Riad Samsara is located in Marrakech. It is a 10-minute drive from the famous Djemaa El Fna square and El Badii Palace. Free Wi-Fi access is available in all areas.
Score from 7 reviews Exceptional
This Riad is inside the Medina of Marrakech, a 10 minute walk from Jamaâ El Fna Square. It has a terrace with views of the Atlas Mountains and Koutoubia Mosque.

With a rooftop terrace offering panoramic views of the Atlas Mountains, this riad has an outdoor hot tub. In the center of the medina (historic quarter), it is a 5 minute walk from Jamaâ El Fna...

We loved the room with a real flavour of Morrocco. The night we arrived it was raining and they put the fire on for us. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and the breakfasts were different every day. Everything was clean and good quality linen on the bed too.
nothing to fault for the price we paid we were very impressed
One of the hotel staff is an ex-mountain leader so is a good source of advice on excursions etc and welcoming. Beautiful view from the roof terrace for breakfast. Nice waterfall running down the main hall - on in the evenings ? Nice tea and very tasty welcome cakes.
Staff maybe work long hours so distinction between being there for the customer and being their to relax can be blurred. Noise - from bedroom on first floor can hear everything going on in the main entrance hall and in the street. We were only there for one night so imagine may make that little extra effort for longer term guests. Once you've added on VAT (see small print) and holiday tax of 2.50€ per day it adds up to similar price as a european hotel (76€/night for two). The hotel is situated on streets that are not very attractive so no immediate sights on your doorstep.
Rashid the host was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. A nice breakfast, served on the pleasant terrace. Spacious and stylish bedroom. Location near the classy end of the souk.
Proximity to the mosque meant that the call to prayer was loud in our room.
Clean beautiful riad in a good location
Staff which was originally welcoming and nice forgot about the second night, left 2 women in the Riad at night and wasn't there in the morning to serve us breakfast or check us out. We had to let ourselves out after helping ourselves to some yogurt we found in the kitchen. We left a note at the desk expressing our discontent and asking them to charge the room to the cc. Even though they were apologetic they didn't offer any discounts to offset our inconvenience.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. If you would like to do tours outside of the city they can arrange it for you at a very reasonable price
The mosque is about fifty metres from the Riad so make sure you pick up some of the free ear plugs.
Just spent 4 nights at the Riad Mur Akush and I must say it was a lovely hotel with equally lovely people running it. Was fantastic to stay somewhere that felt so authentic. Loved the rooftop terrace where we were able to watch the sunset at night. Loved the open courtyard in the middle of the hotel. Had a meal there on the first night, a delicious lamb tagine. Could have fed at least 4 of us so we were stuffed as there were only 2. Breakfast every morning were gorgeous home made cakes. Location: about a 10 - 15 minute walk to the main square and Karoubia Mousqe. The Hamman next door but one to the hotel is a must. Had the most fantastic massage there. Definately worth a stay!!
The riad was beautiful, the staff were exceptional and very attentive! Had a wonderful stay, the room was stunning..had everything you need. The sheets were crisp, the air con never failed and even had complimentary earplugs for the mosque callings every night. Really recommend eating in the riad, we organised a meal for when we arrived and it was amazing. Food was excellent, very filling and lots of it. The staff were very helpful, and organised anything we needed like meals, airport transfers and excursions and all at a very reasonable price. The location is perfect, just 10 minute walk from the main square. Really recommend.
People very friendly, generally efficient, informative and the dinner of beef tajine was better than a fancy restaurant in town. We would say it's the people make this Riad a success.
The Riad is a little tired and could do with some tlc. It's also a bit of a trek to the main square, but you're relatively close to the new town and it's the cafe called "16" has the best coffee in Marakech. On your first day, you're tired and it's easy to get taken advantage of - you do. You know the games; we took and official guide - he wouldn't leave us alone and we thought he would keep the others from pestering us - true. So we paid 100 Dhr for one hour. However, he was mainly a salesman for the shops. They get commission on every sale so they take you to shops to sell you things. Do not think they are being friendly, they are out to skin you. So we went to buy a bag for my wife as her's broke on the way out. We negotiated the price down from 900 to 400 Dhr, then we asked about Argan oil, so he took us to the cooperative in the souk where we paid 240 for three little bottles with perfume. Then he insisted to take us for a look at carpets. We told him we had no interest in carpets, but he was very insistent. After 30 minutes of tea with maybe 20 carpets put out before us and told several times that we weren't interested in carpets, (even though they said today was the only day that we could get their special prices ....), we walked out with a business card. We then said we'd like to find somewhere to eat ...and of course were taken to the most expensive restaurant in town whose food was very average - the Riad's was much better. We went along with this game just to gain experience. The next day we made our own visits and found great restaurant, not expensive overlooking the square. Marrakech is ok for a couple of days, but if you can head to Essaouira for a few day and not Agadir which is a dump.
Rashid was a terrific host: personable, friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating. Mohammad and Serena were equally gracious and accessible to respond to our numerous queries.
Wi-fi was spotty in some places, but that's as tough as our day ever got.
We were very happy with the service and the romantic room in Riad Mur Akush. The staff was excellent!
Lovely Riad and a great location .I have to say the staff were extremely helpful especially Rachid who made our visit memorable he was so warm and kind . than you for such a lovely stay .I would recommend and return
The rooftop terrace with views over the medina, the decor of the hotel, the friendliness of the owner.
It took some time to find the hotel in the labyrinth of alleys in the medina - without a local guide it would have been impossible to manage - but this is a small price to pay for staying in the medina.

