A great Riad in a perfect location for the old part of town! Would highly recommend this place.
verry friendly staff. the hotel had a beautiful patio. it,s in the medina. transfer is a good option. especially if arrive in mid night.
Beautiful riad run by a lovely very helpful family. Good value for money.
Breakfast was disappointing and although in a good location it is not very easy to find or access.
Breakfast was included, it was little, but at least there was enough coffee and tea. It was a round table where you could meet other tourists. It was quiet in the house.
A cat urinated in the bedroom, there was a smell. The waterpressure in the shower was lacking at some point
We are not really that budget a travel couple but took this place to try to keep the cost of a long trip down and it was a good pick!!Clean, cool, good wifi and very reasonable, manager speaks good english and is very helpful. Its close to an easy to navigate main 'road' in the medina and once found ok to get back to if you have a bit of a sense of direction? If you get a choice go for the top room its a bit more private. At around $30us per nite its a steal. Good food at the Cafe Arabe an easy walk.
Not too much furniture in the room [apart from the bed ofcourse] could use a suitcase stand and a couple of shelves for the bits and pieces
Great staff, good sense of hospitality, very nice and helpful
A bit hard to find and no signs, do not attempt to find on your own. Ring staff.
Even tho we are not really budget travellers we took a punt on this place to keep the expenses of a long trip a bit lower and although simple it had all we needed and for the Medina in Marrakech it was really simple to find and taxi to the door almost. Great to find again in the middle of the nite. For 30 odd $US per nite for an ensuite, aircond room with endless coffee and a bun for breakfast, its a steal. Excellent manager, will organise anything for you and great english. Good facilities, go for the aircond rooms. Excellent position, easy to get back to! many aren't. Easy access for taxi etc. Great wifi everywhere in hotel. Great value for money.
Little furniture in rooms [apart from bed] no hanging rail or suitcase shelf etc.[I explained what was needed so you POSSIBLY have it when you go???]
When the staff was around, they were very friendly and did everything they could to help us. The tour agency they have was very good. We booked the Desert Tour with them and it was amazing. When we had a problem with the wifi, the manager took us to a "second" Riad Slima, close to the one we were staying, and let us use the internet there.
Sometimes the staff just disappeared and we needed someone to help us. Some of them didn't speak English, only french, and couldn't help us. Although the breakfast was included when we booked, we didn't have it in any of the 4 days we spent in the hotel. Also, the staff wasn't available in the morning, so that we could ask for it. On the 2 final days that we spent there the wifi simply didn't work! It was completely out of connection.
We absolutely enjoyed our stay . The rooms were beautiful, the breakfast tasty and the staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located conveniently at one of the entrances to the medina, which makes it easily accessible and it's 10min walk from Djamaa el Fna.
Rooms were large and comfortable, breakfast was nice, staff was helpful and it was a pleasant stay overall. Quiet street as well
Location was a bit far
The owner of the Riad was so nice and helpful, she made perfect tea and gave us map on the fist day and she woke up at 6 to make the breakfast for us, although they serve them from 8.30 am. For the first time is good stay and good value for money. The first day everyone is lost in small streets of the Medina, but 2 and next days we found our way to the main Market and back to the Riad with no problems, it takes around 10 minutes get to the Market. The bus station is 5 and Majorelle Jardin -10 minutes walking from the Riad.
and the owner and her staff were very friendly and helpful. Upon arrival we were given mint tea on the terrace.
-Best feature: owner/staff of this riad. They are extremely kind, helpful and welcoming (I decided to spend with them a couple of night talking, laughing, drinking berber tea and smoking Narghilè: everything offered by them. This is what I meant for "H"ospitality)!! -The apartment was quite comfortable even if essential, the space of the rooms was enough, bath with shower (hot water very quickly), 3 electrical sockets (you can charge/use your electronic devices comfortably), temperature kept acceptable inside the apartment (using just a fan) altough 35°C outside. -Fast WiFi connection
-just a NOT important: the position (about 2km on foot far from Djemaa El Fna if you don't get lost, but you will at 99% of the times) might be not so obvious to find with just a map but you can ask the shoppers where "rue El Gza" is firstly and then find the right alley "derb El Boussni". Other option is a taxi: 20/30MAD (2/3euros). After 22h30 just take a taxi because passing through the suq might make you feel uncomfortable because some streets are closed during the night. I really believe that having some walk through the suq is worth the price of this Riad!
