Everything was exceptional. The staff were outstanding,and the owner Luc went out of his way to make our stay so enjoyable - it was perfect. The location was excellent the main centre was only a few minutes walk away. An outstanding riad offering an outstanding experience.Thank you soooooooo much.

Location is great down a few alleys , very close to Jema al Fna..about a 7 minute easy walk. There is 24 hr parking available very close by if you hired a car. Motorway links are very accessible. Loads of restaurants nearby to choose from and ATM's to withdraw cash if you need. Luc and his staff are extremely wonderful and go out of their way to serve you. Muhammad in particular is a gem...polite and humble, ever ready to help. He is always available to help no matter what the time. Luc made sure he kept in contact with us before our arrival and sent out Muhammad to fetch us when we arrived in Marrakech to guide us to the Riad. They handled all our luggage and gave us a first class welcome even though we got there past midnight. The Riad served us breakfast no matter what time we got up and you could choose to be served in the roof garden or the dining area downstairs. Breakfast had the traditional breads, freshly squeezed juices, mint tea, hot chocolate, fruit salads, jams, different cakes everyday and cereals. Rooms are super clean and serviced everyday, the bathrooms are quite luxurious and spacious. They provide thick bathrobes and high quality towels (towels changed everyday). Each room has an air-con and you can regulate the temperature to be comfortable. The service is very personal and every guest is made to feel welcome. The female staff even washed some of our clothes without charging. They offered to book us into the hamam and massage the first day we arrived. The Riad is so safe that our kids, who are 13 and 11 years preferred to stay there while we went out shopping. The staff took care of them and served them complimentary cakes and tea while we were away. Wifi/Internet is free and there is good reception. We definitely recommend this beautiful Riad to everyone where you will get a warm reception a comfortable stay and great customer service. You come as a guest and leave as a friend.

From the moment we arrived until we had to leave, it was an incredible experience. You are instantly made to feel welcome. The Riad is perfectly located in the heart of the medina. The service was excellent, extremely helpful and friendly staff. It's a great place to stay and relax. I would definitely go back!

The Dar Sholmes is a perfect getaway, a hidden gem! Everything was perfect and the team (Luc, Robbie, Mohamed, Betty, Miryam) there goes above and beyond to make your stay memorable. Luc/Robbie are recently the new owners and they pour their hearts into every detail, making your feel part of their family. Highly recommend!

Location: in the maze of Marrakech is pretty easy to find and close to main tourist spots. Staff: Sergio is an amazing guest who knew all our needs and gave us the chance of enjoying Marrakech in our short 2 days trip.

Everything was perfect

When we arrived at Dar Sholmes the first thing I loved was the beautiful decor. We arrived tired and frazzled from our long air fligh and were immediately seated and given refreshments and our cases taken to our room ,where our bed was covered with rose petals . Just lovely !!. Dar Sholmes is decorated with authentic Moroccan paintings and bric a brac. The ambiance was soft lights and subtle soothing music. Our lovely host was extremely helpful and only too pleased to give us advise and local information. We loved the location as we were right in the middle of the "real " Morocco. Thank you Dar Sholmes for making our holiday one we will remember always with warm feelings.

The staff took excellent care of me. I became ill during my stay and they not only went to the pharmacy to get the medicine I needed, they also made soup to help my stomach better. Thanks guys!

We had an amazing time at Dar Sholmes. The staff was very friendly and gave us good advices bout Marrakesh. The room was very clean and decorated very nicely. The breafast on the roof of the hotel was good and changed every day. The hotel has a perfect location.

First day, narrow road to hotel made us suspicious later we were comfortable.

All the staff at the hotel were invariably helpful and friendly, and the owner, Andre, helped us to book restaurants, and made good suggestions about places to visit other than Marrakech. We would definitely stay here again.

Warm welcome, nice and helpful staff. Big bathroom and tastefully arranged rooms. Cosy courtyard to sit in the evening.

Breakfast could include more fresh food like fruits, local cheese, olives etc. a bit expensive given the fact that if fully booked it can be quite noisy since all the rooms face a small courtyard. Single room rate should be much lower than for two persons like in Europe since you do not use all the towels, eat a second breakfast etc.

Andre and his staff are unfailingly helpful and courteous. The hotel is conveniently situated for the sights in the city and the airport, and I would recommend this riad to a friend unreservedly.

The staff was very kind, discreet and helpful, very clean and good proximity to the centre of the city - walking distance to most parts of the city.

Keep in mind this riad is in the Medina and there is about a 3-4 minute walk from where a taxi can drop you off to the front door. I was a little nervous the first couple of times, but by the end of my trip I was fine.

Excellent location, beautiful Riad, you will be taken care of everyone who works at The Riad, nice breakfast on the terrace. Nice rooms with great bathrooms. Do not miss the dinner good cook. I can highly recommend a stay at this hotel.

The staff at Dar Sholmes is wonderful and treat you like family. They arranged to pick me up from the airport, which I strongly recommend as the Riad is off of a main road and might be difficult to find upon arrival in Marrakech. It is beautifully designed and the rooms are very comfortable. I suggest eating dinner here at least once during your stay as the meal is prepared fresh for you that day and will not disappoint. Also, the location is close to the main square and located within the Medina walls, giving you a true Marrakech experience. As a solo female traveler I would come back with a friend next time and definitely stay here again.

Le Riad est absolument magnifique. La décoration et l'équipement des chambres ont été étudiés dans le moindre détail. De plus, ce Riad est à la fois dans un quartier calme et très bien situé pour visiter la Médina. L'accueil est remarquable. Luc et son équipe font tout pour bien s'occuper de ses clients. A recommander sans hésitation!!

