom meant it had a slight musty smell
The location was excellent just minutes walk from Djemma el Fna. The roof terrace offered a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle but you still felt you were in the middle of everything. The rooms were beautifully decorated though a bit dark, we asked for extra lighting and pointed out a blocked shower drain the staff attended to it immediately, not much improvement on the lighting but they did attend to the matter as best and pleasantly as they could. As we had a late evening flight it was worth organising a car from the Riad to pick us up at the airport as it would have been difficult to locate. The hotel staff were helpful but the restaurant staff were not so enthusiastic. They seemed to have just run out of about everything you tried to order.
The poor lighting in the room.
This is the best location for any Riad in Marrakech - very close to Jemaa el Fna. It's beautifully decorated and a little oasis in the centre of a crazy busy city. The reception and kitchen staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed for 4 nights and my wife received a free manicure which she said was okay but the spa staff could not care less that they had a client. The Riad is a 20min walk to the new city which we really enjoyed as the roads leading to it are wonderfully laid out with plants, benches and beautiful street lights.
Some slight random noises from the hotel and street noise, but as long as you're not a light sleeper, you'll be fine.
On arrival I was greated by a very smiley receptionist - Hassan - who took me through to the restaurant for complimentary mint tea and pastries. This was followed by a tour of the hotel and an explanation of all the excursions and how to book. When we got to my room it was lovely - looked just like the pictures so there were no surprises. Everything was explained from adjusting the ac to accessing the wifi. My room was street side so a little noisy but this didn't bother me or affect me getting to sleep. I had chosen this hotel specifically for its proximity to Djemaa El Fna so knew it wasn't going to be quiet or secluded. The facilities were good - the gym was accessible (even at 6.30). Not much equipment but enough for a short stay - treadmill, cross trainer and some weights. The restaurant/bar was good - there was a wide range of tasty food to chose from. The reception staff were excellent - always smiley and helpful. The concierge was also extremely helpful, always going above and beyond.
I booked myself in for a hammam and massage at reception and was happy with the price and the fact I was told they could slot me in immediately. However, when I arrived, the ladies in the spa were on their lunch break so I was left waiting for them to finish while listening to them eating loudly and belching! I first had the hammam which was good but not the best I've had - a bit rushed and I felt like I had cut into this ladies lunch or something. After, I had the massage. I had upgraded to a full body, hour long massage. I later regretted this as although the massage itself was good, the room was freezing and I asked for the temperature to be adjusted. The massuese kept yawning - post lunch fatigue?! And overall I didn't feel relaxed or at ease and couldn't wait for the session to be over. The overall experience was poor and I would not recommend using this hotels onsite spa. The staff in the spa were not representative of the rest of the staff who were head and shoulders above in terms of customer service delivery.
Reception staff, breakfast, location, hamman and spa, drinks, wifi loved my stay there
Great traditional decor. Excellent breakfast Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Right in the heart of the medina.
I liked everything---thanks.
The rooms are nice but some bugs, loud noises all around but you are in the heart of Marrakech. A couple of excellent hosts who went out of their way to help us.
Cockroaches in rooms. Pool for decoration, not allowed to swim in. Very loud noises outside which some may find hard to sleep through. Broken shower, broken air con with no solution. The massages left a couple of my friends in pain... One rude host arguing with my friend saying that she hadn't paid for her massages when she had that morning.
lovely and friendly staff. Especially Hannan the receptionist. The location is incredible, just 2 mins from the main square.
Air conditioning broken in the fitness room, so it gets unbearably hot in there.
The location was great .Really close to Jmaa el efna Squre as advertised.
This was a birthday surprise for my husband, and the hotel had been informed of this. On arrival we were told that the restaurant was closed due to internal building work, and the central part of the hotel was full of scaffolding and construction workers. The central pool and restaurant were not in use. We were advised to eat out. Such a disappointment. They should have been courteous enough to email me, so I could have the option of re-arranging my Husband's birthday surprise. But no. Also the mini-bar in the room is stocked with water and cola, but if you use these you're charged a hugely extortionate amount for them. Very, very disappointed and dissatisfied with the overall experience.
perfect location. Good staff. very clean. amazing building.
sometimes quite noisy.
Great location right in the old Medina. Loved the ambience and friendly helpful staff. You felt like you were in Morocco.
Perfect located at the centre of the medina. Two minutes walk to Djemnaa el Fna and the souks. Bit noisy (as expected near the main square). Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast.
The swimming pool is not really for swimming, it's more of a decoration pool.