It's a pretty and well-located place, which could make for a nice riad if it was managed properly. Sadly, it isn't.
Impossible to find unless guided, filthy room, bedbugs, only one socket in the whole room, breakfast was just bread and tea. It's cheap, but still not worth it.
this was our 2nd stay in this riad in 7 days. we went to desert, and stayed additional night in Marrakesh. manager told us he owns another riad close-by. it was close but terrible. room under the roof with live turtle in it. turtle made mess, it was dirty. room was connected with bathroom and didnt have any door between those two.. too hot also
The Riad is very conveniently located next to the souks in the medina, yet on a calm street away from the noise. The place was enchanting with beautiful decoration, architecture, design and much more. The view from the top terraces (one of the highest in the medina) was amazing. They arranged a short trip to the Palmeraie for me, which was very convenient, and even helped us with suggestions on where to find some local art we had been looking for. Overall a wonderful stay.
This hotel is in a good location, only 10 mins from the main square, Close to all major attractions, nice place for a very reasonable price, Our room was comfortable, the beds especially, The staff themselves were excellent nothing was too much trouble, they even chilled a bottle of champagne for us to celebrate my partners birthday. I would recommend this hotel as central to everything you could need.
We booked hotel at this hotel, but guy from reception took us to near hotel and said that they have two hotels. I feel there like at prison. Our room very small and together with a toilet, no any doors. Window (if it can be call the window) was too small, may be 30X20 cm. The bed and pillows were like bricks. No any confort and any confidence. It was very hot, conditioner I saw in toilet, but no console to plug it. No hot watter, one towel for 2 persons. Brakfast: caffee, bread and jam, nothing more. Map which they gave us to find the way to the El Fna and back - wrong. It seems that they did it that tourists lose. The guys in the street shows the way and earn from tourists (asked 5 EU when show way just from 20 metres). This guy from reception said that he can drive us to the hotel for 10 EU, but then I gave him 200 DH (almost 20 EU) he took and did not give me 90 DH back. It was worst hotel I ever stay. I am glad that I stayed in Marakesh only 1 night. I like Marrocoo, but not Marakesh and its fakes.
An excellent riad with a charming host and great facilities. Very stylish, the rooms were beautifully furnished. The location though was very tricky to find, so I'd recommend a map or else you'll be assisted by 'local help'. Apart from that, its an excellent hotel I'd wholeheartedly recommend
Very authentic and the roof top was lovely to sit at. Good breakfast!
No fans in the room so very hot at night! Also very noisy. The address and name of the Riad was different so caused a big muck up when we tried to get picked by a tour. This Riad is actually called Riad Resturant on the outside and has a completely different address to the one that they give you when booked!
Lovely old building with great potential if maintained properly.
Location was a bit out of the way, would have been difficult to find without the pre-booked taxi. Overall a lack of attention to small details which all add up, hardly ever any staff at reception, missing light bulbs in the bathroom, breakfast was poor. Hot water seems to come on line around midnight so get in there fast!!!! Wouldn't recommend getting a meal there in the evening.
very helpful staff/family , lovely colourful place to stay.
The location is okay.
We spent two nights there. - they were bedbugs in my bed! - one of my friends who made a seperate reservation was put in a different riad - no wi-fi the 2nd night - they asked us to pay upfront for two nights (no wonder considering bedbugs).
good value clean helpfull
hotel sign outside read riad restaurant and did not say riad slima iwould never found place if had not pre booked taxi from riad
The staff is helpful. Price is reasonable. A good choice if the hotel will be used only for sleeping at night.
No slippers inside the room and soap is hardly provided upon request. Location is not so bad but not close to the main attractions. Breakfast is poor.
