Honestly, this hotel was fabulous. A friend recommended it, and it was perfect- great value for money, right in the heart of the medina but so so peaceful and quiet. The staff are absolutely lovely- so helpful and the food is delicious so highly recommend dinner. The breakfast also is very good and really keeps you going for the day! We hope to be back again before too long....

The interior. The quietness. The restaurants Barbara told us about and we enjoyed. The other people of the staff! Everything. Really, it is as beautiful as it looks on the website.

the breakfasts were excellent, as were the attentive staff. the decorations were very simple but effective, good ambiance. owner couldn't do enough to help, including directions, helping to organise trips, extra shower gel, etc!

inadequate shower - it was a trickle at best and the hot water ran out quickly

Peaceful Central location Nothing was too much for the staff. They booked restaurants, showed us around the souks, organised day trips, as well as valuable tips on where and what to see.

Great hospitality of staff and owner taking time everyday to help plan day trips, provide advice about local customs and restaurants. After a adventurous day the Riad Tchaikana is the perfect place to relax in the orange tree yard and spacious rooms. This place is an oasis of peacefulness.

A lovely Riad tastefully furnished in the medina yet blissfully quiet and an escape from the hustle and bustle of the souk. As a solo female traveller what stood out for me was being personally looked after. Not only shown around the markets on my first evening, but bookings for a spa, restaurant and bus tickets for my onward journey were organised. I managed to get lost on my way back to the riad one evening (very easy in the maze of Marrakech streets) - and a kindly pharmacy owner called Riad Tchaikana who immediately sent a man to find me and escort me back - for which a small tip of 20 or so dirhams was requested (£2.50). Well worth it as I was rather tired and not happy to be wandering around in the dark on my own! I hope to return one day.

A beautiful riad in the heart of the Marrakesh medina. Exceptionally quite and very comfortable. The owner and her staff were lovely and helpful.

I would have preferred it to have been less difficult to find in the tiny streets.

Barbara is an excellent and attentive host, kind and available, and so is all her staff starting from lovely Bouchra. The riad is clean, neat, bright, overall just very pleasantly peaceful.

I was originally attracted to Riad Tchaikana from the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor and from the photos of the riad. I was not disappointed. The atmosphere at the riad is delightful. When I booked the riad, I received an email from Barbara, the French owner, within the hour welcoming me. She reminded me that the riad only accepts cash (and I had not read the policy) so I was glad that she reminded me. I emailed her many times with questions before we ever arrived and she quickly answered all my questions. I booked a pickup from the train station through the riad and I was glad that I did because the riad is difficult to find the first time. A driver was waiting for us and he dropped us close to the riad where we were met by another man who had a cart to pick up our luggage and walk us to the riad. Everything went smoothly for the arrival and departure. The riad itself is very tastefully decorated in a minimalist style with a heavy Moorish influence. Every room is stunning (I looked at all of them when they were unoccupied). Barbara came to meet us and ask us what we needed and what we wanted to see while we were in Marrakech. She was absolutely delightful and since one of the purposes of my trip was to shop, she spent the morning shopping with us taking us to all her favorite shops and helping us negotiate prices. This was exceptionally kind of her since it took the entire morning. She also showed us how to get in and out of the souk, the best restaurants to try, and many, many, other tips. Barbara suggested trying a ‘hammam’ and it was a very interesting experience. I highly recommend it. The entire staff were quite kind. Bouchra, the unofficial manager, is very attentive. She always checked to see what we needed and even offered her laptop for our use. My favorite things about the riad were, the peaceful atmosphere, the trees full of singing birds, the rooftop breakfast, the style of decoration, and the scrubs and soaps in the bathrooms!