Leaving the Riad
Staff were extremely helpful. We arrived early in the morning and our room had no yet been vacated, irrespective of this the staff gave us a room to use (shower etc) until our room was cleaned. Location is excellent - close to main yet not ridiculously busy roads in Marrakech. Definitely located in the better (safer) parts of the medina. Riad is quiet and very relaxing place to stay in. Definitely recommended. Breakfast was also very fresh and filling.
Wonderful riad with beautiful furnishings and a terrace for breakfast and relax. The staff is really nice and helpful for every need. The riad is located in a good location for exploring the Medina and Majorelle gardens on foot. Essential for a visit to Marrakech staying in a riad so special. 100% recommended.
The staff here were very helpful with anything we asked about I could not fault the service.
We stayed at Riad Mur Akush for our last night in Morocco. Having stayed at slighty cheaper places earlier in our trip, we had decided to splash out for the last night. We were not dissappointed! Mur Akush is luxurious and beautifully decorated in a traditional morrocan style, with beautiful artworks and antiques. It is in a nice part of of the medina and about a fifteen minute walk (if you don't get lured into a shop) from the main square. The staff are extremely nice and very professional. Nice breakfasts, comfortable beds good showers, and also very nice soap and shampoo in the bathroom! The staff will also arrange a variety of trips for guests outside of Marrakech as well, which we did not try but looked great.
Everything was good.
Beautiful and tranquil Riad in a perfect location. We were treated like royalty and loved every minute of our stay. Highly recommended.
Breakfast on the terrace(oj,bread, jam, yoghurt, pancakes, tea, coffee) . Cooking class with the riad cook(10euros). Airport pickup, (15 euros) we never would have found it otherwise. Very friendly staff.
Bit dark in room. Lighting insufficient. Early morning wake ups due to mosque next door. (But earplugs provided!)
the rooms were beautiful, an oasis from the outside. The terrace was just delightful.
I don't usually write reviews, but I would highly recommend Riad Mur Akush following at stay in February with a friend for my birthday. A lovely friendly family run place, after arranging for a driver to pick us up at the airport we were greeted with fresh mint tea and pastry deserts. We were given a map of the city which one of the staff who talked us through this to help us understand the layout of the city and the locations of the key attractions. We found the location perfect being at the outer Western edge of the medina making it much easy to locate and also being close to a mosque helps. As it is on the Western side it provides the perfect combination of character accomodation in the medina, but also being only a 15 minute walk away from the new city (where there are bars serving alcohol are should you fancy a drink, or the more designer shops if that's your sort of thing). I was concerned initially about being so close to the mosque, but though I heard the prayer calls slightly on the first night (I am a very light sleeper), it was not that loud or a problem, and I didn't hear them at all on the second night. We stayed in room Meli and a twin room was provided as we requested so perfect for two friends. It had real character and a gorgeous bathroom! Lovely roof top terrace to relax and take in the sights from above including the nearby mosque and great views of the atlas mountains.... A hearty breakfast, different each day, was included in the rates and was available until 11am .Amazing homemade jam! I left my smartphone in the room by accident and this was kept safe and returned to me.
We stayed at Riad Mur Akush before and after our three night tour around Morocco. Our first room was on the first floor was lovely - big enough for the three of us. My only criticism would be that it was a bit dark but the weather at the time was very dingy and a canopy covered the courtyard because of the rain. When we returned from our trip we were upgraded to a fantastic top floor suite which was quite outstanding. It was huge, bright and luxurious. We had such a great time - the members of staff were all excellent, the breakfasts were delicious and the roof terrace pleasant and comfortable - that we planned to return for a weekend in April. Sadly Riad Mur Akush was fully booked so we are having to stay at another riad instead.
The staff the breakfast the dinner they cooked for us all very good and nothing too much trouble.
The beds were hard ours and our friends but that's all.
Very nice place. Recommended!
