Friendly manager & staff Great breakfast Fantastic roof terrace
Location is ok but not the most central Decor could be improved Not cheap hence average value for money
Beautifully decorated with everything you need for a relaxing and enjoyable visit to Marrakech. Tasty and varied breakfasts and Adam the owner is a great host. Would highly recommend.
I started my Moroccan trip at Riad Slawi in Marrakech. The owner, Adam, arranged to have us picked up and escorted to the hotel on arrival (much appreciated your first time at a hotel in Marrakech), greeted us with tea, helped us get situated, and provided useful information. The Riad is gorgeous and room comfortable (nice hot showers!). It's situated a close walk to the central Fem Jmal Enaplaza and just far enough from the madness. Would definitely stay there again/recommend.
Great location. Close to the market but in a quiet street away from the hustle and bustle. Adam, the owner, is also very accommodating and very welcoming.
Adam was very helpful both before we arrived and during our stay. He advised, organised, and solved our problems. We had an excellent dinner on our last night, and the breakfasts were excellent throughout. The room was very comfortable and well appointed.
The wifi wasn't working after the first day, not Adam's fault, and he arranged for us to go to a nearby Riad to use their wifi. And the weather was dreadful, very cold and wet. But not much that Adam could do about that either!
Really nice amenties Amazing value Host Adam is very helpful
A bit hard to find our way back at night from the main square. (However, there is an incredibly romantic restaurant called Dar Zellij right around the corner. We decided to stay in at night and had dinner at Dar Zellij, which is an experience in itself.)
Excellent all round
Riad Slawi is built in a newer building, unlike the other riads that we stayed in. The decor is less ornate, but quite tasteful. The rooms were quite well thought out and comfortable. Adam upgraded us to a suite which would have been vacant for the first two of our three nights. He also went to the train station to buy our tickets in advance. (We recommend this, as it is more likely to get you the seats by the window.) He also took my bag around the corner to get the zipper fixed, gratis. Breakfasts were more diverse than the usual riad fare, and we loved the fresh OJ every morning. We felt that Adam was available 24/7 and was always happy to be of assistance. The calls to prayer are not at all loud here, which helps immensely with sleep quality.
Adam had no control over the quality of the internet, which is sketchy everywhere in Morocco.
Spot on riad to stay at, peaceful, quaint, and well kept. Felt very welcome the whole time we were there, the hosts are excellent and very friendly. The main man Adam answered any and all questions we had, real helpful to say the least. Food is sublime, proper home cooked stylee, the lady cook knows what she is doing! Easy route to the main square, enjoyed playing footy with a few locals on the way. Check this place out its awesome!
Booked a transfer from the airport with Slawi and we got let down, thats about it.
A stunningly appointed riad inside the walls of the old medina in Marrakech - especially for the price, you absolutely can't beat this place. The owner Adam, and his dedicated staff, will really go above and beyond to make you comfortable! Marrakech can be a challenging city and having the right person to help you navigate it can make the difference between a great trip and a bad one. Adam helped me purchase train tickets, arrange for taxis, make dinner reservations, and book excursions. The room price includes a delicious breakfast - the spread is typical of Morocco but prepared fresh and with lots of love. If you get a little weary of trying to navigate the medina, arrange in advance to dine at the riad for dinner (amazing food!!!) or try Dar Zellij just around the corner. Their doorman will walk you back home if you're worried about finding your way.
As with most traditional riads, all of the rooms open onto the central courtyard. You can close windows and doors, but be prepared for some noise getting in (and out!).
Adam was a wonderful host and the accommodations were beautiful.
The location was a bit farther from the main square than I had thought.
Beautiful accommodation with perfect and effortless service. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was outstanding and Adam, as a host, couldn't have been more accommodating. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone! x
Owner, extremely helpful and goes out of his way to provide comfort, advice, assistance with bookings etc.
Adam was a super host and the Riad was small, beautiful and very comfortable. We also enjoyed a delicious dinner there.
From start to finish our week long stay at Riad Slawi was an absolute pleasure. The cuisine was delicious. Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff were approachable and very helpful. The owner Adam is a very nice guy and went out of his way to help with any query or request we had. We will recommend the Riad Slawi to all of our friends and family.
