The room too cold
Transfer at the arrival, welcome at the Riad, location ( close to everything), dinner next to the fire place and help and tips about what to do and how to do it.
Could be more options for breakfast.
When we arrived, the owner, Philippe, took the time to show us a map of the city so we could find our way, site and restaurant locations, etc. VERY PERSONAL experience with the staff. Lovely Riad with a great breakfast and several different locations to sit and relax.
The staff go the extra mile on everything. It's an oasis in the medina
Very nice people who give a lot of advises. This riad is also built in the local architecture, which is very nice. We recommand you to take the proposed taxi from the riad.
We have just returned home from a fantastic vacation in Marrakech. This Riad and it's staff we give our biggest compliments. The Riad and the rooms are very nice and gives a true Moroccan feeling of home. Lovely rooftop terrace and the best location right in the medina. Lovely and helpfull staff. Best regards to Philippe for creating this small paradise.
Excellent Clean Riad. Beautifully decorated and close to the centre of Maraketch.
A little hard to find but all the little alley ways it is not easy to find places anyway.
Wonderful rooftop terrace. Private breakfast with al the time we wished. The best possible welcome: cooled rooms, cold water bottles to refresh ourselves and a delayed breakfast for the next morning as we arrived late in the evening. Great recommendations for the visit from them. Fantastic, yet unobtrusive service.
Difficult to find: We would have loved to have, ahead of time, the fantastic map that they provided us once there (as we made our own way by car).
What we liked the best was the hospitality of Phillipe the owner.
noises from other rooms
The atmosphere was very special and relaxed, we will definitely come back
Great location, easy 3min walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa square. We stayed in the Red room which was beautiful, but the courtyard and communal space are great as well. Would recommend.
Situated in a very good location, close to the big square. Staff is very helpfull and informative. Nice breakfast, which varies each day. Everything was great.
Excellent location Very helpful staff Decor
clean room, nice staff and good location.
wifi is only in public area. I hope we can use in all area.
Great position, in the centre of medina. Good staff and breakfast. They were very helpful to explain how to move in the medina and what are the best places to visit.
They unwillingly accept payment with credit card!
Riad was beautiful and incredibly relaxed ambience, a home away from home. All the staff were particularly lovely.
Lovely riad which has been done up in a casual contemporary style reflecting the french owner. The Riad is in an excellent location in a nice part of the Medina. Philippe is very helpful giving out map with recommendations for good food etc which is appreciated. Also very lovely breakfast with homemade yoghurt & particularly good coffee & in good supply- very welcome indeed! Also noticed the cleaners did an exceptionally good job of cleaning everything on a daily basis.
Unfortunately Riads carry noise, so if you choose a room near the central courtyard where breakfast is served, beware that you may be woken up too early by noise from other guests - not the Riads fault, but who wants to wake to noisy screeching kid at 8am when on vacation.... not relaxing!
The staff were very helpful in recommending great places to eat and shop..what more could you want?? Fantastic location.. In the hub of everything..but lovely and quiet for a nights sleep! Loved it all! Judy and Philip
The service at Riad Magellan was excellent and very professional. Our Mezzanine room was so comfortable and well heated when a bit cold at night. We had dinner there one evening, and it was one of the best meals we had in Morocco, very fresh, home made and of excellent restaurant standard. Philippe, the owner offered to send me the recipes too. On the last day we had a lovely time Sun bathing on their beautiful and peaceful terrace. It was so relaxing that at the last minute I thought to ask Phillipe about arranging a massage somewhere. He promptly got on the phone and within an hour a professional masseuse arrived and my husband and I each had half an hour in a private outdoor massage and treatments room. It was excellent value at around €30 seeing as she came to us at short notice. Thank you everyone at riad Magellan for making our stay in Marrakech unforgettable.
The location of the Riad is perfect, near to all shops, restaurant etc. But it is still very quiet. Philippe is always helpful and we can highly recommend the trip to the Atlas organized by Philippe.
Philippe not only knows how to run a magnificent and beautifully-styled Riad, he knows how to hire great people. The staff here made my stay brilliant - from delicious homemade meals to friendly banter and heartfelt good byes when we left after our five-night stay. The location was great and help/advice was in abundance. Highly recommended.
WiFi not accessible from all rooms.
We stayed in the beige room which was nice and private ( on the first floor with the bedroom and washroom on a second level). We weren't sure what to expect from this room since there are very few pics online, even on the riads website. But we were pleasantly surprised! The staff asked us often if they could help us with anything... But having family and friends living in Marrakech, we didn't need much help. The breakfasts were great and were different every day (which we liked because most raids offer the same thing each am). The towels were great after a shower... Nice and big, which is perfect for the winter. See my suggestions to help with a better stay in the winter!
The location was a bit of a problem for us since we got hassled every day by a local kid. The riad did what they could to keep us safe and help us, so this was not their fault. To further improve our stay, I think it would be great to have a portable heater in the room and/ or an extra blanket at the end of the bed. Some nights were very cold and we couldn't get the air to warm up. A curtain in the side window on the lower level would help with privacy as this is where our clothes are kept and where it was most convenient to change. A hook or two in the upstairs bedroom would be ideal for hanging a few items, like our bed clothes. And a rug or mat on the landing between the bathroom to the bedroom would help to prevent any slipping... Sometimes this got a little slippery after a shower. All in all, it was a great stay though! Thanks to all the staff.
The beautiful Riad, lots of rose petals, very clean and authentic while modern. Perfect for relaxing after some hectic time in the Medina.
The Riad is beautiful while not soundproof at all! You can hear every single noise from your neighbors bedrooms so not very good for privacy...
Riad Magellan has a great central location and is really lovely. The staff are all very helpful and friendly and go out of their way to make your stay in Marrakech a memorable one. We stayed in the Red room which is gorgeous and has a massive bath!
