The Riad is so beautiful. Well restored and immaculately kept. Everything runs smoothly and owners and staff are very helpful-their English better than my French! The most comfortable bed ever, with opulent furnishings. The Riad is, in reality, two minutes from the square - many tell fibs about this. So peaceful inside - you could hear a pin drop most of the time - makes you whisper. Our room was on the ground floor. Nice breakfast for 3 days but would get very repetitive. We kept our key so that we could come and go during the day. Overall, very lovely stay.
The roof terrace was lovely but we had specifically asked for a ground floor room due to mobility problems - husband's new knee and my Arthritis. Many steep steps up to the roof. Didn't ask for downstairs service so maybe our own fault. A bit chilly - couldn't get the AirCon/Heater to work properly.
Absolutely lovely Riad, staff was great and helpful especially Smail ! In the middle of Medina just couple of minutes from Jamaa el-Fna.Would highly recommend it , easy to book, pleasure to deal with-will be back!
Decoration of communal areas and room was appealing and felt authentic.
Breakfast was of poor quality.
The location was really nice and all staffs are so kind. There was a lovely cat. I would like to stay again if I have an opportunity.
Very competent and unobtrusive service. The house is lovely to live in, and reflects a lot of care in decoration and maintenance. The night manager is great.
Any shortcomings arise from the nature of the property, and I would feel it was ungracious at the least, to criticise.
Great location close to the main square. Friendly helpful staff who spoke good English. Great breakfast and good Wifi.
The hotel is in the Riad quarter, near to the large Djemaa El-Fna Square, but because it is situated away from the main streets in the Medina, it is very quite in the hotel with no noise to hear from the Medina. The hotel is a converted old house, so you get all the original charm, although that means our room had no window to the outside, but instead to the patio, which were fine. The air-condition in the room works efficiently and so does the WiFi. Nice quite roof terrace with a small pool. And the situation of the hotel means the air is fresh. The hotel has a small library, so remember to bring a book you can leave behind when you leave :-)
Location Riad experience Breakfast terrace Spacious room Friendly staff
Breakfast got a little repetitive...and sweet
Very good sized room and quiet retreat from the square nearby. And someone to great you on return.Very clean facilities and staff friendly. Wi-Fi in rooms good.
The Riad is basically fine, just not for more than 3 or 4 nights. The staff is really friendly and breakfast was fine
The Riad is basically fine, but it's not easy to find. It was such a creapy feeling to walk to the hotel with your suitcases while all these people are staring at you from their small stores and looking at you like they are gonna jump up and attack you. Honestly, this was bothering me so much! Secondly, the security in the hotel wasn't great. Every room has only one key and you are not allowed to take it with you if you're leaving in the morning to go to the city center. Someone would stand at the reception to make sure you give it back. But the weird thing was that every time we came back, no one was there to give us our key and we could just grab it!! So basically, anyone could walk into the Riad and enter your room. Not a safe feeling!! And don't get excited by the pool, it is very small and the water is quite nasty
Great location. Ismail that works in the reception every night speeks good english and helps you with whatever you ask him for. The riad is beautiful and the terass on the roof was nice to sit on on the evenings. Good value for the prize!
The room was a bit nousy and the bed was to hard to sleep comfortable on. A little boring that the breakfast was totaly the same everymorning in 2 weeks. The roofterass was realy nice but the cought by the table wasnt comfortable. Also the "pool" could have been a little bit bigger, impossible to do anything else than put your legs in.
Proximity to the medina and Place Jmaa Al Fna
The riad was well taken care of and looked nice. The pool, although small, was good and the roof terrace was great because we had it for ourselfs! WiFi was quite OK for Moroccan standards.
The '24-hours reception' wasn't manned for 90% of the time. Everytime we wanted to leave or ask something we where calling 'Haloooo?' for about 5 minutes. When leaving the riad guests would leave their keys behind the reception, but we where questioning the safety since anyone could walk in and take the keys.
We had the most lovely trip at road mouna! Thank you so so much for being so hospitable. They catered at all of my dietary needs perfectly. The location was amazing just off the big square down the best and quitest street of which we were ascourted down every night. The pool was great because it was on the top of the terrace which is quite rare which meant we could sunbath and use the plunge pool easily. We had a lovely big room with a beautiful bathroom. So romantic and a truly amazing stay thank you so much!
