With panoramic views of Kotoubia Mosque and the heart of the Medina, where it is situated, this 16th-century Riad is a 2-minute walk from Jamaâ El Fna Square. It has a restaurant, garden and a hammam....

- We were made to feel very welcome throughout our stay - Excursions, restaurant reservations and taxi transfers were made without hesitation by the manager - It is a very comfortable Riad. Lovely breakfast too! - The main square and Medina is a short walk away.
The Riad was not easy to find on the day we arrived! However, it was very near where the taxi drop us off, and easily a greeter would be nice to take us to the Riad. Breakfast was sufficient and good! The Riad ran out of map on the first day and didn't bother to get us one for the next 4 days!! Moustafa who is the night guy was great!! He gave us lots of information and were very helpful!
Make sure you tipped the housekeeper everyday, if not, u will notice your shampoo/hand wash not refill. ( We ran out of cash just one day, but did gave more on the last 2 days )
The location is great both for exploring the Medina and travelling out to the newer pasts of the city or late night partying. The staff are all friendly and helpful with any questions and tips and booked dinner, airport transfers and other items at a fair price. I would recommend this lovely Riad if visiting Marrakech, and don't forget to use the nice top Terrance!
This Riad was excellent throughout our stay, welcomed with mint tea by the friendly and accommodating staff it got our break off to a fantastic start, the riad was peaceful yet centrally located, they provided a bottle of champagne upon request and the breakfast was delicious. We also booked out airport transfers with the riad which were also great. Would highly recommend this riad if visiting Marrakech.
Lovely clean Riad but the bed was so hard we only stayed two nights. We arrived quite late and just wanted to sleep from our flight and was too tired to change To another Riad the next day. Our backs were hurting so bad in the morning. Bit noisy in the morning. No locks on doors!! We were assured by the owner our stuff would be safe but we still felt a bit uneasy leaving our room unlocked. Safe was broken and we were given a key to use. Breakfast was ok. Nightmare to find and we had to pay the taxi driver double to locate it. Close to the medina.
Rock Hard bed. No locks on doors.
We liked the convenient location and the friendly helpful male staff. However the female staff are so miserable looking , actually unfriendly and taking into account culture differences etc, a smile would go along way.
The souks can become a bit of a headache. And they are a bit touchy feeley when they want to be. Just be firm and say no don't touch! As for the riad the mattress is like a block of concrete!
Beautiful riad! Once in from the dark alleyway it is beautiful. Greeted with free mint tea and the staff were lovely, the riad was empty when we were there for some reason but it was nice and quiet. Bedroom was gorgeous!
Not sure what it is about breakfasts in Morocco but we ate at numerous places and was all very the same, lots of bread and carbs, not great. The riad is very hard to find and is down dark alleyways, quite scary. Obviously they can't help the location but better signing needed, we had to get a local to take us.
Staff excellent. Nothing too much trouble. Breakfast good with boiled eggs, bread and cake. The mint tea was delicious. Excellent map of area provided free.
Had a great stay at Riad Selouane. Both Nuri and Moustaff very welcoming and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Good location just inside the medina, easy walking to souk, square, plenty of restaurants close by to suit all pockets. Breakfast was simple but fine, bread, jams, juice etc. Make sure you get a map as it was so useful. Nice roof terrace. Would definitely recommend.
Great Riad and breakfast was Delicious
Such a wonderful riad within the perfect amount of distance to jma el fnaa square - just far enough to be quiet at night, but close enough to make the (relatively simple) journey on foot in under 10 mins. Staff couldn't do enough for you, so welcoming and full of advice and tips. Added bonus of the roof terrace and a very reasonably priced drink made for a lovely nightcap after an evening in the souks. Breakfast was fresh, simple and delicious, and the wifi signal is excellent. The rooms are beautiful, and having only 5 in the entire riad makes the experience intimate and boutique. The kind of hotel you'd pay through the nose for in London! I cannot recommend Riad Selouane enough, and will definitely be back!
I absolutely loved this Riad and I can even say that it is the nicest place I have ever stayed atl!!! It is right in the center of everything, the staff is extremely nice and helpful, the rooms are beautiful, well decorated and very clean, the restaurants around are delicious and the price you pay for what you get is really amazing. My room had 2 ceiling to floor big and tall windows and view the beautiful inside terrace and I had a big marble shower. The room was extremely quiet. We were welcomed with tasty mint tea, the staff helped us with directions and even one staff member "Nourri" brought us for a beautiful 4 hour tour of the "Medina" while explaining to us many interesting things about their culture, how they work the leather, the metal, the wood and etc. and at no cost. It was my first time in Morocco and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. I am certain that this hotel tops all other hotels in "La Medina" of Morocco. You will be impressed!!! Don't get fooled by the small wooden door you enter from because inside, it is a castle!!! :-)
calm location, very nice staff and super amazing breakfast
a bit difficult to find, no TV and hairdryer
Owner spoke English fluently. Located in medina. Free AC. Free wifi. Beautiful central open court. Price. Breakfast simple but ok. Good size of room. Pool small but ok (we stayed here in July)
Rooms with old style doors/locks: you need padlock to lock door and then cleaning lady cannot enter. Result was we didn't lock door but fortunately nothing was stolen. Alley leading to hotel was dark and gloomy. You can hear people/scooters easily during the night but fortunately not a lot of traffic.
Fatima (the maid) is very very nice! Good rooms, excellent decoration, very safe and clean, good location (10m from El-Fna).
Loved the look and feel of the place, and breakfast was great!
Our room was quite dark with not near enough lighting, making it hard to see even during mid-day. I also expected a bit more hospitality in the way of mint tea or the like, and while the two ladies that worked there were absolutely wonderful (Fatima and Insa (sp?), you had to request tea and then were charged for it.
Lovely staff and lovely hotel, really relaxing.
In general it was very nice place. the room was beautiful and everything was very clean.
our last day, i went to take the breakfast mine while my boyfriend slept. after waiting for a while and seen that they served another couple who arrived after me I went to ask. Unfortunately the woman did not speak a word of English or Spanish and my french is very limited. She just keep repeating over an over something.. i had to ask another guest to help me to understand. Apparently she was not going to serve me breakfast until my boyfriend arrive as it was 9.50 and we had to leave the room at 10 am. She was quite rude to be honest.
Riad employees were really helpful and friendly, which made our visit very special.
Maybe there should be more light in the rooms.
Good value, very clean, nice breakfast, helpful staff.
Location was tricky to find on a couple of occasions. Air conditioning not very effective.
Location is just right, about 10 minutes on foot from Jemaa el-Fnaa, through the Souks. Clean, nice rooms. The owner was very pleasant and made great mint tea! Good breakfast.
Nothing, although what might be a problem for some is that it is kind of hidden and not easy to find for the first time!
Everything, people, staff was just an amazing country x
Location is fantastic inside the Medina, breakfast is comprehensive and delicious (albeit very carbohydrate based, which is the Moroccan style for breakfast).
Wifi didn't work well in my room upstairs, advice/welcome from the manager could have been more helpful in terms of finding restaurants, etc. Very difficult to find, and no signs on the main road. Emailed and asked for airport pickup, which was not there when I arrived, and no apology offered from the manager. The pool is not very inviting, more of a plunge pool, than a practical place for a a swim. Despite all of this, it is a nice riad in a great location.
The two issues we had was that the pool was dirty and therefor we decided not to use it. the second issue was that we were overcharged 20 euro compared to our the price we had booked online
Room was lovely, spacious, comfortable and clean. The whole riad was kept immaculately. Great position.
