The Staff were beyond lovely. Hotel was beautiful. Very close to the square. Couldn't have asked for more.
Verry nice staff, excelent location, it's located close to Central market and all touristic attractions. Room is nice and clean, bed huge. They have traditional marrocan hammam and spa and must be tried at least one, it's an unforgetable experience. I recommend this riad if in Marrakech.
Because rooms have windows inside of riad, you can hear all noises inside which can be annoying when you want to sleep.
Everything we expected. Beautiful Moroccan decoration, staff all fabulous. Breakfasts simple but adequate. Felt safe and very at home.
Even though alcohol is not widely found here, it is advertised on the riad extras. Unfortunately they never had much to offer.
It's a very nice and small hotel, cleaned and all the staff is so nice and kind, ready to satisfy all your needs and always helpful. The client is well-cared. They are always smiling and try to make you feeling confortable. Good breakfast, very nice rooms. Excellent!
Very comfortable and lovely room. Beautifully stylled
Rough landing as communication regarding pick-up at airport did not occur. If you are coming late at night make sure you get walked to the door.
Riad viva was very quiet. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. It was a real oasis of calm in a busy place. Although tucked away down an alleyway, not accessible by car we felt extremely safe walking there day or night. Some children soon showed us the way when we first arrived
The walk into town was a good 10 minutes and the roads are pretty busy to cross. This was not a problem for us but may befor some people . The riad staff are happy to arrange taxis .
We stayed here for two nights. Really friendly & warm-hearted staff. Also chic design. The room is big and makes excellent use of the space, with a very inviting king sized bed. I would recommended it to anyone.
The building is beatiful, and the service very good. Very nice rooftop terasse to relax in the sun. The area is interesting, very run down, but people where friendly, and there are lots of small shops for groceries in the main street. I had a nice massage by Amal in the riad for a very reasonable price.
The dinner was below the usual standard, can be done much better for this price (ice cold morroccan salads, very dry meat, very simple dessert). I didn't sleep well, because I couldn't get used to the loud noise from the aricondition box outside my room of the building. It wasnt even my own aircondition (tried experimenting turning it off).
The Riad Viva is really lovely, a calm traditional oasis in the Medina. Mint tea was always on offer and the staff couldn't be more welcoming or kind. Meriem is both professional and approachable and has a wealth of maps and information to give to you. The food was excellent and beautifully prepared. It really is a lovely place, once you are inside and very safe for a lone traveller.
The only difficulty is making sure you can find your way in the Medina alleyways, but again, Riad Viva even sent a member of staff with me when I needed to find a cash point!
incredibly beautiful, luxury feel, quiet, friendly staff and all the things you hope for out of an upper middle priced selection. It felt like a palace and had beautiful details in the molding, the stone work, the bathroom... Everything was just incredibly pretty.
the only thing I didn't love was the location. It's about a 10 minute walk from the main square in Marrakech, which is totally manageable, but it is down a long and out of the way abandoned feeling street. I never felt unsafe in any way, but it was a little foreboding feeling. That being said, it is a nice change of pace from the craziness of the main square. Wifi was very inconsistent and weak in the bedroom, but was strong when closer to the router in the central area.
The riad is beautiful. The staff were really kind and welcoming and were on hand 24 hrs a day. It is situated adjacent to the royal palace so it's quite safe. The outdoor activities were fun and very reasonable. Overall -it was great!
A little tricky to find.
The food, the decor, the beautiful courtyard, the rooftop terrace where we could have food and drinks. The staff were so friendly, they chatted to us and helped us and even gave us medicine and special tea when I was feeling ill. They did everything they could to make us feel welcome and at home, and they were very relaxed about everything. We also had a hammam at the Riad, and a massage which were really good and very relaxing. If we come back to Marrakech we will definitely stay here again.
Beautifully decorated Riad. Exceptionally clean and well situated. Staff helpful and well mannered. Couldn't fault anything. Great breakfast on the upper floor Near the pool. We will return next year.
From start to finish, the staff at this beautiful tranquil riad could not have done more to ensure we had a wonderful time: helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Our room was lovely, with a traditional morrocan feel but all the mod cons. Breakfast on the terrace was simple but satisfying, and our specially prepared dinner delicious. Marrakech is a warren of tiny winding lanes, and Riad Viva is tucked down one of these, but once you get your bearings, it is well located for the main sites. Well worth seeking out.
Loved the roof terrace with its small plunge pool.
Some rooms have no external windows- only one "window" onto the internal hall area. These rooms are cheaper, but not ideal.
