Riad Villa WengeN4 Derb Messfioui Rahab Medina, 40000 Marrakech (Show map) Very good, Score from 133 reviews“See our previous review just below. This was our second time staying at Riad Villa Wenge. Different room but just as good. We stayed at Villa Wenge for a few days before heading to Essaouira. During that first stay we had no hesitation in booking Villa Wenge for a second time, for our return to Marrakech, before we flew out of Morocco.”

This place is a hidden gem! A tranquil environment away from the hustle and bustle of the square, we looked forward to returning there every night. We stayed four nights and enjoyed all of them! The breakfast was great (and included in the price). The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Do book the airport shuttle offered by Riad as the location would be difficult to find without personal assistance upon arrival. Highly recommended and might stay again if we return to this area. We had some trouble with the shower not working our last night and toilet in our suite ran non-stop (we stayed in The Wave Suite). The phone rings off the hook but can be ignored after a day or two. The credit card machine was not working correctly and they requested we pay cash (which was impossible since our daily limit was only 2,000 dirham a day). Request was made the day prior to checkout, luckily we tried the machine and it ended up working.

Ideally located, very central just a couple of minutes walk to the main square. Polite, friendly staff. Rooms are comfortable & with fresh modern decor. The roof terrace with jacuzzi is ideal for relaxing after the hustle & bustle of the souks.

This was in the middle of the souk area of marrakech, just 5 min stroll to the main square where all the food markets at night appear. They had air conditioning but the rooms stay quite cool anyway in the evening despite temperatures soaring when I was there. The room as exactly as the pictures advertised and design was very modern yet very moroccan. The staff are brilliant. It is difficult to find, but I found it, however I should have rang the staff from Cafe de France in the square and they would have fetched me no problem. My only regret is not having a swimming costume as they have jacuzzi on the terrace that was lovely but I just dangled my feet instead. Highly recommended! I couldn't buy a swimming costume for love or money in the souks, so didn't use their lovely jacuzzi. But not the riads fault.

Fantastic staff, very friendly and helpful! It was nice to stay somewhere that was modern and new, but still a Riad layout in the old medina. Other places we stayed at in Morocco were old Riads, so we had some reservations about staying somewhere quite modern. Our reservations were unfounded, it was great to come back to a calm oasis where you felt welcome and at peace. Great location in the medina, easy to find, a few streets from the main square. Nice terrace area on the roof with plenty of comfortable seating and shade. Breakfast was good and probably the best we had in Morocco. Top notch for the price, location, quality and staff. Slight smell from drains, but you will find this everywhere in Morocco. Not a problem for us at all.

Very nice and stylish hotel, harmonically combining modern and traditional decorative elements.Breakfast is good. Staff is very friendly. Location is very good, in a heart of old medina, very close to famous Jemaa El-Fna square, but without scheme you will not find this hotel for the first time . We stayed in a room on ground floor and unfortunately had unpleasant smell (like canalisation) from wash basin. Seems small repair is needed.

Friendly staff, great location in the middle of the medina, great interior design, good breakfast. The staff speaks very little english (which is normal in Marrakech!) and the rooms are very good insulated. You could hear all noises from other rooms, which wasn't very pleasant. Again, I don't know if that's normal for Riad- style hotels, it was the first one we stayed in so far. No door that would separate the bathroom/toilet from the rest of the room.

(1) Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They have met every single request, I really mean all. Even for the service not available in the Riad, they helped to get it for us at a very reasonable price. (2) Location, in the middle of the medina but by being in the smaller road, it was quiet and peaceful. (1) The only challenge was for Marrakech first timer to find the Riad. Suggest you use hotel transfer service (15 Euro) or pay for the local to lead the way (3-4 Euro). (2) charge 4.5% for credit card payment

Location was excellent. If itz ur 1st visit, strongly advised to arrange hotel pickup as the Riad is hidden in one of the many small lanes which is diff to find for 1st-timers. Staff were friendly but only speak French. Rm is made up everyday so itz clean. Small Riad which means itz safe & quiet. Nice rm with gd air-con, wifi is strong & bed is comfortable. We stayed in Rouge rm & thr's no comforter/blanket, only cloth as blanket. U could take taxi to airport fr the sq which could bargain at DHs 50-60. So far, we r very satisfied with the stay. Thumbs up!!! The credit card machine is down & the Riad only accept Euro € or Moroccan DHs. Be prepared.

The service provided by the staff at Villa Wenge was 1st class. Nothing was too much bother at all, their attention was excellent. Adil was extremely helpful and thoughtful. Unfortunately during our trip we encountered a day of minor sickness, the staff were extremely helpful and genuinely concerned, this made a delicate situation in a foreign land very bearable and one less thing to worry about. The Riad itself was very well presented and decorated in a minimal and modern style and was very calm and relaxing in atmosphere and with the addition of the roof top sun lounging and jacuzzi area it was a perfect place to relax as a couple or just as a group of friends. (30Something couple) Due to the Mid June heat of Marrakesh the option of a Cool Plunge/swimming pool would have been wonderful but the Jacuzzi was an adequate substitute. More importantly, the possibility to have dinner in the riad instead of leaving to go to a restaurant would have been a great option to have too, as the hustle and bustle of the Main Square/Markets can be draining after a few days.(30something couple)

The Riad has a really cool design, a person feels comfortable there and the staff are also very nice. The Riad is also very clean (which is the main thing for me), and has a really good location. The rooms are small but it works just fine for a short stay. Unfortunately for us, our stay in Marrakech was the latter on our trip. When we were traveling throughout Morocco, one of us got really sick and we had to stay one extra night in Midelt, forcing us to cancel one night in Riad Villa Wenge.. We are aware of the policy of charging the night if the cancelation is made within the 7 days prior to the stay, but we were hoping for some undestanding on behalf of the staff on the Riad, because we didn't cancel the night because we felt like it, we did it because there was no other choice. So we had to pay for a night in which we didn't stay in.

The staff was great and the location was right in the heart of the medina 1) the airport transfer is not worth it, you can get a cab for 10 euros, also you will need to either roll your luggage from the center square or hire a cart man to carry your luggage to the Riad.

Funcionários super simpáticos e muito prestáveis, sobretudo Khadija, a responsável pelo Riad. A localização é optima.

“We loved our 3 night stay in Riad Diana. It has such a relaxed, homely feel and is expertly run by a young team led by Bourjamaa and Ahmed. The food was some of the best we had, thank you Sebraya. It is ideally located between Bahia Palace and the main square, Djemaa el-fna - they organised an excellent city guide, Abdul Belmoudden. The Riad was nice and warm in winter and peacefully quiet, especially from the 5am call to prayer. There even is a small plunge pool and hamman and pleasant roof terrace. It was a great start to our amazing 12 day holiday with Real Morocco Tours. Many thanks to all.” Lisa, Arles Sur Tech |
