The staff were so incredibly lovely and welcoming. I have never felt so at home in a place before. The wifi was excellent and good for keeping contact with loved ones at home. I felt so safe in a country that I was a little worried about travelling too on my own. The people were lovely and the staff at Riad Rocco went out of their way to ensure I felt comfortable.
Nothing. What an amazing introduction to Morocco. I would go back in a heartbeat.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good location. Refurbished traditional Riad. Pleasant traditional Moroccan food served in the evening. The larger bedrooms are very pleasant.
A bit chilly in the hotel in December but am sure this is not an issue for most of the year. The small bedrooms are quite small...
Just off one of the main streets of the medina, great location in the medina. The building like many others in Fez in 800 years old, but they've fixed it up a lot and made beautiful bathrooms. The heating really worked and heated the room up fast. Shower was also nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. Basic breakfast, but served on lovely Fez pottery.
We booked a dinner but they didn't make it. There are plenty of places to eat out though. It is kind of dark, maybe all these old places in Fez are though. Also compared with Marrakech, prices in Fez medina for Riads seem to be high for what you get. This is a general trend not just for this Riad.
Extremely helpful and friendly staff that really wants to make you feel at ease.
Nice riad in a very good location to discover Fez. Friendly and attentice staff. Overall, good value for money.
The house is immaculately restored to very comfortable condition yet it is not over decorated. The design and decoration allows you to appreciate the traditional design of the building. The rooms are huge, perfect for a family or a group of friends traveling together who want to share a suite. The house is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The staff were very welcoming, sincere and helpful in ensuring that our brief stay was pleasant. Upon my request, the owner/manager arranged for an excellent tour guide who walked me and my friends around the city, illustrating the history of the major buildings and bringing us to local eateries - make sure to try the local fava Bean soup called bissara. I would enthusiastically recommend staying here.
For the uninitiated, the Riad might be difficult to find. Be sure to follow the hotel's detailed directions or ask for the owner to meet you to guide you in. Wi-Fi signal might not reach into your room strongly if you are staying on an upper floor. The included breakfast might be on the light side for some. Other than these minor quibbles, I was very pleased with Riad Rocco.
Nice rooms, nice breakfast and a fine hot shower. The staff went to get us a bottle of wine in the middle of the night and they even arranged for food to be delivered to the riad.
All! Mustafa, the owner is an incredible person. Made us feel so well and confortable! Everyone in the streets know him. He even offered to be our tour guide on a holiday because nobody was working. The personal of the Riad also were extremelly nice. 100% recommendable.
Nothing to complain!
Great rooftop,nice staff,good breakfast!
We booked dinner there, but it was forgotten and we didn't find out until dinnertime
Food atmosphere and location
Stairs to place to eat but this is typical of morocco authetic places. It would not put me off gong again.

The Riad is a lovely building in an easy-to-find part of the medina. The staff are friendly and helpful. Yoko came to the nearby Bab Boujloud to meet us when we arrived and took good care of us from then on.
A wifi extender could be placed somewhere near the terrace to improve the signal. Also, patching holes in the walls and other small fixes would enhance the beauty of the place.
Centrally located in Medina but in a quiet alley. Very easy to find. Staff helpful and friendly. Stayed for 2 days in July.
Nice traditional feel about the place with modern facilities. Staff went out of there way to help us. Highly recommend.
Both the hotel and staff are great! The staff lead us to the post office, invited us to join their dinner, helped us every thing we asked. It is a perfect place to stay when you in Fes.
Because of the low season, we couldn't find desert tour group to join from Fes to Marrakech. We spent almost doubled price on they called "private tour" which arranged by hotel. The fact is we were transported by grand taxi, and there was no English speaking guide but a taxi driver, who couldn't speak any, not even a little. In this case, we couldn't see the difference with CTM bus except no air condition in taxi. The most sad and disappointed thing is that we paid all the fees in advance because we trusted the manager so much, so we didn't have any chance to negotiate again. I never forget that he said "no problem my friend" when we asked " can you give us a guide who can speak good English?" I think I will take it as a lesson about trust. And I suggest that you'd better start the tour from M, then you will have more options. Or find a professional agency.
Highly recommended. Fantastic location in the medina yet easy to find even after dark, and just a short walk from taxis and cars. The location is safe and well lit, right off one of the two main streets and not far Bab Boujloud which is one of the main gates. Our room was spotless, quiet and comfortable. The huge shower was a treat! And the air conditioner kept us in total comfort. Our hosts made every effort to take care of us and they speak excellent English. Breakfast was great, served on the terrace with a tremendous view of the medina. The huge thermos of coffee was a fantastic start to each day! They coordinated our early AM ride to the airport and everything worked like clockwork and was less expensive than coordinating our own taxi. I think Riad Rocco is a tremendous value and I would stay here again. Thank you!!!!!
Our stay at Riad Rocco was just wonderful! We had a beautiful view from the terrace where we had breakfast-- highly recommend staying here!! Especially liked the room on the top floor large with a great breeze. The staff and owner helped us repeatedly, always went out of their way to make our stay perfect. Best place in the medina that I know, and have stayed in Fez previously, will definitely return here when in Fez. 1
Good location Friendly and helpful staff Stylish building Good breakfast
Steep staircases Dark room
We liked the location, well prepared food and very friendly staff.
- We got a VERY SMALL room even though it said on the internet that the rooms are very spacious and despite the fact we were the only guests! - Before our trip we reached out to the Riad and asked for help concernimg a tour guide. The owner booked us a tour guide who was a fraud, because he charged us for the whole day even though the trip just took three hours. (apart from other inconveniences) We talked to the owner about our bad experience but he didn't contact the tour guide he apparantely knew to get the money back. - One day before we left they wanted us to pay the bill. They wanted the money in cash because they DON'T accept any cards even though it is said in the booking details. - The breakfast the next day was - as expected - horrible. We only got tea and plain bread with a lame excuse. - We had the impression that the German owner couldn't cope/was in a conflict with his employees which as a result led to a very negative atmosphere in the Riad. We have stayed in many Riads during our stay in Marocco but wouldn't recommend this Riad to anyone!
Unfortunately I spent only 1 night in this Riad and wish I could stay much longer;I was here with my mother. The Riad is really beautiful, quiet but right in the middle of everything (main attractions, restaurants, market..)!!! breakfast is very good, my room was comfortable and bathroom was huge and beautiful! Mustapha is one of the best guys I have ever met and helped me out with all my questions!Really hope to come back one day!!thank you guys!
The owner Freddy was very careful and Mustafa and Mohammed, and the rest of the staff, made us feel like at home. Very pleasant place, excellent location. Definitely recommended.
The location is perfect, central in the Medina of Fes. The Riad itself is beautiful and the staff helpful.
Breakfast is not served earlier than 8 which is inconvenient if you want to leave early.
The staff and owner were friendly and helpful. The breakfast were tasty. Wifi connection is good.
We arrived late, so we stay at the Riad for dinner, but the dinner price obviously were over priced. One Tangine for 3 persons to share costed us 45 Euro. We stayed for 2 nights, but there was no room cleaning on the 2nd day.
Thanks a lot ! It was a great time there, the services and the people: Mohammed, Saed and Mustafa, thanks!
