I feel as if the owner overcharges for certain services. We took him up on an offer of a driver walking to our riad to pick us up to escort us to his car, driving us to dinner, driving us back, and then walking us to the riad since it is easy to get lost and the alleys feel a bit unsafe after dark. We paid way more than we should have for it, and after waiting for over 30 minutes after having the restaurant call our driver to come pick us up, we finally left because we assumed he was no longer coming. When we told the owner the next day and gave him the money to give to the driver for the one way trip, he responded 'oh no problem!' with a big smile, when in reality it was a huge problem for us and a good business man wouldn't have had us pay for bad service. We had agreed to have him call a cab for us to pick us up the next morning since our train was so early. Again, he charged way more than a cab should have been, the driver didn't even come to the door to take our bags, and he was late.
The raid also booked us a 'great' tour guide to show us around for a half day so we could spend less time getting lost and more time seeing things. The guide was okay but not worth it, and was more concerned with taking us to places to shop, and telling us 'we don't understand' when we politely refused his offer of going to a pottery shop.
Decent location, adorable room and bathroom, cute common space, plenty of hot water, the two women who worked there were very friendly with the younger woman being extremely helpful and sweet, the owner offered to give us breakfast at 6:00AM so we could have something to eat before our early morning train