Bellissima accoglienza da Luc e dal suo staff. Le camere molto belle,nuove e pulitissime. Ci si sente come a casa propria , ottime colazioni sulla terrazza e relax serale. Ottimo rapporto qualita' prezzo e impagabile la gentilezza e disponibilita' di Luc.

Das Dar Sholmes ist die perfekte Wahl!! In der Medina, nah an allen Sehenswürdigkeiten und trotzdem total ruhig!!! Luc und sein Staff sind phantastisch und lesen dir jeden Wunsch von den Augen ab! Das Riad ist wunderschön neu renoviert und der Blick von der Dachterrasse unschlagbar! Dort das tolle Frühstück einzunehmen oder Nachmittags nach dem Sightseeing zu chillen ist einmalig!Wir können das DarSholmes zu 100% weiterempfehlen!!

Das Ryad Dar Sholmes ist ein wahres Bijou, ein Kleinod, ein Oase inmitten des quirrligen Quartiers Sidi Mimoun unweit des Platzes Jemaa el Fna. Auf der Dachterrasse oder im von einem Brunnen geschmueckten Innenhof kann man sich wunderbar von der farbigen Hektik der Souks erholen. Das Entscheidende dieses Ryads ist aber sein Personal. Der franzoesische Besitzer und sein Team unternehmen wirklich alles, um den Urlauberinnen und Urlaubern den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie nur moeglich zu gestalten. Dabei schaffen sie es ausgezeichnet, ein stimmiges Mass zwischen einer herzlichen Gastfreundlichkeit und einer angemessenen Distanz zu wahren. Erwaehnenswert sind weiter der ausgezeichnet funktionierende Transfer vom und zum Flughafen, die ausserordentliche Sauberkeit des Ryads sowie das reichhaltige Fruehstueck - besonders angenehm auf der sonnigen Dachterrasse.

El ambiente familiar

Das Riad ist an einer sehr guten Lage in Marrakesch (ca. 7-10 Minuten vom Place Djama el Fna zu Fuss). Man ist in der Medina aber trotzdem hat man seine Ruhe. Eine Oase in Mitten der Stadt. Wir wurden vom Flughafen Marrakesch abgeholt und bis dort hin gefahren wo sich das Riad befindet. Weil die Strassen in Marrakesch ziemlich eng sind, wurden wir vom Inhaber und seinem Mitarbeiter abgeholt und zum Riad begleitet (ca. 2 Minuten zu Fuss). Von dort an begann der wunderbare Aufenthalt im Dar Sholmes. Wir wurde mit Minztee empfangen und uns wurde jeder Wunsch von den Lippen abgelesen. Das 3-köpfige Team rund um den Besitzer des Riads war stehst freundlich, fröhlich, hilfsbereit und erfüllte uns jeden Wunsch den wir hatten, wir haben 4 neue Freunde dazu gewonnen. Oft musste man gar nichts sagen, denn für das Personal war das, was man wollte, selbstverständlich. Das Essen im Riad ist hervorragend. Wir haben täglich im Riad gefrühstückt und waren positiv überrascht. Das Angebot war sehr gross, man konnte immer Auswählen und täglich wurde variiert. Das Abendessen im Riad war jeweils hervorragend. Die Köchin kocht eine perfekte marokkanische Küche. Das Essen ist von A bis Z frisch und selbst zubereitet, sogar die Patisserie. Muss man probieren. Im Riad kann man auch Ausflüge buchen. Man sagt wo man gerne hin will oder was man gerne machen möchte, um den Rest kümmert sich das Team des Riads. Zudem begleitet einem ein Mitarbeiter des Riads in die Stadt wenn man will (er verhandelt dann auch die Preise wenn man etwas kaufen will etc.). Gerade wenn man das erste Mal in Marrakesch ist und den Weg vom/zum Riad noch nicht kennt empfiehlt es sich zu begleiten lassen ;-). Zurück findet man sicher alleine. Die Zimmer des Riads sind wirklich wunderschön, sehr sauber und geräumig, so dass man sich auf dem Zimmer ausruhen und für den nächsten Tag erholen kann. Man wird immer wieder aufs Neue überrascht, wenn das Zimmer gemacht wurde.

Es war schlicht weg ein perfekter Aufenthalt im familiären Riad.

フランス人オーナーをはじめすべてのスタッフの対応が大変素晴らしかったです。 まず空港からの交通手段に関して、1週間ほど前にメールでタクシー手配の有無を確認されました。手配をお願- いしリヤドの近くでタクシーを降りると、オーナーとスタッフが出迎えてくれていて、メディナの迷路の中をリ- ヤドまで案内してもらいました。その為、道に迷う事がなかったです。 到着すると、ハーブティーを出してもらい、しばし歓談…その後部屋を案内してもらいました。私たちの泊った- 部屋には、バスタブがありませんでしたが、かなり綺麗な部屋で快適に過ごす事ができました。Wi-Fi は問題なくつながりました。 オーナーの趣向で、部屋にはテレビはありませんが、1階のロビーには誰しもが見れる液晶テレビが置いてあり- ます。 朝の朝食は、毎日同じでバリエーションがありませんが、美味しかったのでさほど問題ではなかったです。 夜も事前連絡が必要ですが、ディナーを食べる事が出来ます。今回、たまたま同じ日に泊っていたカップルの彼- 女が誕生日といことで、ちょっとしたディナーパーティーがありました。サプライズ好きなオーナーが生演奏の- バンドやダンサーを呼んだりして、大いに盛り上がりました。 少しうざいと思う人もいるかもしれませんが、とても温かみのあるリヤドです。人とのコミュニケーションが好- きな方にはオススメです。 フナ広場までは、歩いて15分程度の距離です。
