Score from 63 reviews Excellent
Situated in the Medina, close to the Jemàa-El-Fna Square, Riad Chalymar is a Moroccan house with a modern design with a view of the Atlas Mountains from the terrace.
Score from 220 reviews Wonderful
Absolutely beautiful riad. Wonderful friendly staff. Free taxi to airport which we were offered as we didn't have one on arrival as we were already in Marrakech. Good wifi connection. Good breakfast. Good location with a short walk to the old town. We loved it here and would definitely recommend it to anyone. Thank you. Jane and Peter
Dinner in-house was kind of standard and it did not look like the kitchen made an extra-effort Due to the aim of creating a romantic room, there was not one (of many) room-lights strong enough to read.
The Riad fully achieves this purpose of giving you a peaceful rest from the City.
All Great. Loved it..
Hard to find Riad but close to main square. Very friendly personal and great terrace! Super expirience!
Nothing! We were two girls in our 20s and at times it got a little intimidating walking around and coming back at night but we did feel safe and got used to walking through the narrow streets
The staff were excellent - very friendly and catered to all your needs The roof top is beautiful for breakfast and relaxing. Personally preferred the location away from the main square so you could get away from the madness! The interior design is lovely. The private taxi service is great - a little more than taxis outside but very reliable and safe The authenticity of the riad and living in the traditional Moroccan medina Amal did a lovely massage
clean and quiet
Beautiful Riad great location Mariam and Rhal very helpful and welcoming. Recommended pre arranged taxi as difficult to find first time. 10-15 mins from main square.
It was nice to get back to the peace and quiet of the Riad. The staff were helpful and in particular Hamza was the star of the Riad. He was very helpful and always cheerful. Very comfortable accommodation. Delicious breakfast.
Nothing, we would highly commend this riad to our friends and I've already specified to my partner that when in Marrakesh; this will be our adoptive home!
We loved this magical riad with rooftop terrace and pool with a view. The Riad was close to the palace full of guards, which added to a sense of security and although we had to walk little into the narrow streets, they were local families and I felt safe walking with my partner in the evenings. The staff above all were fantastic, with reliable taxi transfers, (although 10mins walking distance to the souks and the market), and they even gifted me with the lotion I loved that they used. I would give the service 12/10 which made our holiday smooth and special.
Fantastic helpful staff, gorgeous rooms and great pool area highly recommended
Friendly helpful staff. Beautifully decorated riad with well appointed bedrooms. Enjoyed the Hamman and massage by Amal.
Excellent location, friendly and welcoming staff, spotless property
When we arrived late at night, we were picked up by a very comfortable van and taken to the center of Marrakesh. We were a little surprised that we had to walk from the drop off point through a residential area. It seemed a little scary. However, once we entered the riad, we were whisked away into a beautiful Moroccan dream. The staff was supremely accommodating and welcoming. Hamza and Maria were very gracious hosts and helped us with various tours and other arrangements. We had the hammam and massage experience in the riad and must say that Amal was very skilled and my girlfriend and I had a very pleasant time. The prices are very reasonable. Finally, the riad backs into the famous Mamunia hotel, the most expensive In Marrakech. You can see the beautiful gardens from the terrace. If you take the picture, you can tell everybody that you stayed there and nobody will tell the difference :-). Thank you very much for great memories.
Terrace! Pool, Sun loungers, Seats & Tables in and out of shade. Really worthwhile to make the most of the marrakech skies while not out in the city and medina. Staff professional, attentive, welcoming and a really nice interior. Free wifi, worked fine in rooms and other areas.
Rooftop teatime, central courtyard fountain and birds, Our private candlelit dinner with soothing music and gas fire. Lovely bedroom and bathroom. Helpful staff.
Absolutely NO BAD EXPERIENCE!
The Riad was very comfortable and the staff attended all our needs.
Really struggling to think of something negative to say about Riad Viva.
Staff were exceptionally welcoming, friendly and helpful. Food & wine was superb!
Only reason I haven't put top marks for value for money was the extras in the Riad (food and drink) were a little over priced. A 20 euro transfer when leaving (considering a taxi would have been around 40 dirham - £3) was a little expensive. I'm splitting hairs saying these things tho.
Like Marrakech, a city of contrasts, stepping in off the street into the Riad was like stepping through some magical door leading into a calm serene Oasis. Do go for the Hammam and Massage, it's a pleasure and pain thing, skin removed first be a wire glove, then, Aman the masseuse (hopfully spelt correctly) sooths all those aches and pains away (I would drop the love music for some chilled out music tho - Cafe Del Mar 1 would suffice) Roof terrace was a welcome corner for much needed quiet and was scooter free!
I am unable to find any fault with Riad Viva apart from a limited selection of beers and no red wine to order.
The Riad has been very tastefully decorated in a traditional style. Staff are very helpful and the transfer from the train station and to the airport was very efficiently arranged. The roof terrace is very relaxing, as it overlooks the five star Mamounia Hotel's landscaped gardens. Ask for your breakfast to be taken on the roof and enjoy the sounds and visits from the birds......
we came at night by ourselves, and it was long alley with many man outside and that really scares us..but we found out later they were actually harmless, we shd have called the hotel and they would fetch us from outside. everything is safe you can come back at night with no problem. and now its the best place ever for us. would definitely reccommend it
theres massage with good price, but not tried it cus found out too late. nice riad compared to others, very cheery, bright, with modern amenities, clean, hot water and pressure very good.
The design of the place creates lots of echo. You could not even talk in your room without somebody banging on your door. If we wanted to listen to music we went to the roof. That did not help either as due to the bad design, the rest of the guest could hear our conversation and the music we were playing. Our stay felt like being on a dorm that when light-out you had to go to be with the rest of the guest. This is not a good place if you want to have a little fun. This place is the perfect spot for geriatrics that want to have some peace and quiet. This lovely hotel needs major sound proofing. If you want to have some fun this is not the place to go.
The staff is amazing! The hotel has a lovely design. Very, very hommy.
Beautifully maintained property. A lovely little Riad. The staff was exceptionally helpful and went out of the way to make my stay an unforgettable experience. Breakfast was always a delight with fresh bread pancakes Coffee Mint Tea! Loved the fresh homemade cake & Mint tea in the afternoon. Highly recommended. Will surely stay here again on my next trip to Marrakesh. Many thanks to Meriem and Reyal for looking after me so well.
Wifi was sometimes poor but when free could hardly complain. Our shower in Orchidee room could have been stronger but was adequate.
The whole raid was beautiful. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. So quiet.
Nothing at all
Great location, near the king's palace hence safe and clean area of the Medina short walk to anywhere in town. Staff very helpful and very attentive. I missed my flight and arrived 10 hours later than initially arranged. The hotel sent a driver for me to pick me up for no extra charge. Dinner is superb. Breakfast is good quality, fresh local products. The hotel booked us a trip to the atlas mountain, which was a very well organised trip and we were picked up by the driver from the hotel. The riad is charming, very clean with a beautiful terrace on the top floor with a pool and great views. First time in Morocco and we were very happy with our choice! Thanks for the staff for making us feel welcome and feeling home!
I spent 3 nights in Riad Viva at the start of January. The rooms are spotless, the staff incredibly helpful and friendly and the location is excellent - only a few minutes walk from the main square. I couldn't fault it!
