It's a great little Riad that is located well within the Medina, almost within the Souk. It's tucked away and completely protected from all the noise and bustle of the souk. We had the suite which was nice and had a great bathroom. The place is clean with a nice style and some intricate little details in the form of artworks and it's design.
The place is incredibly difficult to find. The location on Booking.com is almost correct however the actual street is not on that map or google maps. It is in a little dead end alley and you will almost definitely need to get as close as you can then ask a local where it is. There are a few kids that play at the entrance to the alley and always tell you it's closed. We initially thought this was to make you pay to enter but soon realised they are actually just being nice letting you know it's a dead end street!
The riad has a lot of character. It is a beautiful, old space. Lovely colors and decoratipns and easy walking access to the heart of the Medina. The manager is very sweet and helpful. She will be happy to spend time and talk with you if you take the time.
It is unmarked and very hard to find. Took us at least one hour.
being right in the middle of the souk is fabulous. the house is traditional and lovely, a little basic but that is what we wanted, local, real. Lekberi the landlady is fabulous, friendly very helpful and chatty. She arranged an excursion for us, took us to some souks to find the place and to negotiate a better price, then arranged a taxi back to the airport. Very central, excellent value. home has free wifi too though Skype and video only works on the roof which was pitch dark at night, though I am sure she will have sorted this soon. breakfast is adequate in size..fresh hot bread, butter , local jam, but wicked fresh squeezed orange juice and mint tea...shower hot...perfect really...you will save lots of money
Very hard to find it as in a maze of alleys near the museum of Marrakesh, and if you turn up by taxi you will have problems and be vulnerable to the scam guides who will tell you they just want to help and then when there demand lots of cash....so good advice is to phone leki from the airport and she will get a taxi sorted to pick you up and either she or a friend will pick you up from the edge of the madina which cars cant enter, and they will do this for about 200 dirrhms (20 euros) for 2 persons, otherwise you will pay 200 for the normal taxis and then take your luck in the maze of the souks area where the rhiad is not signed..hint it is near café mazouz, also the babouche souk, and calligraphers house - wifi is variable in the house, best on roof.... if you like piece and quiet the home is perfect, but the area around it can take some getting used to for aday or so because you are constantly invited to buy stuff and often may get lost
If you like to enter in a cave that is not indicated in any map (so impossible to reach without a local guide) and doesn't have the name of the "hotel" (so you are not sure you are in the right place), this is the place for you. Enjoy
We stayed 3 nights. The riad is 5 minutes from the big square which is great. The airco in the room is a bless.
You need to walk several times to the riad to learn the way back.
No signs in front or on top of door. No guidance from staff on how to find the riad from the maze of the medina.
