It felt like home! It was elegant and felt very genuine..our suite was very spacious and comfortable., we were well looked after.. It was very peaceful.,, was a real find!
We like everything about the place, location, quite atmosphere, room, stuff, breakfast! We enjoyed a lot
The owner is very nice and helpful guy! The Riad was very neat and clean. It's located 5 minutes walk from Jemaa el Fna.
Room was big as was the bathroom; stand alone bath, open shower. The room was air conditioned. The breakfast was perfect, coffee, pastries, boiled egg. Staff were very helpful. Nowhere is easy to find in the Medina, however if you've GPS you can find anything. Download Galileo and you will have no prob getting around. We walked to the Riad from the train station. About a 20min walk and choose to walk to the train station Amagain when we were leaving. We will be back!!
a nice oasis on the center of Marrakech..we enjoy sitting on the overlooking verandaat the top of the riad.the staff were kind..anì abundant breakfast in the morning and they clean the room everyday.
it's difficult to find because the riad cannot be reach by car or taxi,,you must have to pass in the small alley.but Zakaria were kind that he take us accompanied us from the main street.
Location, personal service.
Beautiful Riad. Excellent value. Perfect location to walk to any area in Marrakech and also drop off point outside the wall. Anything you need, staff will assist, even got us take out when we showed up late. Climate control. wifi worked fine.
Wasn't given a key. Not enough light in bathroom.
Zechariah was incredibly helpful with all arrangements top marks for reliability, resourcefulness, flexibility and a genuinely friendly host. The roof terrace was clean and sunny ideal for the breakfast feast with views that included snow covered mountains in the distance. A guided walk down alleys leads you to this gem. We loved it for our 3 nights adventure! This is a genuine riad kept very clean and a treasure of a find in a great location. The Ramsay family
We rented the suite at Riad Tahar for four days in January. The room was as beautiful as imagined with stunning decorations and details. The riad provided real duvets, which was really nice (seeing that January is not that hot in Marrakech). Even though not all of the staff could speak English, they were very friendly.
Unfortunately, the room was fairly cold as the air conditioner only heated up one section of the room (the hot air didn't reach the other ends of the room). And the fireplace in the room was used as a book shelf. Having breakfast was a cold affair as well, as there was no heating downstairs whatsoever. The room itself was dimly lit which was cosy in the beginning but after a while it felt a bit like living in a cave. The (really beautiful) bath tub turned out to be leaking, though only a bit. And the wifi connection didn't extend to the roof terrace.
Riad Tahar is a hidden gem at the heart of Marrakech. I loved the traditional architecture and its peaceful environment. The hospitality of the people who run it and the lovely terrace in the morning with fresh mint tea and local delicacies is a plus. Highly recommended
Very nice location, friendly and helpful staff, cozy room (wifi) and marvellous terrace.
Room was quite cold (January).
Location, experience, size of the rooms, friendly staff, breakfasts, terrace, surroundings. Greatly recommend.
Language barrier but Manager was always contactable. Smoking by guests and staff.
We got an excellent map from the owner by email with clear instructions on how to find the riad, as it can be quite tricky to locate the streets in medina. When we arrived, we were offered tea and cake, and the owner sat down with us to give us information on Marrakech and to answer any questions we had. He was very friendly and helpful, and went out of his way to help us! The riad was very clean and comfortable, and our room was luxurious. We had to check out really early, so we couldn't have breakfast at the riad, but instead we were given food to take with us. Overall, this riad was excellent!!
We were woken up early by the sounds of prayer from a nearby mosque, but this is of course not the riad's fault. Nothing negative to say about the riad!!
The hospitality and friendliness of the staff was outstanding. Zacherias is a wonderful host and was always willing to help us. The roofterrace and the breakfast are amazing.
Fantastic stay at Riad Tahar. Great location, helpful staff, and beautiful building.
Outstanding personal service from Zac & the team. A perfect place to explore Marrakech from & then return for a quiet nights rest.
With so many Riads to choose from our end choice was based on other reviews. We chose to be met at the airport as arranged by Zak the manager of the Riad, this cost 15€ and we would advise others to do the same as the Tahar Oasis would be very difficult to find. On arriving close to the hotel we were taken on foot to the Riad through a few streets and into what can only be described as an alleyway. Initially we were concerned as the alleyway was dark and our natural instincts were one of danger because it didn't look as if the Riad could possibly be in that area....however all was well and quickly realised during our stay that these 'alleyways' are natural landscape for Marrakech especially if you choose to stay in the Medina. On entering the Riad we were met by Hannan, a young woman who spoke French. She made us local mint tea and before long Zak arrived and spent a good half hour going through important information, providing us with a small map with reference points enabling us to come and go to the Riad. He provided his personal mobile number with the caveat we could ring him at any time with questions or queries if needed. The Riad was delightful, incredibly clean and authenticly Moroccan. We used the roof top terrace every day and had breakfast up there one morning. We stayed 5 nights in the junior suite - Zitouni which I describe as more than adequate, only down side being the lighting, very dark for getting ready in the morning/evenings. Shower facilities were great with plenty of hot water and clean towels each day. Breakfast consisted of coffee or local tea, bread, yoghurts, croissants and pastries with jam, honey and spreading cheese. There were boiled eggs/pancakes alternate mornings. It made for a good start to our day. The location of the Riad was perfect for the medina, the short walk back through the alleyway and you were at the shops/stalls which led to the main square. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff.
Zacaria and his team are really nice people, who make you feel comfortable at the first moment. The riad is lovely decorated, everything was clean and it smelled really good, breakfast is great and the service amazing. Drink the mint tee, really tasty!
The staff were incredibly helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
The lighting in the rooms was very poor
Location Atmosphere People Small
The staff at the hotel were fantastic as was the decor, comfort and the best breakfast I had while in Morocco. I like the riad set up as it is very authentic and the roof terrace at the Tahar was really lovely. Location too, right on the edge of the shopping district was just right, but being off the main streets very quite and relaxing too. It is hard to find alone, but the manager is happy to meet you if you need and assist with directions and luggage.
We had a fantastic stay at this Riad. Zach and his brother were welcoming and hospitable. We were welcomed by a delicious breakfast after an early morning flight. They spent time explaining how to navigate the town and what to expect in Marrakech. The room was exquisite and the peace and quiet of the riad was a welcome respite from the busyness of the Medina. We very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to others
quiet refuge, charming and helpful staff, room spacious, very clean and comfortable with good shower, roof terrace excellent at sunset.