Would have like to have felt a little more welcome. We felt like we were an annoyance at times but overall a really amazing stay.
The design and the rooms with bathroom were beautiful. Brilliant location in Medina, right next to the central market! Staff were so lovely and made our stay all the better.... So relaxing and the breakfast was delicious!
Nothing really... but if i was to be very picky... the mattress on the bed was a little too hard for our liking
The place was fantastic. Great location, less than 5 minutes to Jmaa el Fna square. Our room was the Violette Suite and it was incredible how big was it. The terrace was really nice, it was a pleasure have breakfast there. Try the little swimming pool when the weather is nice. Really quiet. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Wifi worked perfectly.
We can highly recommend Riad Mouna! The staff did the ulmost to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Our inbound flight was very early, still we were offered breakfast and could sleep a bit in another room, while waiting for our room to become available. The Riad is wonderfully decorated and the breakfast on the rooftop terrace was just fantastic. We would for sure come back to this Riad in the future!
Excellent all round- excellent staff especially Ismail!
We had a fantastic 5 night stay at riad Mouna. I would definitely recommend it ! It is only a couple of minutes walk to the main square so perfect location. Wifi was free which was an added bonus. All staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again! Great for any age - we were two girls 21 and 18. We coped by ourselves - Marrakech people are not as bad as you think! You just have to say no thank you A LOT!
Not that we didn't like anything just a couple of things that I should mention... Pool is only knee deep but there is also a shower on the rooftop to cool down with. Breakfast could be a bit bigger with more savory options. But the freshly squeezed OJ was yummy! There is a cat at the Riad. Can be noisy at night when the kids are playing in the alley. Taxi is cheaper to get when you are there from and to the airport. From the taxi rank at the bottom of the street a taxi to the airport is only 70dirham one way which is about £5. The taxis also know riad Mouna and from our experience they will take you all the way to the door on foot as the taxi can't drive through the souks. Only two sunbeds!
Very good money for value. Great breakfast on roof terrace. Perfect location. Beautiful patio.
The room with the external window is a bit noisy in the evening.
If you are traveling on a budget Riad Mouna is the hotel for you. It is in a good location and has very helpful staff. It is a small hotel with no fuss. Nice bed at the Bordeaux room.If you speak French you'll be fine. One staff member speaks some English but is not there all the time. Otherwise they'll find a way to communicate with you by using Google translator... They even accompanied me to the main street to catch a cab - that was nice.
This hotel is well over rated here, be careful! If you go to Marrakech to enjoy the nice weather as well as the city then this hotel is not for you. The swimming pool is a plunge pool, a little bigger than a bath and they have only two sun loungers, not enough for all guests and by the way, stuck in a small corner - definitely not inviting. It lacks comfort overall. The Bordeaux room where I stayed smelt a little bit of mould. This may be because the only window in the room faced the interior patio. The breakfast was mediocre (no eggs for example) and if you want to eat at the hotel you will not find many options - only one option which is a full three course menu.
Very relaxed stay, staff friendly and helpful. Nice and clean, breakfast simple but enough. Weather was hot, so plunge pool on roof terrace was great. Many riads only have these on ground floor, so fab if you want to sunbathe for a bit. All in all, would recommend.
Great location within 5 min walk of Jemma el Fna and other sites. Great breakfast choice yogurt fruit croissants pancakes bread OJ mint tea coffee good value
Location, English speaking staff, great breakfast, amazing roof top terrace, large bathroom (Marron Twin Room) hamman was lovely and a wonderful excursion was arranged through this riad.
Noise from reception & little privacy in the Marron Twin Room, which was on the ground floor by reception. Also has no outside window. On the plus side however, perfect wifi connection from down there!
Attention to detail to Moroccan culture. Cleanliness was superb. Comfortable bed. High quality furnishings. Lovely breakfast
Finding the Riad from the street. I would recommend entering the street from Janna El Fna Square end as the side street to this Riad is at that end. Look up high for signs on the side street walls.
