Riad Kenzo is located in the heart of Marrakech’s medina, just a few minutes’ walk from the famous Djemaa-el-Fna Square. It has a rooftop terrace, plunge pool and Hammam.
Score from 358 reviews Wonderful
The Riad was very clean, staff very friendly and overall excellent value for money. Breakfast was basic but more than adequate.
Its was quite cold, but to be expected in the winter. The room did have an air conditioning unit that heated, but it struggled to warm the room. The bed was very hard. Wifi was flaky and struggled to get a good signal in the rooms, it was fine downstairs however. Location is a bit out of the way from the main square, probably a 20 minute walk through the Souks.
Staff Breakfast Locality Tradition of riad
Bed not that comfy Toilet cistern faulty Shower not great Wifi poor
- location - close to el Fna but a bit on the side of medina - good breakfasts - open 24h - WiFi available in the room - host helps to setup excursions - free tea all the time :)
- dark room - high humidity in the room - bottled orange juice for breakfast (while fresh is almost for free) - expensive taxi comparing to what you can negotiate on the street
The price and friendliness of the staff
The shower in our first room didn't work very well, but they happily moved us to a room where the shower did work
Staff was unhelpful and tried to sell us services whenever we asked questions. Infact, they overcharged us on departure by using a false conversion rate. The room was tiny, horribley dark and dirty as well as freezing cold at night time. The bed was terribley uncomfortable with rough bed sheets. They never cleaned the room - the bins filled up and the toilet paper ran out. Breakfast left much to be desired. We thought this was pretty standard for the price range, however, we moved on to 2 subsequent riads which were similar in price which were clean, beautiful and friendly.
Once you find it (it was our first time in Marrakesh and the orentation in Medina is nothing like european cities), you appreciate the location. It is walking distance to Jemma-el-Fna and to teh bus statin. The neighorhood is not as touristy and relatively calm. The riad itself is quite clean, offers nice lobby in traditional morrocan style. Great value for money!
Small bathroom, dark room, room window only leading to the hall.
Location was good, wifi.
uncomfortable beds, shower, problems with water, too simple breakfast, very dark... no normal lights in the room
Staff very friendly
Wifi very poor Location too far say from main areas Beds so hard that couldn't get a hood nights sleep Poorly run (had to change rooms 3 times in 7 nights as they had made mistakes with bookings, as a couple we do not expect to stay in a room with 2 single beds or even single bunk beds!)
At times Marrakech can be a bit chaotic and you can feel a little out of you're depth. Thats why having a nice place to stay with friendly honest people is Paramount! We stayed for 7 nights in Riad Mahjouba, Housin the owner is a lovely character and really makes you welcome. When we arrived we were held up at immigration for 2 hours. Housin was organised as our airport transfer, he waited for the 2 hours and never complained!! Where would you get that? The riad is like a palace, its spotless yet homely, and the rooms have aircon and wifi. All the staff are really nice here and they really help to make your time special and stress free, we would have been lost without the comfort and safety of this riad, I highly recommend it!!!!! We travelled from dublin.
A traditional riad with beautiful decoration. The staff was super helpful and friendly. Breakfast was served whenever we woke up and were given a lift to the sights and airport for a very good price.
The location is excellent The staf was helpful. The owner treated us like family. I Recommend. When back to Marrakech I will choose Riad Mahjouba
Kind staff, the man prepared us breakfast at 6 am, because we had to leave earlier! Otherwise safe place.
If you want just to overnight (in little less luxury place), you can find a room just beside the market for even half a price of this.. The taxi ordered from riad is much more expensive..
Great location. Friendly staff. Wonderful comfortable communal spaces with traditional moroccan sofas.
Beds were a bit wobbly. Choose a room with a window opening to the outside. Those facing into the courtyard are hot.
This small hotel is a real oasis of tranquility inside the medina.. However, it is only possible to get there on foot. A nice terrace is available on the roof. The staff is friendly and helpful.
- very small rooms; - WiFi works ephemerally; - credit cards not accepted (wrong informations while booking); - poor breakfasts; - noisy patio by night or early morning.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Staff: Available, flexible (we got there at 9 am and they were more than happy to prepare the rooms for us, without early check-in charges). Facilities: As soon as you come in, you feel submerged in the Moroccan culture. Cleanliness: No complaints. Value for money: overall we were satisfied with what we paid for. WiFi: worked well in our room.
Comfort: The bed wasn't awesome, we would wake up very often at night just because of the noise it made. Location: Too far from the main places you would want to visit, going to the Riad for half an hour in the middle of the day to use the bathroom (or whatever) was not an option. Breakfast: Bellow average.
Clean and good situated riad.
Terrible stuff, breakfast is terrible too. very small rooms, some without windows. I'm Do not promote for nothing to stay in this riad. Jeigu galite nuomokites kur nors kitur nes cia sukciai ir apgavikai.
The Riad was very comfortable and the staff very helpful. We had the privilege to experience moroccan life and its people.
The location is not safe if you need to walk back to the riad at night, specially if you are a woman.
glad we arranged pick up with riad, otherwise we would have been lost in the dark. dinner was ok, breakfast was very good with slightly different things each morning. there is no fixed time for breakfast which was a plus. staff are very helpful and kind. rooms are clean every day, even folded up all our clothes laying around :) . very good value.
the place is a bit dark. but you can request meals in the terrace in the sun.
- promised breakfast as we left early, not prepared. - didn't get the booked room, instead another other one not so good due to 'overbooking',
Friendly staff- they would love to make each guest happy but almost impossible if there are no facilities to do so. They had the greatest intentions. Great location. Decor would be great if it were kept well with a clean and tidy and dust and just general upkeep.
No hot water in the mornings. Terrace needs a tidy and clean especially if you're having breakfast there in the mornings. Poor lighting in rooms unless you like being in soft focus all the time. We had to request an extra lamp in our rooms just so we can get ready for evenings out. Roof was not open which made the riad very cold day and night, when not was very warm outside.
Calm and quiet friendly
No TV in rooms wifi connections not very strong no entertainment
Had a fantastic time at this Riad. The staff were lovely, and funny characters. Extremely helpful with whatever we needed, and the breakfast was served whatever time, wherever we wanted it! Rooms were clean, shower was hot. Little bit of a walk to the centre, which we actually enjoyed instead of being in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Would absolutely recommend.
My girlfriend and I were staying at Riad Mahjouba and we were truly touched by the hospitality of the staff. After touring Morocco for the better part of the week, we concluded that we ate the best and tastiest food in Morocco at Riad Mahjouba. I have no complaints about this place, our stay was simply amazing and I can heartily recommend this to anyone looking for accommodation, good care and great food in Marrakech!
The riad is good decorated and clean. Very friendly and helpful staff.