Adam the owner couldn't have been more helpful - he showed us around, made recommendations and helped arrange transport if needed. He was brilliant
Riad Slawi is a beautiful riad. The food at the riad is top notch. Wonderful breakfasts and dinners. We stayed in Marrakech for 4 days and had dinners there twice. Those were the best meals we had in Marrakech and that's saying something because we also tried several highly rated restaurants. The riad is a small, family-owned riad managed by Adam and his father. Adam speaks fluent English since he grew up in Canada. They try to make sure that you have a good experience and your needs are met. It is a quick walk to the souks 5-10 mins, but a little farther to the main plaza. Adam arranged for a taxi to pick us up at the airport and take us to the riad. It's helpful to have small change so you can tip the taxi and porter. A short 5 minute walk outside the riad takes you to a larger street where taxis are waiting for you. This makes it easy if you go outside the medina since getting a taxi and getting dropped off close to the riad is convenient. Just tell them to drop you off at Sidi Ben Slimane and it's less than a 5 minute walk away. If you want to stay at an affordable, beautiful riad with fantastic service and amazing food, then I can highly recommend Riad Slawi.
The main negative is that it is probably a 20-25 minute walk to the main plaza Jemaa el Fna. Medina's can be confusing because of all the narrow alleys and turns. So it is possible to get lost if you don't pay attention to details/landmark to help guide you back. However, this applies to many of the riads.
Adam and his staff accommodate any need you have i.e. special diet, assist with booking trains, taxi's and gives great advice on how to negotiate with merchants / drivers and how to make the best of your time in Marrakech. Adam made my train reservation for me and even went to the station to get my ticket for me. The rooms are spacious and extremely clean, the terrace is serene and beautiful. There are fridges in the rooms with cold drinks, the wifi works everywhere - even on the roof terrace. Adam speaks fluent English, French and Arabic which makes it easy for visitors to communicate their needs to the hotel. This is a wonderful RIad to stay in, I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have a memorable stay in Marrakech!
I have a terrible sense of direction so finding my way in the souks and back to the Riad was a challenge. Adam provides you with a good map - i finally got my bearings on the last day of my stay. The other guests in the Riad did not have any trouble at all with way finding. Adam was great, he offered to pick me up anywhere /anytime i got lost, all i had to do was call him!
Adam is a wonderful host. He really takes the time to find out what his clients are interested in and, if he thinks your idea isn't such a great one, he'll find a nice way to let you know it would be good to reconsider. Adam has taken great care to decorate the riad in a traditional manner, yet ensure it is comfortable for "modern" guests. Closet and bathroom space were ample for two people and the sitting area in our room was a nice bonus. The food was fantastic. We had one dinner and breakfast daily. Dietary concerns were addressed with no hassle. The fish, vegetables, fruits, and Moroccan pancakes and pastries were amazing. Also, if you wanted a beverage from the in-room refrigerator, prices were very reasonable.
A beautiful small riad where you're made to feel really welcome. It's decorated and furnished to a high standard, with great food - we ate there on our first night not wanting to navigate the medina in the dark for the first time and couldn't be happier with the three course home cooked meal we had. Adam the owner was extremely friendly and helpful. We'd definitely recommend.
Lovely small riad with a great owner/host (Adam) who made us very welcome. Very comfy bed & good size & always clean room. Lovely staff.
A tad too far from the central medina to return for the evening; still walkable but many lanes - some dark - to be negotiated at nighttime. (Although a petit taxi to/from Sidi Ben Slimane - which is a 5 minute walk from the riad - is another option)
great to be in centre of the old town staying in such a beautiful place. excellent evening meal, Adam very friendly and helpful in finding us a guide for a few tours we went on, also very peaceful.
A warm and comfortable Riad with a commitment to excellent service, the food we had at Riad Slawi was the best we ate in Marakesh. Mohammed ( Adams 'mini me' ) and the ladies were excellent hosts we felt really cared for ! The location is good in that it encourages you to explore the locality, we used taxis from the end of the lane to scoot around the city wall when we were flagging.
I'm glad we didn't have a ground floor room as it might well be noisy. Perhaps a little too many ' objet d art ' on display ? There is space on the roof terrace but it is limited.
An absolutely fantastic place to stay. Adam the owner could not have been more helpful and as the Riad wasn't full we we're upgraded to a room on the 1st floor which was much appreciated. We had arrived late on our 1st night and the dinner that had been prepared for us was arguably the best We had during our stay. we had a thoroughly relaxing stay away from the chaos of the souks. Would definitely recommend to anyone
