This is a small riad and some of the furniture such as chairs and dining room tables are somewhat of the miniature size for large Northern Europeans. The breakfast was adequate and good quality but a bit more limited than we expected.
The location is right in the heart of the Medina, surrounded by all the exotic action. The staff are brilliant. The on-site massage enjoyed by my wife, divided over two days was first rate and a real bargain. The cooking at dinner was brilliant, the menu imaginative and reasonably priced for what you received.
Riad Monceau is an oasis of luxury just off the craziness of the main Jemaa el-Fnaa square in the Medina
The host was lovely, made us feel really welcome. Room, breakfast, dinner was great. We also got a hammam the day we arrived - which was super relaxing.
Beautiful, traditional Marrakech riad, tucked away in the depths of the Medina. Extremely friendly and competent staff and brilliant food from their award-winning kitchens.
What was not to like.
The hotels location was a bit of a surprise, we arrived about 8.30 at night and our pre-booked car dropped us at the edge of the main square, where we were greeted by a man with what I can only describe has a box on wheels, our suitcases were put into it and off we set across the square which was interesting and total mayhem to see the least. ( The sq closes to traffic at 6pm.) We followed him very closely has he wormed his way through, it was only a 5min walk to the hotel, which was off the main sq down one of the 1000 little alleyways, we would never have found it on our own. When we got there the hotel was beautiful and the girl on reception was exceptional, wonderful hotel, breakfast great, very quiet Hotel considering its location. Well worth a stay.
A wonderful location, moments from the centre of town, and yet an oasis of quietly stated luxury and taste, with delightful staff, and an excellent restaurant. Everything we had hoped for.
The location is in the midst of the old center. Therefore when travelling by car it is hard to get there. However, the staff was helping us with our luggage. But when giving a tip as gesture, it was not enough and we got an ugly face. Unexpected.
it is a beautiful place, very clean and good food!
Nothing to dislike!
Wonderful staff - so kind and helpful - my daughter and I were very warmly welcomed and nothing was too much trouble. Great facilities - very luxurious and comfortable. Lovely restaurant too!
These Riad's are all very very difficult to find on your own. YOU NEED A TELEPHONE!!!!!!! Beds are very hard in this country and the showers only a trickle? Dinner was expensive for what you get- but very good service.
Right in the middle of the heart of the city and the markets- literally. The staff was very kind and sent a nice man to find us and walk us to the Riad- once there it was very nice, clean, quiet and very much what I would expect from an old building. Dinner was rather expensive, but food very good.
- very loud rooms (you can hear everything what is going on - other guests, cleaning,…) - very small rooms - a standard double bed room has no space for two people (between bed and wall very small space, only one chair, no table,…) - breakfast is not good - prize is much too high
The wifi did not work in my room so when I needed to use it I had to go to one of the public areas of the hotel. This wasn't often but it was a little inconvenient. Dinner did not begin serving till 8pm in the evening which is a little late if you wanted to eat there, and the food was good so waiting till then was a little annoying.
The food was delicious and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel can organise any trips or help with finding places to see and organise guides at very short notice. The atmosphere in the hotel is very calm and tranquil, perfect for a relaxing holiday and a lovely break from the crazy streets outside.
Everything was AMAZING!
Breakfast needs a revamp Lacking imagination and variety. Birds eating exposed buffet food. Unprepared and not notified of dark arrival via back alleyways, dragging luggage. Potential H and S hazards. Pool uninviting.
Location Friendly Staff Comfortable and unique accommodation Beautifully restored property with interesting features
A gem of a Riad in a perfect location. Attention to detail, atmosphere, dining and staff all excellent.
N the bedroom had a Jacuzzi engine in six in the morning we woke up from the noise The hotel manager is very antipathetic The rooms on the first floor is very noisy guests next to the restaurant The room smelled moldy The room is small and the shower is dangerous not recommend
After spending a time in 2 different riads , this one didn't impress me at all. I didn't feel that the staff was attentive enough. There was not much effort put into breakfast ( average and on a self service basis). I would say that it's overrated- definitely not a 5 star.
The restaurant failed to meet our expectation as it is advertised as one of the best in Marrakesh. Breakfasts are ok but selection is very very limited and after the third day, a different bread selection would at least be nice. The swimming pool is really a very large tub… don’t expect to really be able to “swim”. The bathrooms are too dark in the room and we had no shower… just a large tub with a hand-hold shower head ! The Hamman is very old and seemed unclean – not at all something we would recommend. There is really no spa but the roof top Terrence is very nice. The hotel is not easy to find and thankfully we had someone from the hotel meet at that main square and walk us to the hotel which is just a five min walk.
Very friendly staff. Airport transfer option was extremely helpful and well arranged. The rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. The hotel is really charming and pictures you see reflect more or less what you will find there. The Wi-Fi is great. The location is great if you want to be in the middle of Medina and the Jamaa El Fna Square. The pictures of the hotel are inside the hotel walls and the world outside looks very very different. We got used to it after the second day but at first it was a little uncomfortable.
