The looks of the hotel is cute, bright and authentic but not worth the stress.
The owner was overly micromanaging. Guests are not allowed to talk to the staff and we had to get a hold of him (not easy) for anything and everything. He would give a casual answer that would not help! When I asked for a tour map and site locations he hand scratched something ridiculous on a white paper pointing tens of ATM machines!!! cause he won't take credit cards :)))) You will feel like him and his strange minion always watching you. No privacy, so uncomfortable. He told us that we have to be very quiet... but his toddler screams and cry all day long starting early in the morning. He will badmouth night venues in the city and suggests you to stay in the hotel and enjoy some rose! It is not complimentary as he makes it sound like :))) Don't listen to him, go out and enjoy your night out. I would have more fun and even more privacy if I stayed in a hostel like my other friends did. Oh! one more issue, the water pipes need to be updated, the shower water is extremely weak.
Owner very friendly and gave great brief if what to visit. Brilliant rooftop area for breakfast and lounging. Nice roof plus patio Pool a bit small
Traditional decor throughout the hotel was perfect and shared roof terrace as well.
Bathtube located in the middle of the bedroom is not a good idea.
Going to Marrakesh is not for the faint of heart. Its fast-paced, busy, and overwhelming at times. Coming back to Riad Zanzibar was finding an oasis in the desert. When you walk through the doors you are immediately relaxed and at-home. The owner is friendly and very helpful. Right when you get in, you get mint tea and incredibly helpful information getting around the city. The rest of the staff is also very friendly and helpful. I can't recommend this place enough.
location, guest, breakfast, wifi, cleaning, bed, bathroom, furniture, everything was perfect, thank you pascal
Interior design was nice, and staff was friendly. The location is good, close to the Djamaa El Fna. Neighborhood is also ok (despite some commentaries I read).
When we arrived we waited for 10 minutes before a closed door (the concierge had fallen asleep). The breakfast was standard Moroccan except for the bad coffee and we were served tap water by the waitress. No dining facilities. Swimming pool looked dirty. On departure payment by card not possible, only cash. The owner is French -but not present when we were there, only local staff.
Location was excellent, the place was very clean and the staff were so friendly, I would fully recommend staying here. If you want a clean and friendly place to stay near the square, then this is the place, fully recommend.
All positive, no negatives.
The location was very good and the riad was mostly clean and comfortable. Hussein with whom we dealt mostly was extremely useful and always tried to help. If only he was in charge!
The owners were not what we had expected after reading other reviews. The female owner was not particularly polite and welcoming, but at least she was accommodating, and was kind to organise my trip back to the airport at no cost as agreed. The next day, the male owner who had been away until then was plain rude to my two female friends. Even though it had been agreed the day before their departure that the transport to the airport would be free (as advertised on the website), he bullied them into paying for their own taxi. It was the first contact they had with him and needless to say it left them with a rather bitter taste. There are many nice riads in town and I would not recommend this one because of its pretentious owners. A real shame as our few days in Marrakesh were excellent otherwise.
I really loved the style of the Riad, very cool - it even had an open firepalce beside the reception which gave it a great ambience. The breakfast was lovely and changed each day - I really enjoyed the same changes, as we had eaten pretty much the same breakfast everywhere we had been.
We had travelld over 18 hours to get to the Riad and we were exhausted. They have a real coffee machine and a juicer for breakfast (which is lovely don't get me wrong) but the shape of the lobby allows the noise of these two appliances to travel upwards. We had wanted a lie-in but didn't get it on either day, as the noise was loud. The rest of the day/evening, the Riad was totally quiet. Not much you can do about it , but I felt it affected my sleep/stay.
It was a wonderful time that we spent in the Riad Zanzibar. Everything was great, I highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice, quiet, clean place with a 100% Moroccan atmosphere. I was very sad that I have to leave this place.
a very nice riad, good location, fantastic breakfast.the staff were very helpfull, and plesant,as was the owner Pascal,he gave us lots of advice and tips on safety and prices.would recommend this riad.
there was no where in the riad to get cold drinks, could have done with aircon in bedroom, otherwise everything was very good.
Beautifully decorated, nice room, great breakfast at roof terrace and nice little pool. Friendly staff. No noise from the street and yet centrally located. Tip: you can park your car in a guarded parking area and one of the car park guys will bring you to the entrance of the riad (which is just a door in a wall in an alley).
The bed is pretty hard, but this is rather typical for Morocco, we found.
It's beautiful and tranquil. The plunge pool is a nice touch, and our teenage kids used this plenty. The rooftop terrace is superb. Staff were more than helpful, and so friendly Location perfect. Can't recommend enough
This riad is perfectly located for exploring Marrakech. Pascal the owner is very happy to help and guide you on how to get the best from your trip.
This is a lovely Riad, not too far from the main square. It has a delightful terrace and a small pool under its open roof. The room was great and the bathroom luxurious. We would definitely stay here again. Staff were really helpful too
It is a little dark on the ground floor, but that is the nature of Riads. They only have light coming in from the square hole at the top.
we loved everything about this charming, cosy riad.
We liked everything: the riad itself, the staff and the owners Asma and Pascal who knows exactly how to make your stay an awesome experience. Merci beaucoup
Friendly service, beautiful riad with big rooms. We felt very welcome and were given precious tips on how to survive marrakech as a group of girls. We had a great time and we would defenitly go back to riad zanzibar !
Don't let someone from the street carry your bag to the riad unless really necessary.. These people are unfriendly and want to charge you a lot.
Great rooftop terrace, nice french style breakfast, attentive staff.
Location was close to major sites
Locals in parking lot hitting you up for 5 Euros to show you where your Riad is located. Water leaked into our room from unit above. Shower drain was clogged and backed up.
toilet and bathroom without doors, wifi works only sometimes,
owner was very friendly and helpful
Lovely place and people. Sweet and helpful staff. Great location. Nice roof top terrace and courtyard. Good breakfast. Very recommendable place!
The bathroom is almost part of the 3 persons room, there is no door to separate. But otherwise very nice room. The swimming pool is very small and cold.
The owner and staffs were really friendly and helpful. The riad was clean and comfortable. Overall we enjoy our stay there..
Friendly and helpful staff, good location, lovely breakfast and peppermint tea, beds changed daily
Slightly awkward to shower but nothing to really complain about!