My boyfriend and I stayed for 4 nights at Riad Viva and had a great time. The staff were very welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The Riad itself is in the traditional style with an open central courtyard going up to the roof. The roof has very nice dining facilities and even a small pool to cool off in after a hot day wondering the streets of Marrakech or just taking in the sun. The whole place is beautifully decorated. It as an excellent location, close to the Kings Palace, about 10 minutes walk from the cental square of Jmaa El Fna - very handy. All in all we cannot recommend Riad Viva enough. We felt very welcome and at home for our brief stay in Marrakech.
Just a quick warning - the Riad itself is down a number of small backstreets (most of the Medina is made up of them) that can't be accessed by car. We arrived very late and the taxi (organised by the Riad) handed us over to a couple of local boys who led us into the backstreets. When you have just arrived and its dark this can be a little unnerving but it is absolutely fine. The local boys will ask for a tip once you get to the Riad (20 dirmar is more than enough) and it turned out the Riad had sent someone out to meet us but the 2 locals had got to us first.
We stayed at the Riad Viva for 5 nights and really liked the staff, their hospitality and the facilities available. We especially liked the location of the Riad inside the old Medina which provided a realistic view of more traditional Moroccan living.
From my arrival I was warmly welcomed by Meriem , who offered me a Welcome mint tea. She then took time to explained me about all the different places to visit in Marrakech and pointed them on the map for me. The team in Riad Viva really show the real Arabic hospitality: welcoming, warm, friendly and always eager to help. I experienced the Argan oil massage at the Riad which was really pleasant and relaxing. The Riad itself is a real gem...and you are staying next door to royalty as it is just next door to the New Royal Palace!!! It is a typical Arabic house with a patio and some lying down seats around a table, lamps and nice ceramics and stucco. It is a very peaceful place. My room was very comfortable and clean...and you've guessed it right very nicely decorated! I would like to thanks Meriem, Youssef, Mohamed, Hamza, Hasna and Fathia at the Riad for their friendliness and kindness. You made my stay a real home away from home. ;-)
We stayed at Riad Viva for one night at the end of a weeks stay in Morocco. The riad arranged a private car to collect us from the train station, free of charge. The riad is located down a long alleyway and so cars can only take you so far. The raid, therefore, arranged for a luggage porter to meet us at the car and take us and our luggage to the door of the riad. Inside, the riad is very beautiful and exceptionally clean. We were welcomed with a Moroccan mint tea in the court-yard before being shown to our room. The service throughout our stay was exceptional. For those new to Marrakech - the riad provided us with a map with directions to the main square and other tourist hot spots. Again, this was very valuable in view of the winding streets of Marrakech. We would definitely stay again.
The Riad is truly beautiful, as are the rooms. You feel like staying at a little palace. We stayed at Riad Viva twice, prior and after our desert trip. Both stays were very good, but the rooms in the street level floor are more spacious (ours was Azalee, I think). The transfer from the airport to the Riad is included and worked well. The transfer out is Euro 20, which is basically double the street taxi price, but more reliable. They can book a guided tour in the Medina, and the English speaking woman they hired for us was very good. Location is good. It's a 15-20min walk to the Jemma El Fna square, and it's also within a walking distance from part of Hivernage. There are many Riads which are closer to the square, but Viva worked for us. Importantly, it's very easy to find, after you are taken to the Riad by the transfer-in, it`s very easy to locate it, even at night.
Breakfast is good but could be more varied. They should include more cheese and some kind of breakfast meat. It is too much of sweet stuff every day.
The quality and variety at breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and decorated in traditional Morrocan designs from the lights to the brass sink. I wouldn't hesitate in staying here again.
The Riad access is via the narrow alleys in the old quarter, which could be a little intimidating. Although we never had any problems, it will not be to everyone's liking.
This riad is absolutely lovely. The whole riad is perfectly clean and the stuff is great. You will defenitely not expect how beautiful it is when you see it from the outside... Its unbelieveble! If you decide to stay in the riad one evening, the roof is beautifull, pool, wine, shisha, music, ... And at this point we would like to giva a big plus to pelegro hamza with his spanish/brazilian/arabic/international sangre ;) The taxi service an drivers are cool! We'll come back as soon as we can!!! Luca & Katarina
Hospitality of the staff, beauty of the place, great pool to plunge into during those hot days...
Situated in the center near Djemaa El Fna Place, good & safe area, shopping & sightseeing around the corner Very friendly and attentive staff! Nice room & bathroom, idyllic roof top with small pool Travelling alone I felt very comfortable at Riad Viva and would choose this hotel again on my next trip!
Everything! The friendliness of the staff; The beautiful room; The fantastic food; All Truly Memorable!
