My boyfriend and I stayed for 4 nights at Riad Viva and had a great time. The staff were very welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The Riad itself is in the traditional style with an open central courtyard going up to the roof. The roof has very nice dining facilities and even a small pool to cool off in after a hot day wondering the streets of Marrakech or just taking in the sun. The whole place is beautifully decorated. It as an excellent location, close to the Kings Palace, about 10 minutes walk from the cental square of Jmaa El Fna - very handy. All in all we cannot recommend Riad Viva enough. We felt very welcome and at home for our brief stay in Marrakech.
Just a quick warning - the Riad itself is down a number of small backstreets (most of the Medina is made up of them) that can't be accessed by car. We arrived very late and the taxi (organised by the Riad) handed us over to a couple of local boys who led us into the backstreets. When you have just arrived and its dark this can be a little unnerving but it is absolutely fine. The local boys will ask for a tip once you get to the Riad (20 dirmar is more than enough) and it turned out the Riad had sent someone out to meet us but the 2 locals had got to us first.
We stayed at the Riad Viva for 5 nights and really liked the staff, their hospitality and the facilities available. We especially liked the location of the Riad inside the old Medina which provided a realistic view of more traditional Moroccan living.
From my arrival I was warmly welcomed by Meriem , who offered me a Welcome mint tea. She then took time to explained me about all the different places to visit in Marrakech and pointed them on the map for me. The team in Riad Viva really show the real Arabic hospitality: welcoming, warm, friendly and always eager to help. I experienced the Argan oil massage at the Riad which was really pleasant and relaxing. The Riad itself is a real gem...and you are staying next door to royalty as it is just next door to the New Royal Palace!!! It is a typical Arabic house with a patio and some lying down seats around a table, lamps and nice ceramics and stucco. It is a very peaceful place. My room was very comfortable and clean...and you've guessed it right very nicely decorated! I would like to thanks Meriem, Youssef, Mohamed, Hamza, Hasna and Fathia at the Riad for their friendliness and kindness. You made my stay a real home away from home. ;-)
We stayed at Riad Viva for one night at the end of a weeks stay in Morocco. The riad arranged a private car to collect us from the train station, free of charge. The riad is located down a long alleyway and so cars can only take you so far. The raid, therefore, arranged for a luggage porter to meet us at the car and take us and our luggage to the door of the riad. Inside, the riad is very beautiful and exceptionally clean. We were welcomed with a Moroccan mint tea in the court-yard before being shown to our room. The service throughout our stay was exceptional. For those new to Marrakech - the riad provided us with a map with directions to the main square and other tourist hot spots. Again, this was very valuable in view of the winding streets of Marrakech. We would definitely stay again.
The Riad is truly beautiful, as are the rooms. You feel like staying at a little palace. We stayed at Riad Viva twice, prior and after our desert trip. Both stays were very good, but the rooms in the street level floor are more spacious (ours was Azalee, I think). The transfer from the airport to the Riad is included and worked well. The transfer out is Euro 20, which is basically double the street taxi price, but more reliable. They can book a guided tour in the Medina, and the English speaking woman they hired for us was very good. Location is good. It's a 15-20min walk to the Jemma El Fna square, and it's also within a walking distance from part of Hivernage. There are many Riads which are closer to the square, but Viva worked for us. Importantly, it's very easy to find, after you are taken to the Riad by the transfer-in, it`s very easy to locate it, even at night.
Breakfast is good but could be more varied. They should include more cheese and some kind of breakfast meat. It is too much of sweet stuff every day.
The quality and variety at breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and decorated in traditional Morrocan designs from the lights to the brass sink. I wouldn't hesitate in staying here again.
The Riad access is via the narrow alleys in the old quarter, which could be a little intimidating. Although we never had any problems, it will not be to everyone's liking.
This riad is absolutely lovely. The whole riad is perfectly clean and the stuff is great. You will defenitely not expect how beautiful it is when you see it from the outside... Its unbelieveble! If you decide to stay in the riad one evening, the roof is beautifull, pool, wine, shisha, music, ... And at this point we would like to giva a big plus to pelegro hamza with his spanish/brazilian/arabic/international sangre ;) The taxi service an drivers are cool! We'll come back as soon as we can!!! Luca & Katarina
Hospitality of the staff, beauty of the place, great pool to plunge into during those hot days...
Situated in the center near Djemaa El Fna Place, good & safe area, shopping & sightseeing around the corner Very friendly and attentive staff! Nice room & bathroom, idyllic roof top with small pool Travelling alone I felt very comfortable at Riad Viva and would choose this hotel again on my next trip!
Everything! The friendliness of the staff; The beautiful room; The fantastic food; All Truly Memorable!
The staff were very good.
The breakfast was good but with limited choices.
Great customer service Clean, comfortable room Relaxing roof terrace with plunge pool 10 minute walk to medina Cookery course
I spent two days of pleasures in this amazing structure. This riad gives you peace and the best service to regenerate yourself. High qualified staff ready to help your staying in the colored city of Marrakech. The best you can find! I had no dinner but the breakfast on the terrace was so good! BELLISSIMO!
Service Friendly staff Peaceful retreat from bustle of Medina
Nice room. Very good breakfast. Staff helped us organize our car hire.
Near the big square, swimming pool in roof top, staff are very nice, prices good for european visitors, clean and tidy
They dont' accept credit card, some towels and blanket aren't 100% white
The fact that it was typical of morrocco. Lovely rooms with everything you needed. The staff could not have been better and they just added to the whole experiance.
My only negative would be that adding a small step to the plunge pool would be such a help to get in and out. Its great for athletic younsters but sadly I do not come under that catagory. It was great to have it though.
We loved the seclusion and quiet surroundings away from the main square of Marrakech, we had three nights and the Riad had great décor very exotic, and breakfast was great, served on the open air terrace overlooking the city rooftops, a pool and sunning area and weather touring around you could come back and relax with a minted tea on the lounge by the pool, superb, great staff cheers Grant Rob and Sam
Had an excellent stay in an excellent Riad! They staff were extremely helpful and the Riad was beautiful, however slightly difficult to find, and we had a lot of hassle from the Moroccan men on the way to the villa. The breakfast was nice but very basic compared to other Riads we had stayed in in Morocco. Overall our stay in Riad viva was brilliant and would highly recommend it.

Hamsah was so lovely and helpful and even though my stay was short I enjoyed relaxing in the luxurious environment.
Staff were excellent, couldn't be more helpful. Quiet location, but only 15 minutes to the main square/souks. Big beds - great shower. Breakfast OK, but don't expect anything cooked/hot.
Room was hot at night, despite good air-con. A small fridge in the room to keep drinks cold would be really good.
The location is perfect, just far enough away from the square to be peaceful, yet close enough to go in for dinner or a snack without a second thought. The riad is beautiful, the most perfect we've seen. Hamza, Mohamad and Meriem were the best staff catering to every need without hesitation!
I have stayed in hotels all around the world. This has got to be one of the most accommodating and genuine. It is very refreshing to come across staff who have the customers interest at heart. If you stay here you will not be disappointed.
